We only talk about Fallout
Heaven forbid, Volo! I agree with friendly fire - although the fact that Marcus wouldnt' think of moving ONE STEP out of the way before blatantly minigunning you in the back was kind of, no, really, stupid. Probably more of an AI issue. Yeah, it really sucks when you don thave a save for the last 3 hours.

We only talk about Fallout
Arcanum solved most of Fallout's combat problems except for the lack of real Cover. Then it broke balance in just about every way possible. So...

GOTHIC 3 - GOLD!!!!!
Have we actually heard Gothic 3's music yet? I haven't been excited by any computer game musics for a long time now, especially with the stupid Soule-styles. Jeremy Soule is so uninspired in 99% of his pieces it's a pain to have to listen to them on repeat in-game. What's Rosenkranz' style?

The accuracy claim is solved later, with better guns. The reason accuracy is so low in these games is because Fallout didn't really have a cover / destroy cover mechanism: if it did then it would have been a LOT better. So the only real flaw is having to wait 60 years for everyone to move - which Arcanum solved with its "Fast" turn-based mode. A speed slider would have been even better. I think everyone (except super-fanboy level 16) knows that it's a big flaw in the system - but that's about it. Oh, and waiting for 3 minutes so rats finish running away from you was NOT good back in the day, either.

Bioshock - first public footage
Yeah, the guy does try to say "there are a lot of options here on what to do" then either reverts to classic options or just say "plasmids". Doesn't matter though, there are a wealth of existing options made available and the atmosphere is really what will make the game. Was kind of like watching the Witcher promos really.

Bioshock - first public footage
The atmosphere looks fantastic, and water is beautiful, although it's crying out for real water physics (as you walk about you get water on your boots, if you kick things around the water splashes, water goes to the lowest area, etc). Don't know if they have any phsyics, but couldn't see any in the video. Another thing is that the framerate definitely seemed more like 15-20 in many areas, especially with fire / water effects, rather than the standard 30. It's still early on, though.

Delayed Again!
mkreku, it can do all those things anyway. The only difference is that instead of adding to the pre-release hype, it comes after the hype and lets them go and buy it straight away after playing the demo.

To be fair, they're very good at finding stolen credit cards.

Lego Star Wars II
At the end of each mission? Because I finished the 2nd mission (where Luke and Ben rescue c3po and r2d2), came back to the Cantina, then just quit. We shall see. So far the highlight is c3po minus arm and leg hopping around trying not to short-circuit.

And I can't figure out when and how to save.

Lego Star Wars II
Apparently there was a patch that.. uh... fixes the installation bug. I'm a little disappointed because now that I play it, it's clearly not worth the money unless you play with a friend, in which case it would be great. They have a lot of fun touches to it, though, and I can see myself sink a few hours in here. Of course, I'm using a keyboard and I've always been horrible at 3D platform games. I've missed tons of stuff after being fed up with missing the simplest of jumps, Obi-Wan must have recurring skin burns after falling in the lava thing so many times. edit: meta: nothing. And while I'm not a computer-guru I am proficient enough with these things. MTW and FIFA 06 were purchased from bargain bins, and those repackaged ones are always trouble. Oblivion worked fine, as I recall; Indigo Prophecy had a fair few hiccups before I sorted it out, can't remember but something to do with the way they handled registry entries. Of course, I still remember BG2 giving me "Catastrophic Error" on install. I still remember that it's on 33-35% on minimal install that CreANI.bif is copied over to the hard disk.

GOTHIC 3 - GOLD!!!!!
It's Gothic's new revolutionary AI? I wonder why they deemed it fit to release that screenshot (unless it's not one released by the company). certainly seems odd.

Delayed Again!
Your doubt has no foundation, and if it does, you have not even tried to tell us what that is. That's like saying "I doubt the president of France in the year 2017 can do a good job." Ever followed HL2 before it came out? Or NWN? I remember tracking it regularly for about 3 years, half of which was after the first projected release date.

Lego Star Wars II
*crais* bought this on whim + obsidianist recommendation, the massive Defau~1.cab has invalid digital signature. I believe of my last 5 perfectly legal purchases of full retail games, 4 have ended up working so badly that I had to download, mount or crack to get them functioning. Excellent.

Remember FALLOUT!
I was 9 when Fallout was released. I was 11 when I first played PS:T. I thought it was boring and pointless, but I loved BG2. I went back to PS:T when I was 16 and it instantly became my all-time favourite. Also finally tried the Fallouts and loved it, once my eyes stopped hurting. Youngsters can champion your beloved oldies and refute the nostalgia argument, people. Love it.

Witch's Wake
It wasn't worth paying for, yes. It might have been if it was completed. It was probably at least 5-6 parts in original concept.

Witch's Wake
Yep. WW was released 2-3 years ago as Bartel's personal module, and it was definitely "part 1" - I believe the 'remastered' WW that comes with Kingmaker still has traces of "part 1" comments in it. The module was definitely intended to be a lot longer, once you find out about the hag. I mean, would they really waste all that time on the elaborate resurrection method, and how you can talk to people in those 'cells', to never really use it? Such a short module wouldn't even need a resurrection protocol. Bio did pull him out of it, and initially there was indignation that Bartel was not allowed to continue a module which many (including myself) felt was of an infinitely higher quality than the OC. HOTU sorta dented that illogical bitterness, but it's still a pity. The only module that really comes close to it in terms of style and skill is ... well, crap. That guy on nwvault, who did Elegia Eternum.

WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
Dialogue Option -> "Wii > *" Sounds like Nintendo is taking risks once again, but then a fair bit of their risks have already been successful. I'm really hoping Wii will take off. I might seriously consider my first console since SNES/PS1 if it does.

Neverwinter Nights: Darkness over Daggerford
Yeah, the 'mist shrine' thing is in one of them. In both of those areas you start up on the cliffs, but you can find those pathways down to the shoreline; I believe that's where you find the cave / ship for the main plot as well, and that marooned ship with the vampire. I pretty much treated the game as BG and looked at every nook and cranny, and I was rewarded mostly. The priest of Bhaal's altar can also be opened up. If you walk in and walk straight until you can't (because of the drop), then you will find a secret catch in the floor that reveals a switch (or was it a key? Whatever). It just gives you some items. My wizard had ~16 dexterity when I tried the herbs, but I crushed them too, so not sure. I assume that they were related with the hermit, though.

Wikipedia Criticism
For serious academic endeavours, wikipedia is often a good place to get a rough idea of things, if one possesses the mental proficiency to 'tag' all wikipedia information possibly generalised and/or untrue, and upon inquiry of more reliable sources discern a proper depth of understanding.

Teleportation
At the same time, we are free to speculate on the effect of such a technology were it to become viable; as such: alanschu, your point appears to be that in the moment of separation / cloning, there are two bodies but only one conscience; and that upon the destruction of the first body that conscience is eradicated and what is left is a clone, which, presuming that it is not a 'vegetable' and retains cognitive processes and so forth... what conscience has it been given? Does the copying of the physical also copy some sort of link in a dualist sense that means not only the creation of a second body but of a second conscience? And if it does, that conscience would be like a "Save As" function on the computer.. that from that point forth there would be two consciences, though they 'share' the past. If this were to be the case the argument that the original conscience has been killed becomes tenuous. If the conscience was, in fact, 'copied', then there would be absolutely no difference between you prior teleportation adn you after teleportation save a semantic fact of copying. I agree with you that no matter what happens, there is the destruction of a body and a conscience; the question is whether, due to the links of memory, cognitive process and so forth, a complete creation of a conscience - in other words, the artificial creation of a mind - is possible. The body itself? Hell, we do implants and stuff all the time.

Bush uses 9/11 to Justify Iraq War
Well, if there were any other foreign troops around I'm sure there might have been similar incidents, though I'm not sure if it'd have been as numerous. Not singling American soldiers out for anythin' - but rape in a country you're supposed to be protecting out of your own volition (we WANT you to go, it's the US government that wont leave, as if you would be useful in a war situation..), and the culprits cannot be punished accordingly due to American influence (sort of like how innocent muslims are locked up in American jails indefinitely without given a trial at all), and how all this slips under the reporting media for any country. Nothing to do with Americans; but it's pretty sad to see how many freedoms and morals are being crushed under the boot needlessly to 'protect America'. Did the administration really need to, say, lock up a Muslim moving states to find work and not give him a trial for months? Invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq we have a tenuous logic; how does this kind of stuff 'protect America'? It destroys it.
