Thanks! Your inspiration . I wish I had better knowledge about what defensive is attacked by particular mobs by their particular attacks to have better knowledge which defensives need to be higher, which can be lower. Pron, Stuck or Stun is not such a problem. Paralyze, Domination and Petrify are biggest enemies, so you want to have highest rolls for it. It is also important to balance Deflection- too much and you have problem with getting wounds, too low- too many hits reach you and even your CC defense won't help you and you get CCed much more. Balanced builds wrok best in solo PotD imo. Well, Wizard next!

Check out my thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/78627-endless-paths-1-15-potd-solo-monk-achieved-story-also-ofc-build-and-details-inside/ I made super tanky monk who could still outDPS everything in-game by spaming Torments Reach and defend himself from most CC. I don't think I could do better tank damage dealer. I beated solo Endless Paths with it on PotD yesterday and for critic path it is breeze.
-
It wouldn't work imo, especially on level 13 where you have to tank HUGE group of mobs in doorways and bottlenecks. Thing about Moonlike is- imagine this situation: You fight petrify mob, like adragon or crystal spider. You are it by petrify and mob manage to lend next attack just before your petrify ended- with any other race you loose almost half Endurace. With Moon gold like it triggers your self heal or 2x (25% and 50% HP ones) and you almost full again. It just helps monk a tons in this game. I think any race would work on critic path, but I honestly think on PotD solo you need moonlike for 10-14 Endless paths. With any other race you would have to bump more points into Cinstitution. With moonlike you have free Endurace points per encouter with your self heals. But story can be with all races, so I just wanted to proof myself that monk can do Endless Paths 10-14 . It is not like there is some awesome loot there really. The only thing REALLY worth is adra dragon scale for superb Sanguine Armor. But using high stealth character it is also possible to get do Adra and avoid some hardest fights. And Adra can be killed with petrify by any class imo. I was already playing my monk and pretty much I had most of those talents already, becasue I like on solo to build my character more tanky then DPS wise. I prefer outstand enemies while punching them. But then whole Idea of this build stroke me and I finished building him in this talents in mind and becasue I already had gear. I had to reload one save becasue one talent was bad and I speed run story as much as I could to get talents. I went to EPs and I used shortcuts. I already did earlier 1-7 couse you don't need to be lvl 12 for it. It is 10-15 that will test any build. 8 was alrady cleard up (Only fapmyr boss remainded but it was easy fight) and I speed run 9-14. In 13 for example I took out two biggest pack of mobs of animants and banshees (never remember correct name) so I proofed that smaller groups around won't be problem so I didn't bother since there are all the same enemies there and proceed to level 14. Biggest problems: level 12- Vithracks, Level 14- adragons, but not too much, it was important to lure them properly using your +2 speed and figurines. Vithracks are biggest pain in the ass in game!!!!! Most boring: level 13- there is a lot mobs in one group and they deal super small damage (Animants) and die super fast from TR (banshees), so it was booooring as heeeeelll standing in those small doors and kill them. Figurines helped at least to speed it up as well as Animancer Boots. Here I have nothing to be proud of. Standard solo tactic, tested with my TC retal barb. It was not matter of my build. Stack might from food and potions, swap some gear for more Might, potion of accuracy, Animancer's boots (3x Jotling Touch instant cast, got critic here),Torment Reach, 3x Shades from obsidian lamp and of course: Petrify Trap. There is not way to kill it without it, petrify is a must. There are couple of threads where you have details abut placing traps and luring Adra to it and then melt it.

First of all, BIG THANKS to Alnaimi for his Triple Crown solo monk guide, it helps me a ton in creating this beast! Build is called "Nirvana", and It is dam strong tank monk with decent damage output and crazy defenses against everything this game can throw at you. When I think about Endless Paths solo on PotD- I have in mind just one thing- perma CC! Petrify, Paralyze and Stun. Nothing piss me off more. So while struggling to achieve it I built decent all around monk, but then I got some good tips from Alnaimi thread and decided to build my monk as walking fortress. The idea of this build was to stack as much defensives against any CC abilities/attacks in game as possible and pick up all abillities and talents that can help me get rid off those CC statuses! Since I personally have opinion that 80% of monk abilities are useless- I picked only those which I think are awesome and build my defenses even more. Same was with gear. BUILD (end-game stats after killing Adra): Race: Moon Godlike- there is no better race for Monk. Period. Self heal is free 150 Endurace for you on level 12! let you get more wounds and outlast battles when otherwise you woud die. Also your heal is AOE, works good on your figurines summons . SILVER TIDE- best racial in game: Stats were: MIGHT: 16 CON: 16 DEX: 10 PER: 10 INT: 10 RES: 16 Yup, stats were important. Goal of this build was to achieve hight defensive rolls in all three attributes: Fortitude, Reflex and Will. I knew that I cannot let my self go to low with MIGHT, CON and Deflection, that is why I decided to Give more points to them. Between Resolve and Perception, I prefer to have higher Will then Reflex and it worked well. It gave me good all-around values in all three. TALENTS AND ITEMS THAT MADE THIS BUILD: As you can see I focused here or increasing my defensive rolls against almost every possible CC in-game. This cut all CC on me in game and in Endless Paths by HALF at least! And even if I had CC on me, its duration were mostly so short that it expired before enemy recovered from attack. Two underestimated talents here make it possible: Mental Fortress and Body Control. Add to it two more quest talents plus ring and you have insane defensive just with it. But that is not all how we boost it and protect ourselfs- TWO MONK ABILITIES WILL BOOST OUR DEFENSE AGAINST CC EVEN MORE! Abilities and Talents: Here is bread and butter of this build: 1. Duality of Mortal Presence giving us +8 to all defenses all the time. 2. Clarity of Agony (ANTI-CC): Awesome skill! It cuts EVERY negative status effect on you (all CC included) by half for 10 seconds!! It has instant activation and do not trigger recovery time. Against Petrify mobs or Vithracks it is live safer! Absolutly greatsynergy with this build. Use it when you fight against pack of CC mobs if you can't engade one at time. 3. Crucible of Suffering (ANTI-CC): It gives you +10 to Fortutude, Will and Reflex for 20 second each time negative effect expire on you. With our defensive rolls and Clarity of Agony it means perma +10 bonus that do not get in way woth your items bonuses to your defensives in fights against CC mobs. And it is passive. Superb! 4. Long Stride- + 2 movement speed in combat! Super skill- You kite your enemies to split them into smaller groups (further ones give up and return to previous postitions). Also very good skill to kite enemies to choke points/bottle necks to to eliminate mages/rangers before engaging melee enemies. Or just run till aggro finish. TAKE IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!! Passive. Whats not to love? 5. Rest Important Monk Skills were- Torments Reach (your main damage dealer in my game), Swift Attacks (most useful of rest useless stuff), Lesser Wounds for more Wounds, Savage and Vulnerable Attack for more damage, Weapon Focus: Peasant for Accuracy bonus. Talents I didn't bother with: Dual Weapon Talent- 20% attack speed I could easly get with Swift and I wasn't worth giving up anything I had on me. Turning Wheel- useless, I burnt every Wound for Torment Reach so stacking wounds just for this damage bonus is big loss in DPS. Rooting Pain- useless, Wounds are not generated fast enough on solo and damage is low. Rest. Results with all those defensive rolls and skill that cut CC by half was that CC time and number of CC on me was cut in-game by HALF at least compare to my other solo and party runs!! In fights I remember struggling to win becasue of CC I was now mostly storming through with breeze. I died only once in Endless Paths against Vithracks lider, because I used figurine in wrong moment. DAMAGE OUTPUT: Do not underestimate Tormets Reach!! NEVER! Even with 19 Might (16 base) I was out DPSing everything in Endless Path. Torment Reach is your main DPS. Our Deflection is just about enough to get Wounds. Remember: Tormets Reach damage type depend from weapon you have equiped. If you fight unarmed: TR will deal Crush damage, if you use Spears- Pierce, if you use Hatchets- Slash. As a Monk you do not need high Might. Torments Reach will let you dish out awesome DPS. I used only fists 99% for whole Endless Paths, switched to dual spears in level 14 sometimes. With Plate armor and 12 DEX and Savage attack your Recovery Time on Spears is quite long. However on fists with Swift is fast enough to out DPS most targets. And there are few enemies with decent Crush DR. GEAR: GEAR STATISTICS: Lilith Shawl: +3 Perception Sanguine Armor (Superb): +2 Dexterity Bracers of Deflection: + 10 Deflection Broad Belt of Power: +2 Might, +2 Resolve Ring of Protection: +10 Will, Fortitide and Reflex Orlan's Barble Ring (here nothing add directly to stats): +15 Hobbed, Paralyzed, Stuck Spears are: - Ritezzi's Thorn (Corrosive Lash, Valiant, Draining) - Danulya (Burn Lash, Speed 1.2) Hatchets: (They are also very good, they add +5 Deflection for each and stack!): - Reaghar Konnek (kith, Predatory, Speed) - Hearth Harvest (burn lash, Rending [3DR pass]) Of course figurines are must. You can't do some fights without using them for various of puropuse. Rest gear was to reach good Deflection and balanced defensives. One of most important item here is: Shod-in-faith boots, that trigger Consecrated Ground when enemy crit you- with Moon Godlike racial it is a lot of healing around you :D. More heal- more Wounds! More Torments Reach! Good Alternative to boots are: Animancer Boots, which hold 3x Jolting Touch spell in it. It is 3x per rest, its instant cast and its a "melee attack" so it benefit from all your bonuse damage modals. 3x Jolting Touch use is enough to win some hard fights if you feel like they might go wrong. Moon godlike is best race since you do not need Draining Weapons or Shod-in-faith boots that much. You can use your fists since Crush is in 80% time better damage as there is not much enemies with Crush DR and Animancer Boots are power-hose, ready to use ^^ And it suits my Character- shoting melee lightning in CQC ^^!! CONCLUSION: Awesome build with let you tank everything, defend yourself against CC and still dishout great DPS on enemies! It is however very end-game depend for soloing Endless Paths. You will have no problems playing crit path and all story quests. However leave Endless Paths 10+ levels for last when you will have 12 level and all talents and gear you need. Then go and have fun ^^. TIPS: Use Accuracy Potions, DR potions and all other potions but do not BUMP DEFLECTION HIGHER! You need Wounds to spam Torments Reach! With this you can go on everything in game . Cheers! EDIT: Added Geat Statisctis since I got some questions about it.

Generally moon godlike is just best for every class. However some classes can rely less on its self here. But if you plan to solo WHOLE gam, which also mean Endless Paths 1-15 and bounties and all side quests- moonlike self heal helps a ton! it is free 100-150 Endurance per fight. But as Wizard you will mostly rely on- AOE debuff, AOE CC and AOE nuking enemies before they can get to you. So if you know how- you should be fine with other race. However if you solo first time and you have not perfect knowledge about every encounter- moonlike is safest choice. Cheers!

Slicken, Expose Vulnerabilities, Confusion, Essential Phantom and Call to Slumber are pretty much the top of the class spells that don't really have an equivalent. Cipher has a few skills that are comparable, but the problem is a) casting time, b) they seem to get resisted more and c) Focus only allows typically for two casts in succession before needing to shoot your gun and pray you get the focus you need, and d) by that point, enemies can often be a bit more spread out than you want for your abilities, which almost all have a much smaller radius compared to Wizard spells. Of course, that's prior to Amplified Wave. But you're still talking level 11. Their biggest use is Mental Binding/Tenuous Grasp until then. Actually I wasn't debating but rather defending wizard's power there . As for Ciphers, their spells may "seem" to be resisted more to you, but actually a lot of their spells have higher accuracy and later on they have more ways to buffs their accuracy as well. Few good cipher CC you've missed prior to level 11: Mind Wave (needs proper positioning, but usually not a big deal), Puppet master, Ringleader. Wiz still wins in aoe CC and utility. Would be weird if he didn't. Cipher wins in spammability of his abilities. Another issue regarding "class balance" is how level nine and eleven are game changers for Druids, Wizards and Priests. You no longer have to worry nearly as much about saving spells. Once you hit level nine, the Cipher won't be casting too much more than either of those classes, unless you are fighting something that is taking a really long time. Until then, the Cipher is the Energizer Bunny of casters, but the gap is shorter at nine, and closed at eleven. But then you'll barely even need anything but Amplified Wave every other encounter at that point. Yeah, well, cipher still has the advantage of using their higher level powers on per encounter basis, as well as being competent with weapons, but if the level cap goes up to like 15 in expansion... Per encounter phantom/confuse/devotions of the faithful etc :D. Right now it's still more of less even. AW, being as OP as it is, still doesn't win some of the harder battles by itself. What he said. I found Ciphers OP in party, but solo... not at all. There are other classes which are much more powerful in what they are capable of dish out. Imo Cipher is not a problem. Imo other classes are worse in design. For example the whole camping supply system (which I stoped using thanks to IE mod long time ago) is totally out of place with per rest spell system for casters. Paladin auras buffs and radius are so small that it sucks. Rouges are not rouges really- no backstabing, hit and run smooth fun. Druids shapeshifts are underwhelming unless you download mods that boost them a little and make them last full fight duration. Etc. etc. Seems like many ideas were cool but they lost some time in process and didn't execute them well. That is of course my opinion.

Being below 50%? My Moon Monk is sometimes on 50%....and then he is healthy again... Magic! :0 I think the thread should be called: "Moon godlike monk kills slowly." Lol, like 20% more damage will make big difference in spaming Torment's Reach. I prefer to take additional 100-150 Endurace for free and few time more wounds for more CC/Torment's Reach that meaningless 20% damage bonus while being at 50%, which in fights against perma CC enemies means fast and painful death . Moon like racial is just always good it is like having 100-150 more Enduracne. If not for Fortitude rolls I would dump CON everytime I take Moon like since I will have more Endurace than any other race with 18 CON either way. But since on solo PotD defensive rolls are everything- CON must be high...

I can assure you that endless paths 1-14 would be a breeze on the build above. Sorry must of missed hovering over the spears. They are Superb (Had to kill Sky Dragon), with Vessel Slaying and Burning Lash enchantments. I did all side quests, including all bounties; some of which brought me very close to wiping. I found Shod-in-Faith boots more than enough to keep me up, most of the fights; also on solo, you should be able to invest in Endurance Potions at all time (as really there is nothing else to spend the gold on). EDIT: Removed previous quotes for readability Ok, give me some tips how would you fight with monk against petrify crystal spiders or perma-CC Vithracks? Once you are petrify against spiders- you are mostly insta-gibbed. If you could try it with your monk (endless paths)- that be great to see some footage and tips for it. There is very few materials around here about PotD Endless Paths solo that such information is worth gold Ow. And tell me you starting stat distribution points please. I know you dumped INT. I will jump on and try Endless Paths as soon as I have the ability to play. I can tell you that Vithraks are a huge pain, and dealing with them was not easy, though I don't remember having too much difficulties with Crystal Spiders. I have put up a post of my completion, with video and complete guide / strategies, make sure too check it out I am on it .

Not that I doubt- but if that is the case- why so many people say that Paladins are garbage in this game. I mean being able to solo Endless Paths for me is best to show which class rocks, which do not. If Paladin can outlast Endless Paths- then why people still say that they suck. I do not understand this... :/

Don't binding roots have an attack roll and duration though? Having doubts that ranger would be able to land it consistently enough. Base acc 63 + 12 level + 10 vicious aim + 10 potion = 100. Bout 30% miss chance. Also, how would you do any damage? Even arbalest would mostly just tingle the dragon. +5 Marksman, +5 Wood Elf, I think Eldritch Aim Potion's +15? Targets Reflex, which is the Adra Dragon's worst defence. Base Duration is 30s and you get 5/rest. Three Envenomed Strikes with a high-damage weapon would get you some of the way. Beyond that, you've got probably 2 minutes to just wail on the dragon. I expect it'd work out alright. Marksman doesn't work with spells, the potion is 5 more, yeah, wood elf would give another 5, so probably 10 higher. Still not convinced. Plus you have the ads to deal with as well. Ow, yes I forgot Chanter. This class can easly get Endless Path done (easy mean as easy as this achievement is for every other class). Crystal Spiders and every other paralyze/petrify mobs are pain even for retal barb. Sanguine plus Sura plus regen potion plus stack might, iron skin potion and Potion of Llengrath's Displaced Image. I had a lot of stealth so what I did was to get close, run inside pack of mobs (or lure them to part of area where I can be surrounded or bottleneck) and immiediety hit Stalwark Defiance, AOE Terrify from shout, buff and well...retaliate. I stacked as much Endurance and Condition as I could, since I knew that Defensives rolls won't help me much (even with 120 Fort/Will they still CC me...) Defiance plus regen potion did the job, debuff around was also nice. I was loosing health like mad, but also gaining it. Mostly mobs just nuked themselfs since it was like 5 hits for every mob around in first few seconds 30-50 each, and then fire from Battle Forged. I also had Second Chance ring on me. Also boots Shod-in-Faith help here. You can also try to nuke them with Jolting Touch from Animmancer boots but I wanted to keep it safe. Ow I went there level 12 mind me, so I that also matters. Moon god like would have it easier really. OSA might be broken but if they fix it- barb has nothing to do in solo PotD then. OSA is the only thing that make him good really. Shame, but thats reality. For example I don't think Monk could solo spiders or vithracks. You need ton of CC or insane AOE DPS for them. Although somebody here said that he did EPs with Orlan Paladin. I wonder then what was his tactic for crystal spiders and Vithracks. Paladin can have crazyass ref and fort for dealing with Adra. So crystal won't be able to land petrify on him. Vithracks are another story however, as they attack will with extremely high accuracy, and you can't max out all 3 saves. So they're more problematic but probably doable with heavy scroll usage. Yup, but ONCE you are petrify- you are done against spiders. Retal Bard can nuke them with OSA plus Carnage even beng CC'ed, but Paladin? I wonder if Fighter couldn't get higher defensive rolls then Pala. Moon Like pala sounds nice... How high defensives you need to be able to deal with Spiders or Vithracks CC?
-
Ranger is mistery for me also. He has awesome CC- binding roots, which target Reflex, which is not so hight defense in game like Fortitude or Deflection and can deal a lot of damage. What bother me is his pet. Is for example bear enough to tank some non-petrify mobs and pet is also pain- if it dies- you get a lot of penalties for it. I just tried monk level 11 in EPs and yea- retalitation on monk is not that hight and moon like help however being perma CC-ed in melee combat is pain, since it is almost impossible to dish out enough damage if you are perma-paralyze/stun. Maybe it can be done but I doubt that monk can do it.

Please I would like this thread to be kept in its main purpouse- which is clearing Endless Path 1-15- NOT TALKING TACTIC FOR KILLING ADRA DRAGON. There is another thread or 2 specify for Adra Dragon killing. I would like here to know class and build capable of clearing every mob pack in Endless Dragon 1-15. Ow, yes I forgot Chanter. This class can easly get Endless Path done (easy mean as easy as this achievement is for every other class). Crystal Spiders and every other paralyze/petrify mobs are pain even for retal barb. So question in thread- what is your experiance in completing 1-15 Endless Path solo on PotD, TC or not (doesnt matter) with particular class? From my experience that I can share- current OSA retalitation Fire/Moon Barbarian was able to kill every pack of mobs/bosses in Endless Path. Of course Adra was killed with petrify trap. Who of you, who played solo PotD with your class/build was able to kill everything solo in Endless Paths? Please share in short class/build, gear and tactics. Most important thing is in EP- how were you able to fight with packs of mobs who perma-stun/paralyze you? Retal barb was easy, since no matter of CC, he was doing AOE DPS. I know that gochargers2156 did it with Wizard on solo PotD. Please share you experience.
-
Can you please explain what does it mean in simple words? What is conclusion? It was really hard to hear you in video btw. You speak very quiet, at least for me. From what I think I understand is that 1.45 from enchant do not modify base damage but add as bonus damage like all other modals etc- is that correct? Thank you in advance for it!
-
You mentioned that you soloed PotD as Monk, Paladin and Wizard. Considering all games content, including Endless Paths 1-15 and bounties- which of those 3 classes you found to be best? Which you had easiest/smoothest solo? And if you can please share your monk stat distribution. Thank you! I just managed to beat Triple Crown Solo on Monk. I am planning to make a guide later on, but for now; here is the video (which shows stat distribution, items, and abilities/talents). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nkf5NPMe0vw Have you made all Endless Paths 1-15? That is very important for me. I don't like to play only crit path and Endless Dungeon are the biggest factor for me if build/class is good or not. If you can kill everything in endless path solo (of course apart from Adra, for you need petrify)- then build is good . Pale Elf? Hmm, If that worked then cool. Moonlike is too good imo on monk to pass And in the video you didn't show you spears, enchants on them etc. Can you tell me what spears did you use. I use Raz-something thorn (Draining) and D-something spear with 1.2 attack speed. Cheers!
-
I have my own immersion- thank you. And sorry but I beat this game solo Potd and TC enough that I know that in solo- it is plate or nothing. This is just how this game work. I prefer classic fantasy RPG monk theme- robes/cloth and fists or small weapons/long weapons, like kamas, spears, staffs etc. If I would like to wear plate I'd go Paladin or Fighter. I beat game solo PotD with Barbarian 2x, Rogue and Druid. Each time I had to use plate armor. There is no other way in solo. So, I get that Obsiadian take on Rogues is different, so if someone like Rogue in Plate Armor- fine with me. I don't. Lol...first of all- I stated in thread title - NOT LEGAL OBTAINED. Got the point before you got here? Second- I wrote that I found robe for ROLE PLAYING purpouse. For some of us this game is still RPG you know? I want to ROLE PLAY my monk. Plate armor do not allow me for enough immersion. This is to be used by those who would like to role play their monk more in game. You can use it but you do not have to. Cheats are here and you can't tell if someone used them or not. It is not MMO... And last this- you have nothing to say how I play my own single player game. I beat TC legal two time, beat game 4 times in total. Now I want to focus more on Role Playing and fun. I though someone who care more about role playing their char in RPG game then stats and numbers may appreciate it. Cheers. Actually, he can "say" whatever he likes about how you play your own game. You can just ignore him as much as you want. True. I stand corrected.
-
I have to say- I think Fire goldlike synergyze best with Barbarian. But now I have to say- moon godlike synergyze awesome with monk. Solo PotD. 3 Free heals, +1 DEX and +1 INT are also nice, although I keep my INT on 10. I had NO PROBLEMS beating bears in cave at level 3 with Torment Reach spam (since I got perma Wound from this bastard!) and now I am breezing through Eothas temple, I just killed Skuldor King and his boys just by Force of Anguish on him -> Torment Reach spam to AOE mobs in first try. Also it helps a lot that Monk has hight accuracy, deflection and endurance. Hmmm....Although I now play only for fun in solo PotD I might give it a go after it in TC. I am really liking this combo. I generate a lot of Wounds thanks to moon godlike free heals. Very good synergy intead I recommend

Hello, So we all know monks suffer in this game not having any decent echanted robes/cloth that could justify not taking Plate Armor. I am playing now my monk just for RP fun on solo PotD and I really did not want him to wear Plate but still having good DR. By accident I discovered this cloth: Its 10 DR, 0/12 Enchant, so you can enchat it and it has 0,15% recover time. In Description you can see -40% but this is wrong. I tested it using some other found cloth in game and it truly have -15% Recovery Speed, so you can still have super attack speed on your monk. If you want to have this item, download IE mod, install it. Press ` (tilde) in game and type the following: "Additem fampyr_cloth_armor 1" and you will get one. I think it is decent option for all of us who were dissapointed by lacking of decent cloth/robe gear for a monk in game. I know min-max is important, but this is still RPG game and I think that maybe it will give some players more joy from playing monk. Cheers!

I did not test them specifically together - but based on the separate tests I'm pretty confident to say yes .. Should be easy to spot too because the accuracy bonuses from both show up in the combat log .. Maybe the accuracy bonuses will suppress each other but the damage bonuses should stack for sure ( but then again extra 20% + 15 % of 11-16 base isn't earth shattering ) .. I was once testing Valiant with Spear and Shame or Glory sword but each time I felt below 50% HP nothing showed up next to my char portrait, nothing showed in log (like XXXX has actvated Valiant) or in Active Effects in character window. It is great to know that it actually work but do not show up, but it work! You just made me want to create human just for this spear or sword for 1.4 damage increase below 50% HP
