The battle: easiest encounter in the game. Sounded hard in the narration, but the red circles just stood there, did nothing, my guys wiped them out without a scratch. Not scripted well?

WM 2 and patch: I find the new presentation/ listing of spells confusing. Every time one is cast the screen is covered with a white flash and I can't see what is happening. And when the battle is over a big earthquake. Why?

I did not find a journal--I found a wave crested key on the floor. By Abbot's chamber did you mean the large room where i first met him? There's a room in back down a corridor which requires mechanics far beyond my abilities, even with a spell. I opened the panels in the Silence, by accident; I think it goes barren, tide, fire, flourishing city (somewhat like the murals outside). I reached in, It said I was following the Abbot's teaching although he never told me anything, water flooded below me. I cannot reopen the panels. Now what? What do I need to pass the water curtain upstairs?

I'm stuck in the Abbey: I killed the Abbot and his guards, went down to the Silence and can't rearrange the panels. Help! Was i not supposed to kill the Abbot? The box says passed the Recitation--is there a peaceful way?

WAlkthroughs are always welcome -- but--I remember an outline, listing what is to be done in each location. It was the first link in a thread here somewhere. Anyone remember? P. S. I heard the same voice in a Skyrim youtube?

Send in a victim who runs out, luring them out, is the ticket. But I could not handle all at once (level 12)--I lured one or two at a time, repeated. After they floored the victim I moved a fighter just close enough to catch the eye of one of the enemies, killed that one with my group. Same with the rooms of the apprentices. Steel mages are the hardest. After that Concelhaut alone was easy--again let him pound the victim, had three fighters and two mages pound on him.

I think it's the spirit on the lower right who tells you they reversed the loyalty oath--so you say you hate Od Nua. After that I sailed through 14 and 15, no fighting, just sympathized with spirit and dragon, said I would help them (intellect 15).

I got through the bluffs level 11 as a weak player by luring/funneling the enemies one or two at a time. Took a very long time. (Don't know why I did it.)

Talking to the dragon: it should relent if I give the 17 resolve answer. I have 17, on Aloth, not my main character, but doesn't work. I gave Aloth Sagani's hat and that should be 18, but that doesn't register. What to do?

Rode the cart but don't have enough mechanics to open the workshop--no place to go (except the trapped room). What's next?

Galaxy. I'm afraid to try the gog one in case it conflicts.

OK -- Got the game, Pillars plus WM, running the hard way. I used GOG Galaxy and had an enormous 20G download (on GOG.com it's 8G) which took 24 hours because it continually broke off and I wasn't going to stay and watch it. But it installed itself smoothly and I had only to click Play. My saves were still there. It's 2.01. Still don't know why 20G. So now I have two complete installs, only one works. I still don't know what was happening with the frozen menu and title screen. Galaxy is not so stable, better not jiggle anything on screen.

I misspoke--WM is installed, 17.6G in the data file. Launch is the problem, as above. Did Obsidian increase the hardware specs for this? Because I had a similar problem with another less powered machine, freeze on intro screen. Not enough CPU? GPU? Pillars itself ran well for me. I see a note about verifying cache--where in GOG? So, I'm going back to downloading the whole thing from the beginning.

I've downloaded both setup files for WM from GOG (and the two patches), ran the first one, says Install Successful, launch produces only a blank menu. (If I click on the top level I get a Pof E screen overlaid, and it freezes.) I also ran the two patches which was probably a mistake--the first one produced an error log. I posted on two threads here--I'd like an answer from an administrator--is this GOG's fault? What can I do--delete and download the whole game from the beginning? Help! patch_log.txt

Version 2.01.0721. I've posted this on another thread, emailed Support, waiting for help. In order to get 2.0 I had to delete everything and download from the beginning. Hope not again.

I'm having the missing buttons as I try to launch after installing WM. Screen says Install Successful. At launch I get nothing, black screen, no intro screens; if I hit Enter I get the empty menu, the buttons don't work except Exit. Version says 2.01.0721 When I installed 2.01 for PofE it said Errors Present. I also installed 2.01 for WM. Mistake? I've emailed Support but no response. I'm looking for a WM install thread here.

On the Thaos video, top: I tried at level nine, easy game, had spells only to level four, so no success. I attacked Thaos first, had him on his knees as it looked, damaged, he made no further moves; but the judges were unstoppable. (I confused them once but it didn't last.) The video shows one character stopping each judge, who makes no moves? How? One time I had the judges separately pursuing one character each around the arena while I beat Thaos--but no result, I couldn't run forever. I admire the numbers game behind the video, but I don't have that kind of mind.

Re final fight, I'm following your advice and going back from Burial Isle. How high should you be before tackling Thoas? I confused the giants and had them whack each other, but it didn't last. I don't like boss fights with non-stop whacking. The expansion also requires going back to Burial Isle? I could not get the cheat to work. I got a message saying Select Control-0?
