alanschu, Nick and me are big HoI2 fans. We had a coop session going on a while back, until alanschu pulled a jerkface on us. Since he's played both, he should be able to do a fair assessment of them. That being said, I think the naval part of HoI2 is pretty weak, so it might not be so fair. But yeah, different focus.

Yeah, EU2 doesn't cost $1.

Hmm, pretty neat stuff. If a bit overwhelming. Can't say I'm well-versed in naval warfare, so the little details will go over my head. That being said, the naval part of HoI2 is completely disappointing. It's nice to see that supply and detection play a good role, though. Barring the completely different scope, how would you compare the game to Distant Guns?

Yeah, anyway, I'll get it, but I probably won't get around to playing it in a long while. If anything, it'll give me some idea of what EU3 will be like, maybe even convince me into getting that. We'll see.

Or if you have a 360, SotN will be released early next year via Xbox Live Arcade. To be on-topic, I got Castlevania Portrait of Ruin this week. Awesome game. I got the preorder package which includes a soundtrack CD with tracks from apparently all previous Castlevania titles, an art book, a stylus, a gamecase, a poster. It's pretty neat. Though, aside from this, the only other title I've played was Dawn of Sorrow, so most of this is over my head.

Okay, Gamersgate (Paradox' digital distribution system) has EU1 for 1 whole freaking dollar. Is the game worth trying out, given that EU2 is apparently better and that EU3 is coming along soon? 1 freaking dollar isn't much of an investment, so I'll gladly shell it out if the game warrants it.

Erm, it's been known for a while now that RE5 is 360/PS3. The Wii is getting a sidestory called Umbrella Chronicles (-____-).

I forget, do Resident Evil games have any story continuity between them? I've never played any of them since I don't have the system for them, but I might RE5 since it's coming out on 360 (and I might RE4 once I get a Wii). In any case, RE5 news:

The campaign's fairly short. If you have someone you can coop with, go for it. Coop is awesome.

Well, I'd consider it a nice bonus, but not much more. I mean, yes, the PS2 has a massive library of good games, but I can get it for <100$. It doesn't justify the 600$ box if the PS3 can't justify itself on its own merits.

I'll want more expanded impressions later on. Offer ends today, but I probably won't bite yet. If you do sound overly positive about it, though, it might be something I'll consider along the line. Not having 30% off won't be a big deal if the game is actually worth it. Though, I still have my massive backlog of wargames to go through, not to mention the upcoming CC's.

Well, I have a DS and a 360, and I haven't actually gone out and played any GBA/Xbox games on them. That being said, I'll be all over the Wii's Virtual Console once it comes out. But that's really for nostalgia's sake. Replaying stuff like Double Dragon, Contra or Ninja Turtles. Hehe, good old coop days.
