Well, the wording on the digital card is somewhat unclear in "which Silas Vekker am I supposed to defeat - the first or the second or both?", but it is a correct programming for the text shown on the digital card. The bug is in the fact that Silas does not work in this way in card game - the wording is completely different on the physical card, meaning the lone character encounters him only once. It is annoying as the Lower Planes (pick your choice - Abyss or Baator), but at least it is only in one scenario and you may not even meet Silas (relying on temporary closing). Among my heroes, the only ones able to take him down without massive Shelyn/Milani blessing support are Kyra and Lini. I did not level Seelah or Sajan to 6th adventure, so maybe these two can survive as well... SO the developers need to change the wording on the card picture and the functionality of the card. They even have the correct behaviour coded in the Tangletooth henchman, who works exactly as Silas Vekker is supposed to work. We shall wait - if it got on their list of issues, half of the battle is already won. No, I'm pretty sure it's a bug. If you encounter Silas with multiple characters then every character has to encounter him twice. It's definitely not working as intended.

Most hated scenario
LaSpeakeasi replied to Eumaios's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
Cannibal Haunts. I hate any game mechanic that forces you to permanently lose a collected card in a COLLECTIBLE CARD GAME. -
The game rules do get complicated at times. Where this game often gets a little confusing, is that it isn't Pathfinder Adventures isn't really meant to be a card-collecting game, it is more of an RPG that uses random decks instead of a traditional "Dungeon Master." If you are interested, here is a copy go the most up-to-date rulebook. It focuses on tabletop setup, but it is essentially the same with how the app behaves. Yes... it is thirty pages long, but the first section explains how the game manages the pool of cards (i.e. "the box") when playing scenarios. It's most certainly a collectible card game. Because your chances of winning is mostly dependent on how many great cards you have. And judging from what you showed me, it's a poor adaptation of the rules at that. You can't permanently lose a card in the card game. But here due to the banish system you can be punished for... playing the game. It feels like a cynical, transparent plot to extort players for more money.

Who during development thought this is a good idea in a COLLECTIBLE CARD GAME? It's obvious not in the tabletop rules (you can't force your player to tear up a card they bought, can you?) why is it okay to force digital players to lose a card? There's even more guarantee that you may win a scenario after banishing a card. If you failed to win the scenario after vanishing them, you basically lost a card for nothing. And sometime you don't get a choice at all (cannibal haunts), don't have a spare card in hand? You're SOL. Better forfeit and restart. It defeats the purpose of the game, and discourages players to, well, play since you may getter of farming a scenario worse-off than you started out. So many of the games' rules seems to serve no purpose other than to punish the player for playing. Such a shameful, cynical, transparent attempt to get people to pay up.

Ok, I think I am able to reproduce the issue. It *always* occur under these circumstances: 1. Using blessing to aid another character 2. The character aiding has a blessing-augmenting power (e.g. Kyra and Seelah) that allows you to recharge instead of discard. 3. The character aided is a goblin, namely Ranzak and Poog The game will freeze. The right arrow proceed button will disappear. Upon loading the save, the blessing-augmenting power will not be used. And any character between the aided and aiding party will have their turn skipped. And blessing deck will lose the corresponding turns w/o those character actually getting to move. Pls fix this - it's incredibly annoying if not downright game breaking.

Report some bugs
LaSpeakeasi replied to rill15's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
1. Silas Vekker forces you to encounter forces you to encounter him twice. 2. Yellow Belly sometimes does work. 3. Greenhorn always forces you to banish animal boons even when you didn't choose it. 4. Dragging cards from discard pile into hand/deck sometimes doesn't work. 5. Aiding goblin characters with blessing powers (e.g. Kyra and Seelah) freezes the game and blessing power doesn't activate. 6. Promo cards are so rare I beat AD1-AD6 w/o encountering a single one. Is encounter rate bugged? This game is unplayable bugger. I'm seriously considering leaving a negative review on iOS because it's basically unplayable. -
Hi, this bug still persists on the iOS version. Because Vekker is such a difficult check, he's stonewalling me and rendering the scenario basically unwinnable on higher difficulties. I can't believe the developer let a major bug like this sit for 6 months w/o any action. Seriously considering changing my app review to negative.

Promos cards are the "P" deck when you are viewing your collection. If you are playing F2P you may only have one or two (if any). If you bought the Rise of the Runelords bundle, or the Obsidian Edition on steam, you should have been granted a few more. A few of them are seasonal, and may come up in the app again around Halloween, Christmas, or Valentines' Day. Any promo card you own, that your party doesn't already possess, has a chance of coming up in play. I noticed that I have several P cards from the Goblin expansion listed as "owned". But playing RotRL AD1-AD6 I never encountered any of them. Are they that rare? Several of Poog's powers are tied to those cards and as of now they're kind of useless w/o the Zarongel cards.

I noticed that I have a few P cards listed as "owned", presumably from having bought Rise of the Goblins. But I've never encountered any of them from AD1-AD6. Are they that rare? Some of Poog's powers are tied to P cards. Seems a waste to invest in those powers if they're gonna be this rare. I've never played a card game in my life and this is very confusing to me. I wish the developer had explained all this better with in-store instructions.

I'm not sure this is true. I have at least 12+ of Blessing of Erastil. Maxed out both the Monk and the Rogue's hands with it. Didn't farm for it at all, just naturally ran into that many of them. Have you encountered all of them during regular play with the characters that had them at the moment? I played quite a lot on Legendary (starting some months before PC release) to unlock all the alternate characters and other gold-expensive stuff and never observed any blessing that would cross that limit. My Kyra had 4 Blessings of Sarenrae and Seoni 4 Blessings of Pharasma and never ever had I encountered even one of them. The fifth blessing was supplied to Kyra from the second party. Of course, you can have any number of cards in your deck even in excess of the numbers listed in the Collection. So I had Ezren with 3 Lightning Bolt cards (2 in Collection) and Merisiel with two B-deck Masterwork Tools (1 in Collection) without problems. I'm not sure. I switch out my characters regularly and haven't kept track. I'm still getting Erastil even tho I already have 12+. I don't think there're limits to how many blessings you can get. I have like 5 Lightning Bolt cards. I never switched out Ezren. He's just always in my party and I kept getting Lightning Bolt.

As titled. My Wand of Enervation makes a copy of itself after every battle. I'm terrified that they might corrupt my save when Obsidian come in and fix the bug. I'm afraid they will delete all my characters if they deem it cheating. It's happened multiple times in multiple scenarios with multiple characters. General (For all issues) What platform are you on? Stream/Android/iPad, etc. - iPad What version of the OS are you running? Android 4.4, iOS 9.3, etc. - iOS 10.3.3. What model is the device? It's happened every time without fail. If I play Kyra's Danwflower's Favor to assist another character's check, then choose the Recharge option, the game will freeze. I must quit to Main Menu and Continue. But Kyra's Blessing will be discarded anyway as if the power is never used. Also, can I just say this game is unbearably buggy for a game that's come out for almost a year? I purposely waited to play the game hoping you will iron out the kinks. I was sorely disappointed again. I've played most Obsidian games, and every new Obsidian game felt like the most buggy release you've ever put out. It's as if you don't believe in playtesting or quality control whatsover.

IIRC if you progress through Osric's quest eventually the Journal will update itself with the location of Dunryd Row. You just need to go to the Crucible Keep and steal the document.

Brighthollow resting bonus doesn't need a buff. The 1-rest per pop inn bonuses however, do. If I rested in Dyrford or Stalwalt and venture back into the main areas, I might already need a rest soon after reaching my destination. Also due to the flawed way mechanics are implemented, chances are by late game most people will use the +2 mechanics exclusively anyway.

Skipping Companion Quests
LaSpeakeasi replied to Anaeme's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Durance and Grieving Mother are the only 2 companions requiring you to have them in your party for an extended period of time. As for the others you can just switch them in when about to embark on their quests. -
Cannot Decide on a class
LaSpeakeasi replied to bhill1007's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The Gloves of Mechanics is random loot. Meaning you can't get it in a normal game. It's entirely based on luck. In my 4 playthroughs only 1 of them did I happened upon a pair. So you shouldn't count on getting it. Luck nothing. You just need the right timing. Perhaps more crucially, there are only a few skill checks with ultra-high requirements. You simply have to use rest bonuses and/or whatever scrolls you can find when they're coming up. 1) I love how the thread itself was like "whoa we're not really sure about this". 2) Some of us just don't want to game the system. If I do it like that I might as well get the IE mod and fire up the console. 3) The Brighthollow bonus is somewhat inconvenienced in that the highest skill check areas happen to be quite far from Caed Nua (>1 day), by the time you reached them you already used one rest. You'll find yourself traveling to and fro quite a lot. 4) I maintain that this is a design oversight on OBS' part. Such an essential item should not be left to random loot. And I'd bitch about it every chance I get. -
Lighthouse story/rant
LaSpeakeasi replied to Wald0's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
If I remember correctly, once the ghosts ambush you they close all the doors so you couldn't escape and have to fight them while being surrounded on all sides. Even with Shadowing Beyond the idiotic pathfinding AI might just have his rogue run in circles. -

TBH it's hard to sympathize with you because... well, that's what Iron Mode means? I personally find Iron Mode a terrible way to experience the game for the 1st time. It's an RPG. There's a story. Being able to go back and experience it in full is kinda a necessity. Also, if you lack the ability to cope with open area fights, chances are you are going to have an even harder time in WM... So there. -
