  1. Yeah, there's really no reason for it to not be in there on mouseover.
  2. I do believe potions should be available for use outside of combat since they're a limited resource anyways. I'd be in favor for removing the "combat only" limitations on the wizard class for at least some of their buff spells. Scrolls might take things too far -- not sure... but it might be OK (as long as the spell is normally castable outside of combat) since you'd have to invest in Lore. The combat isn't difficult in this game when not using any potions/scrolls/food/rest bonuses at all, which is neither an argument for or against pre-buffing -- just an observation. I'd like to see the above in a mod to try it out.
  3. A fighter specced for dps would be built exactly like a rogue except: No starting 1.5 damage modifier. They'd have more health and the ability to wear better armor at less of a speed penalty -- neither helps dps at all. Instead of crippling strike and blind you'd get 3x prones per encounter -- I'd call that an even enough trade to consider it a wash, even though it favors tanking more. No other meaningful differences, really, but the lack of the free 1.5 damage multiplier is significant enough -- which is offset somewhat at the cost of a talent for weapon specialization. I wouldn't bother making a dps fighter since most of its better abilities would go to waste.
  4. Aumaua look similar enough to half-ogres and water genasi to be able to find several pretty good ones online. However, there's literally nothing online that looks like death godlikes and some heads don't even have any portrait at all.
  5. More portraits for death godlikes, please. Some heads don't even have portraits at all. Portraits for everything else can be found online.
  6. Individual stealth would open up tactical possibilities with a rogue, making backstab not so much of a trap choice. I believe they intended stealth to be per individual, but ran into an engine limitation. If that's the case, there won't be a mod to enable it.
  7. I liked the combat in fallout tactics more than bg2. Probably the most enjoyable recently made tactical game for me was xcom (referring to the 2012 version, but I also really enjoyed the tactical experience in the original).
  8. They could probably add a line of sight check to the ability. Dunno if they will.
  9. I don't bother to pick up mind blades post-nerf since there's the level 1 spell which is similar enough.
  10. MC a cipher and when you first get to the inn before resting, hire three level 1 mercs: rogue, barb, monk. They'll level up normally whether they're in your party or not.
  11. I disagree because currently we have: A tanky anything: Max Per, Res, and possibly Con (it doesn't really matter that much) Everything else: Max Str, Dex, and Int It would be better to make Con matter more, and for Per and Res to also be dps stats.
  12. Add an accuracy (+-1 per point away from 10) bonus/penalty to both perception and resolve. Double the constitution endurance bonus/penalty (while leaving the current health bonus/penalty alone). I'd also set the minimum attribute we can choose to 8 or 7, but that's something we can just choose to do or not do on our own.
  13. Hex changes in ie mod 4.10 underlined: 0A 12 02 28 F4 02 00 0A 3A B1 FF FF FF DD 0C 00 00 00 08 8C 7F 00 00 1B 6F 1A 00 00 0A DC 2A 00 41 1C 00 00 02 00 00 00 29 00 00 00 59 00 00 00 82 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 32 02 02 17 58 5A 20 F4 01 00 00 5A 2A 00 00 00 32 02 17 59 02 5A 20 F4 01 00 00 5A 2A 00 00 00 13 30 07 00 14 00 00 00 48 00 00 11 02 6F 12 00 00 2B 0A 06 6F 58 07 00 06 03 28 08 00 00 0A 2A 13 30 07 00 27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 28 04 00 00 0A 39 0C 00 00 00 02 6F 0C 00 00 0A 28 DC 06 00 06 2A 72 ... at hex locations 2D873 and 2D883.
  14. Yea... the string you suggest looking for is not in the unadulterated Assembly-CSharp.dll file. Alas. How did you go about finding this value so perhaps I can find it in the unadulterated Assembly-CSharp.dll file? Thanks for your efforts. You can just search for instances of F4 01 00 00 in a hex editor, and change them until it works. I'd really just suggest using the ie mod. Not using it would be similar to playing skyrim without the ui mod.
  15. You can already disable gibs without the IE mod.
  16. I'm 99% percent sure everyone gets the same amount of accuracy at level up.
  17. You mean zooming in closer? You can with the IE mod, BUT the 2D backgrounds become very pixelated at anything closer than around .75 zoom level (which is the default min distance). They chose .75 for a good reason, but feel free to experiment.
  18. I think it's 25% of damage done, but you don't gain it per hit... It feels like there's focus gain ticks every X seconds... maybe 3.
  19. 1h in the offhand with an empty mainhand is probably optimal for a monk because you get all the benefits of dual wielding + the accuracy bonus, at least until really good weapons are found and enchanted. Not 100% sure if that's an exploit. If there were procs on crit besides just more damage, there would be more of a point.
  20. You're going to get all 3 at some point. May as well be now.
  21. I still can't find any images that look close enough to the horned male death godlike. Why make a head model and not include a portrait for it? Not even any concept art for it?
  22. Hey, just a heads up: If you would like to or have already modded your game to increase the experience required per level, there's an additional edit that needs to be made: 07 6F F2 02 00 0A 26 38 0D 00 00 00 02 7B 0C 05 00 04 07 09 6F F3 02 00 0A 12 02 28 F4 02 00 0A 3A B1 FF FF FF DD 0C 00 00 00 08 8C 7F 00 00 1B 6F 1A 00 00 0A DC 2A 00 41 1C 00 00 02 00 00 00 29 00 00 00 59 00 00 00 82 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 32 02 02 17 58 5A 20 F4 01 00 00 5A 2A 00 00 00 32 02 17 59 02 5A 20 F4 01 00 00 5A 2A 00 00 00 13 30 07 00 14 00 00 00 48 00 00 11 02 6F 12 00 00 2B 0A 06 6F 58 07 00 06 03 28 08 00 00 0A 2A 13 30 07 00 27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 28 04 00 00 0A 39 0C 00 00 00 02 6F 0C 00 00 0A 28 DC 06 00 06 2A 72 B9 1F 00 70 28 42 00 00 0A 72 A1 1F 00 70 2A 00 13 30 0D 00 45 00 00 00 Both of the instances of F4 01 00 00 need to be changed (one's for the gui, the other is for the actual game logic). See this thread for more details: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76717-how-to-change-experience-per-level-requirement/
  23. Yeah, I was just about to start a new playthrough. I'll verify. 5A should be an edx register pop in assembly. EDIT: You're right, both instances near to each other need to match: 07 6F F2 02 00 0A 26 38 0D 00 00 00 02 7B 0C 05 00 04 07 09 6F F3 02 00 0A 12 02 28 F4 02 00 0A 3A B1 FF FF FF DD 0C 00 00 00 08 8C 7F 00 00 1B 6F 1A 00 00 0A DC 2A 00 41 1C 00 00 02 00 00 00 29 00 00 00 59 00 00 00 82 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 32 02 02 17 58 5A 20 F4 01 00 00 5A 2A 00 00 00 32 02 17 59 02 5A 20 F4 01 00 00 5A 2A 00 00 00 13 30 07 00 14 00 00 00 48 00 00 11 02 6F 12 00 00 2B 0A 06 6F 58 07 00 06 03 28 08 00 00 0A 2A 13 30 07 00 27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 28 04 00 00 0A 39 0C 00 00 00 02 6F 0C 00 00 0A 28 DC 06 00 06 2A 72 B9 1F 00 70 28 42 00 00 0A 72 A1 1F 00 70 2A 00 13 30 0D 00 45 00 00 00 One's for the GUI and the other is the actual game logic. That is odd. Well, maybe not too odd. I can imagine a function that contains both the code for gui and game logic and updates them separately because reasons. Whatever you write in a high level language can look kinda odd in assembly because the compiler just does whatever the hell it wants. Hand-written assembly code usually looks very different from machine compiled code. I haven't disassembled the dll or anything to look at the assembly code. I'm not good enough at assembly to make much sense of it in hex, so I can't really say why it is the way it is. While I can dissassemble it and look at the asm and its machine code in hex side-by-side, I'd rather not because I'd have to install visual studio and that takes forever and a day. Too bad I can't edit the original post in these forums.
  24. I agree, but I think it's too late. Doesn't matter what we "decide" on the forums. I, for one, won't refer to this game as poe.
