The important thing about the ice conditions is more humidity than temperature, so I'm not too worried. In other news, no bittersweet feelings in this one. I was sad to see Stevie Y probably play his last game. It was a good battle with the Sharks, but no big careers come to a close over there, so it's nothing but euphoria!! WOoo!

Oh, Buffalo and Edmonton in the Finals

THE OILERS WIN THE OILERS WIN OH MY GOD THE OILERS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I preferred the commando as well. Something about the way Tanya spoke that irritated me. Plus, a silenced sniper rifle sounds cooler than the akimbo pistols.
  5. The thing is though, I hardly notice the level loads in games as it is, including Bloodlines. One game I could see it helping in is BF2 (assuming it's load time is related to file transfer), but I don't play it enough. They are good. But not worth the money IMO. EDIT: As for the Sims 2, that certainly is a compelling argument!

Then the Sharks would have gone up against Colorado, which would mean they'd probably have an easier time getting into the conference finals. But then they'd still have to face the Oilers in the Conference FInals
  7. And how many of those are required to play the game?

Heading out to Schanks with some friends. Should be good fun!
  9. So? Many games have patches. But you certainly don't need it. And it only affects a significantly small subset of the entire user base (those that run servers). I don't have a patch to play the game. And I don't need a patch to play the game. I guess I should have clarified, because I did know about the server patch (since I checked for any patches when I reinstalled the game). But there's no client patch, nor is there a patch for the single player, or even to play in the multiplayer. For simply playing the game, there is no patch.
  10. What PC game isn't overwhelmingly buggy nowadays? "Publish, then patch" is SOP in PC gaming now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Almost all of them? The vast majority of people seem to be having no problem playing Oblivion. It's just the vocal minority you hear on their forums. Civ 4 ran fine, as did Call of Duty 2. Space Rangers 2 has no problems. And that's just the last 4 games that I have had time to play lately (well, Freelancer as well....but that's an older game. But it never had a patch released for it). The last game I can remember being unable to play until completion was Bloodlines. I'm at work right now, but if you want, I can compile a full list of games I have bought since Bloodlines. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Freelancer patch 1.1 from the official site. And on Gamespot Only small stuff though. It's a great game <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a server patch. I don't need to patch it to play the game, nor do I need it to play online.

  12. But the main thing is, we all said it!
  13. To be honest, I haven't actually played on that machine. I'm just assuming it goes well, since no one else complains about it. I could definitely see diminishing returns, perhaps to the point of no real gain. Less performance seems awfully unusual.

Edmonton also has never come back from 0-2 to be 3-2 in a series! It'll be a gooder! :D LET'S GO OILERS!
  15. A machine at my lab has 4 GB of RAM. It's also the one that my boss/professor let us install the copy of Oblivion he gave the lab
  16. If you buy a high end system, I'm almost compelled to say that any game that isn't overwhelmingly buggy would have no problems being played (in terms of playability) on a computer.
  17. It's the atmosphere and ambiance that sold CoD for me. There's a demo you can download if you're not willing to spend the money on something you're unsure of.
  18. You should play those CoD games meta!
