Now that looks like good lighting. re: video - man, the dialogue is REALLY fast. You're really going to have to think fast, be very tense.

Never played Xcom myself, but I don't see why they have to dig at the corpse of an old dead franchise if they're going to change the core gameplay. Make a new franchise, make a shooter, make it good. The only reason to call it Xcom is money-grubbing.

Why is this game $70 in Australia on Steam?
Tigranes replied to Humodour's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I guess I can see why you think that way. Sadly, not everyone ships to NZ/AUS, and shipping costs a lot. Buying from halfway across the world is very different from you buying from a EU-neighbour. While you might not have it as good as US/Canada, you still have a huge amount of options as to where you get your game from; we don't have such a luxury, and DD emerges as the best option by far in most cases. Basically, imagine you spent 70 euros a pop on the last 10 games you bought. And imagine that you could have got all of them for 40-50 euros a pop, if you got them digitally instead of in a box. The difference? You don't get the box. I can't understand paying 20 euros extra to get an extra box, do you? That's the situation in NZ/AUS, really. -
Headshots were almost certainly in. The only person suggesting otherwise is the same reviewer that can't remember any game before January 2010, so I don't really worry.

I don't know much on economy, but sooner than later for conversion, I'd think. Don't think there are any massive shocks re. unemployment / interest rates in the next couple of months, but the rate is definitely good for Aussies at the moment. Hiro, petrol is around 1.75-1.80 now. I still remember in 99 or so when everyone went crazy because the petrol went over the dollar. I haven't been to the South Island (I know, I've been here, what, 13 years?), but Queenstown and Milford Sound obvious picks.

There seems to be little point to this thread anymore.

This means we can troll him now.

For PC there's no save restriction. I was very fond of Risen, if it held up as strong until the end and didn't have the ridiculous action ending it'd be truly class. Challenging, fun to explore, well designed quests.

So how does the 'new' system work? You're just fast enough to run away? Everyone is blind? Curious.

Nearly done with King's Bounty: Armored Princess. Kind of a big lull for me, haven't been a lot of games for me to get excited about, since I don't care for ME series and passed on Awakening. I'd love to play some ETW but I know the idiot AI will bite me in the ass again, and I'd have to reinstall Steam.

Two interviews with Matthew Hickman

That probably means 23-25 for me, that's fine. That makes it on par with most recent big releases in the genre, and I expected it to be shorter for all that reactivity. -
Why is this game $70 in Australia on Steam?
Tigranes replied to Humodour's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
ginji, not everyone lives in America. In New Zealand (and probably Australia), online is nearly always cheaper than retail. In many cases, significantly cheaper. And for older or less advertised games, it's much easier to find as well. In short, retail is more expensive with a limited selection - completely opposite to your guesses, it's rarely worth it. In fact I dont even know where you're coming from for some of this - download prices never drop? digital download has worse DRM than boxed copies? It's the opposite. -
This is more significant than some people suspect, I think. Stuff like TonyK's AI and other AI mods for infinity engine games and other RPGs often do their thing by adding more variables for enemies to keep track of, more if clauses, more contingency plans, more detecting values (does the hero have buff X or buff Y, or buff X and at health<20%, or buff X & Y while eating a bran muffin?). Still, it is one of the great tragedies - poor AI is the gold standard.

Yeah, changing your job is probably not easy or viable Killian, but it's probably going to be something you need to do at some point. It really will cut your lifespan short by several years all by itself, not to mention the obvious inconveniences and such. But for now, looks like you're trying to do various things, which is cool.

ANOTHER DELAY?!?!?! WTF!!!!

This particular April Fool's seems to have gone on long enough... Release date is still June 1 for US. -

This is, of course, irrelevant? Same deal in NZ, I'm not sure what I'll do. It's probably a big file to buy online and download... bandwidth costs would probably balance it out -
Killian, I seem to remember you worked at a convenience store for a while? Are you still doing that? I mean, doing that all day probably isn't going to help you meet people or have ambition or get exercise.

We will kill you for your silence.

Can't help you with your question, but let us know, I'd want to take a look

Volourn's just really committed. People say a single person can't make the difference, but he's made these posts for so long so many times so often, he's probably got a big influence on RPG market audience research figures.

Get over it, Twinkie didn't even compare it to the originals to start with. Interface-wise the inventory was pretty crap in all three Fallouts... in fact, FO1/2 interface was pretty terrible in all aspects, even considering their age. I doubt NV will change much in this aspect, but a little more streamlined and efficient version of FO3 should do fine. If they've changed repair to not need to carry 50 extra guns you shouldn't have as much clutter, either.

1) So no rape content? OK, my mistake, I've been misled. Good to find out without first hand experience, I guess. 2) What I'm saying is quite different from "custer's revenge were ignored, but rapelay got attention", is it? Not sure who you're preaching to.
-
My point is that media coverage wanted to explore the context of RapeLay. The CNN folks came across it, went WTF, then said, how do we make sense of this? And instead of looking at whether there were parallels in America/other countries, and whether this is a thing with the game industry, they went down the frame of Perverted Weird Japanese/Other - and I'm not entirely sure that was a good decision for objectivity. Regarding 'as gratuitous', well, that's probably an endless argument...

Game Crazy pre-order "Stealth Pack" cancelled
Tigranes replied to unrequited's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Matthew has just left the company so you might be waiting a little bit for your answer - an email to Sega, in fact, might be your best bet. It's likely that the preorder bonuses have not yet been organised, or not yet in your part of town... happens a lot with preorders and CE, really.
