Or you can go for BG1, TotSC, BG2 and ToB with a BIG World Project, you'll need some reading but hey, you will have 1 game with more 180h of play and can do the whole story in 1 ride. The whole installation will take some time and you will have to choose mods, but hey, you'll have the greatest D&D rpg ever.

Reasons this game is un-finished
geobio replied to Mdalton31's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yes and no, Great graphics, seriously, here we got something above BGs, rest... meh There are insanly great ideas in this game, sadly they have been insanely bad designed. -
Clarification on St. Waidwen

Story is poorly written and I bet they don't have explanation on this. -
Hard mode is too easy.

Bad bad bad idea. Game is totally boring at some point. -
yeap. BG didnt have crafting, while in PoE you can make any item matching your needs. Looks pretty close to DA:I, maybe not as good but still very solid. People still repeating that to convince themself as if a "crafting system" have to be personnal to be considered as such. This closed view of how has to be crafting show the lack of knowledge about such feature, only that. BG series had a crafting system, it was not character binded, that is the difference.

It's like saying the players become the DM, does not make any sense, but I see your point. No more immersion, just fedex for everyone. I am really sad this is happening, for me crafting is part of the story, like in BG series were you hunted parts and then collect informations about them. Arguments ? Because you obviously never visited Cespenar. Being detailled, doesn't add nothing at all when there is no more immersion to it. I'm sure there were far less money invested in BG crafting system at the time, still it was thousand time better and immersive.

Hey everyone, Am I the only one seeing the crafting system a pure shame and an insult to RPG world ? And especially to BG series when you had to go see a Legendary dwarf Blacksmith and wait 1 Day to get awesome craft. Now you just Fedex any craft you want, I find that really insulting to any lover of RP, not even crating station or something, just your magic bag, like you have an auction house in your pocket. Seriously, are we going into idiocraty or what ? How could some of the Black Isle team drop a thing like that ? I still questionning myself on it, I am really disapointed. Regards,

I'm still looking for those rewards after finishing that temple. By the way, go on Blunt weapons with shade and wait for lvl 4 to be at ease, also a rogue with a crossbow help a lot, yes gamplay is totally oriented in this game, yes, that is sad.

Another great feature we lost from BG series, true. -
Why do camp sites disappear?
geobio replied to CameraLuv's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Mansen is so right, calling limitations, "design", is really bad faith to me. And you can see a lot of these limitations that make this PoE all but a spiritual successor of BG series. Not because graphics are here that the spirit follow .... -
Can 1 party member go stealth?
geobio replied to Mdalton31's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I have a real hard time to enjoy this game because of this specific mechanic and also the whole "combat mod" & "stealth mod". I said Half-finished because, combat & exploration represent half of the gameplay you go through, the other part being the story and NPC interaction. Yes it is beatiful and the story is great (so far) but being a lover of Black isle studios I can't understand those mechanics comming from the same guys who made those legendary games. We loose all freedom you could find on this games in term of party managment and that is a huge flaw. I'm serious when I say it stoped me to play it, I can't stop seing this flaw, while exploring. -
Will this game have PVP for endgame fun?
geobio replied to 8Gates's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Obviously you just don't know what player versus player mean, or, at least, have a narrow view of it. The fact that, at this time, we the players could enjoy it as a pvp feature. Cant EDIT: refer to previous posts. -

Man can you stop stalking people like this. Take 2 BG, create a game with a friend, and click attack to his char, you'll see something you never figured out maybe. I'm not eager to any pvp feature but I don't like people like you that bark to anyone not thinking like him. Cant EDIT: Refer to previous posts. -

I just hope they will patch that soon enought. It is one of the things that stop me playing this game, half finished. -

Baldur's gate, Baldur's gate 2, Icewindale, Icewindale 2 had multiplayer features, coop and pvp. Yet some smart people found it fun to come and bash those who question that thing, it is really funny in the overall how those smart people are not so smart at all.
