i was panacing like hell the first time i did it, i desperately wanted one and i expected it relatively quickly, (like in k1) and i didnt know where to get it, and when i was supposed to get it, if i was meant to have it already or what, or if i missed a piece, but it takes time, its the 3rd planet you get it on (Peragus, Telos, <3rd one of your choice>)

err.. anytime On telos, if you choose to work with the czerka chick, you get a hefty sum of money and you get a lightsaber part, when you are about to depart to the restoration zone but on the other hand if you chose to work with the ithorians you get extended force points, and i think (not sure) a lightsaber piece as well overall i think you get about 2 pieces on telos, (you need 3) and i got my 3rd on dantooine, where i faught vrook and killed him (you can kill them or help them) sorry, havent played K2 in a while, im playing K1 at the moment

you cant really give up, its practially a necessity which the jedi need

someone is having a lightsaber obsession at the moment lol easy as pie, you just need to progress through the game, and they just come naturally across your path, no matter what you do, its almost impossible not to get them

you get most of the pieces from telos i think, then you get the final pieces - or completely new lightsabers from the rest of the planets that you travel to after telos
