Sword and Shield is certainly the most survivable to start. Which isn't surprising, as you'll get the HP from being a warrior, plus the most armor.

Hmm, I don't believe any of the areas you have remaining lock you in. There might be a lock in in after you have been there and started doing things for a while. I can't remember exactly.

Yeah I believe you It makes sense given the context of that area. Have you been able to get inside?

Ah okay, I know where you're talking about. I thought so, but I never tried leaving there. It was the first place I went too, and yeah, inside is pretty tough I found. And yes, the ability "Overwhelm" sucks ass Deraldin!

I don't think that the decision has anything to do with being a console gamer. As far as I know, it was in before the game existed on the console. I agree though that the art style was a bit excessive in the blood. I turned off the blood splatter on character models because I found it distracting in conversations. I didn't mind the odd impaling or aother finishing blows, but the fact that my character wouldn't wipe my face made me cringe

To each his own. I'd vehemently argue against the game playing itself. I'd like to see anyone try to play the game with a drink in one hand even with regenerating health. It doesn't regenerate in combat, and if you decide to half-ass it and not even try, you're going to die.

Soooo, people are silly
I know it's the interwebs. He and I were never really the talk online types though. As awesome as it is to just chat with him, I enjoyed going out and playing sports with him more. I'm sure we'll both have our times we ask how the other is doing, but he's going to London to go through the certification and training to be on a cruise line. It'll be hard to keep track of him when he's in the middle of the ocean Even if that wasn't the case, the distance makes it difficult to keep in contact. Out of sight, out of mind.

I think he was more referring to spells that wouldn't be referring to buffs. There's no estimate as to how much damage a direct damage spell will do, or how much magic/spellpower affects it.

Mass Effect!
I'd say that for $10, you get more than full value from Mass Effect.

Hmmm, I'm not at work right now (sick ), but maybe try the middle mouse button to turn the camera? I'm sure you can turn the camera with the mouse because that would definitely drive me insane too! Hahaha.

Hmmm, I didn't find the start to be overly difficult personally. Especially if I had a party member, ANY party member with me. Slide in behind the guy and you can deal out some pretty sweet damage. Toss in a stun after a few hits to make sure they don't turn around. I did have some growing pains at the start, but that seemed to be more related to the group as a whole and me not expecting that the game might be somewhat challenging. Hmmm, didn't notice that. Especially once I got Alistair up to tanking form. Alistair typically hovered around 10-15% of all damage done in the party, while Morrigan and myself each split off about 40% each. Though I tended to put my points split into Dex and cunning, with some strength and willpower. Though I used the strength so that I could get swords, not so much better armor. I found the social skills to be pretty useful. Which situations did you find you fought the guy later with more reinforcements anyway after using them? If that happened, I wonder if you actually failed the Intimidate/Persuade check. And yes, if you don't put points into lockpicking or cunning, you're going to struggle with opening locked items (I think it also helps with spotting and disarming traps too IIRC).

ERrr, you can't control the camera with the mouse? As for loading times, some people have commented on the official forums that if they alt-tab a fair bit, they notice longer loading times. I never had an issue with load times at work, but I had a boatload of memory and a decent processor. Oerwinde, does restarting the game reduce the loading times?

Are 'violent' games really violent?
I'd argue that playing paint ball is probably worse than playing violent video games. Though I disagree that you can't say video games are violent. Whether or not some content is violent is really neither here nor there though. The original Kung-Fu game could be called violent, because it depicts acts of violence. Things get fuzzy though, because you can literally be quite liberal with it. Depending on how you define violent content (say, acts of aggressive behaviour against other entities in the game), you could (rightly) argue that games like Pac Man and Super Mario Brothers are violent video games. I will agree that the definition of violence, and how you define a video game, is subjective though. In that sense, I do agree that it is influenced by personal opinion. I know I sure loved getting payback on those ghosts when I was younger.

Soooo, people are silly
Particularly in how selfish they can be haha. A really good friend of mine just got a great business opportunity in London. This is, naturally going to put me out of contact with him. Possibly forever. So while 90% of me is happy, there's that 10% sad of realizing I'll miss my friend!

Hehe, the shoe conversation did make me laugh. Some might find it a bit too silly, but I enjoyed almost all of the party banter. Especially the silly ones When Alistair "shows up" Morrigan by "stumping" her with a question was great!
