Crappie crappers. Opened toolset for the first time today, crash.

The perspective when talking to shorter characters goes wonky quite often. Also, since party members are very close together, you can be looking at a super closeup of Elanee's cleavage when Khelgar is talking or something. There are numerous small clipping errors, of course. Hair clips, cloak clips a LOT, a sheathed sword clips through legs and other things, beard clips when dwarves nod, and so forth.

I'm sorry, I didn't know the correct elven for whiny beach.

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition
Tigranes replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
roshan, it just annoys me having to shuffle party members around for crafting, since i get 5fps indoors. I do use kr_roster_edit though. -
Perhaps the walkmeshes conflicted with the elevation. It happens in Morrowind, Oblivion, Gothic 3 as well. (I remember when I was walking downa corridor then fell through the floor. The floor of the 6th floor.)

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition

Uh... but the person casting it needs the right feat. So unless you want to give the Craft Arms & Armour feat to about 4 different people.. -
That's what I thought too when I chose to get extra ram, but it doesn't help at all. Maybe it's the VM settings - some say increase it, some say decrease it - or the cache?

Can't be sure, but took me a week to finish, and I'm on holiday; I would say a bit over 40 hours, including reloads, walking back and forth in dungeons after missing things, working out one particular crash. I think I completed around 70-80% of the game, barring companions I didn't carry around, and a few quests whose options would have been wildly different. I'm pretty sure if I missed an area, encounter or quest, they wouldnt be many. So 35-40 hours, pleasantly surprised by that.

Yeah, the thing that makes it playable indoors for me is the fact that the frame rate, even when low, is stable. It is a testament to my having played games on minimum req computers for so long that I realised as long as my fps were double digits, I see the game as running smoothly! In 800x600 I was surprised to see that where I got 5fps indoors with 1024x768 (which is pretty bothersome), everything worked wonderfully. Realised 'wonderfully' for me meant 11fps. I would play 800x600 and sacrifice some grahpics, but the font gets really jaggy and stretched and it hurts my eyes. No fix for that I've found, yet?

Heh. Yeah, I remember making Some Amulet With Really Long Name that requires Radiant Fire/Water/Earth(or Power?), Blue Diamond and mage's armour spell (i think) that gives you good protection from mind spells and SR and so on. Instead I got a Talisman of Pure Evil. Good, except nobody in my party is Evil.

Okay, I can't be screwed explaining every obvious logical connection to someone selectively devoid with logic, since it's going to be futile. Conclusion: Volo doesnt like Neeshka and thinks she is a crap character. Some agree. Tigranes likes Neeshka and thinks she is a good character. Some agree. Magical Volo wins yet again, game over, etc. moving on.

I just pick up every crafting item I find, and have a mule character store it all. Every time I find a crafting book I'll take a quick glance to see if anything could be useful to me; later on, chances are I'll remember that there is a recipe for a item I might want. Then I just write a little list of the recipes that are nearly complete in a note pad or something, and look out for that last item. Many items need similar ingredients anyway (especially in terms of gems), so no biggie. I felt it was a good balance in difficulty, though I only crafted 3 or 4 items in my first game. I'm just not a crafting person that much, but I can appreciate it.

Imoen brags about being a thief. OPINION OPINION GOGOGOGO I did like Sand and Bishop. I learnt about metaphors when I was twelve, Volourn. Didn't you? edit; because I know you'll argue that its not a valid metaphor or whatever, sure, here; the point was that you mainly say Neeshka is poorly written because she doesnt make sense to you and to you she has no real consistency. Firstly, I showed you before that such a call was founded on poor evidence, since you yourself enver even looked at the dialogue; Secondly, my metaphor wasi ntended to you show you that people need not be absolutely consistent, and people's beliefs need not make sense to *you* for it to be a well written character. On the contrary, if I find beliefs in NPCs I find hard to accept then I take it as I would if I couldnt understand a real person's beliefs; either respect them, or try to persuade them temporarily, or ignore / force my way through, depending on what is necessary.

I'm a classic CG thats more chaotic than good, and I found Neeshka the best companion with the highest influence. Sure, sometimes she lost patience with me because I stopped to, say, help a kid out, but mostly she likes you if you share her sense of humour, and are willing to engage in sometimes childish stings at Zaxis and Khelgar. I didn't think she would be a 'serious problem' to even a Paladin, more of an Imoen-ish problem, just with a bit less inherent sugary goodness.

If you mean the horizontal axis, you can tweak the .ini in about 5 seconds to make it right. I use Top Down Camera though, since in Freecam I found the up/down arrow keys actually zoom in ando ut, so theres no way to move the view forwards and backwards with your keyboard. What I really wanted to do was play like BG; just use my arrow keys to scroll left, right, forward, back. Even left-right working as rotation would work. I should look into it again, has anybody managed to make it work like that?

Really, by a dev? Well that takes the fun out of things, I won't be looking at that. I only found about 12-13 books, but I wasn't too hung up about crafting. I dont tend to like juggling 60 different ingredients in my inventory, even in NWN2 all my characters had a virtually empty inventory apart from the CraftMule.
-
No problem. I don't know why I sounded so beachy there. Yes. I double, triple checked. I made my own mage the "Craft Character", eventually, so had all the crafting feats except wand, at least 10 in every skill (not that that matters), memorised spell, right kind of essence, yada, yada. Also, I crafted lots of different items successfully. One thing I discovered was, though, how heavy essences are. When I switched Elanee to Zhjaeve for a while, I made Zhjaeve the new "Crafting Item Mule"; she got overburdened by carrying 50 essences ors o. I had to sell some of them.

LOL VOLO You think Neeshka not wanting to discipline kids has anything to do with "caring for the children"? Since you didnt even read the actual dialogue, FAIL, game over. If you actually read something before commenting on it you'd realise that Neeshka really was pointing out the fact that by making comments such as "oh, the kid just needs a good kick up the arse" you're being a stuffy boogerbrain. And she didnt want to look for kids because she hates kids in particular, it was because it was a pointless waste of time in her point of view. If you dont agree with her, then so leave her in the stupid inn. Its valid to complain you cant kick her out completely, but invalid to complain about a character because you DONT AGREE WITH THEIR PERSPECTIVE. Hell, half the time you're completely illogical to me, and I don't dispute your realism as a human being.

There are tons and tons of magic bags all over the shops. The only way not to find them is if you dont look at a shop's catalogue. I think I even found one in loot, because I didnt buy them and I still had one that I later sold. No, it wasn't BoH.
-
I recall it happened to me though. Like not being able to use plank of wood & bow mold to create a bow on the blacksmith bench (base item not found). I do think that because of so many variables involved there are some instances where they will fail for no reason. It's no big deal though.
-
That's because when you are wanting to debate, Magical Volo has already won the argument.

Just upgraded from 1gb ram to 1.5gb ram, and there is pretty much no difference either. Normal Mapping, bloom, high textures also have no effect. Whether I have those or have absolute low, as long as resolution is 1024x (lower hurts my eyes with those jaggy texts and all), the fps remains exactly the same - 15-25 outdoors and 5-15 indoors. I suppose it really is a CPU limitation, not ram or GPU. Pity.
-
No, I needed the scrol so that my main mage, who has my crafting feats & skills, could LEARN Cat's Grace then cast it. Which I did, and it still didnt work. The really crappy thing is that you can't have 1 person do all the crafting, since some require divine spells and some require arcane spells.

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition
Tigranes replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
I screwed it up. I finished the three quests, but I got influence failure and Khelgar said he wanted to think about it more. I figured if I moved on with the story more, then I'd hvae some opportunities to get influence up, since my character tended to generally agree with him, but lost somei nfluence when he was not so happy about fighting EVERYONE. Then, it got to Act 3, and in act 3 the priest isnt available and you cant be a monk anymore! I'll try it next time though. -
I would agree with Morgoth's comments, but it does look like Oerwinde hasn't yet finished with details such as grass and other little things. Anyway, hakpaks offered a nice way to merge different things and it got better as NWN got older. I assume a similar thing is possible in NWN2. Still, gameplay mods are a bit rarer because they are swamped by the sheer number of OMGMYOWNMODULE.
