  1.

"That's not what 'These Boots Are Made For Walking' is about."

Doesn't matter what the writer intended, the song is about shoes (boots). Talk about a sexist anti woman song. Movie about strong empowered women and its theme song is about shoes. LMFAO

As for Dirty Dozen remake... as long as it focuses on the right kind of 'dirty'. If you know what I mean.

Even with fashionable shoes, they're going to walk all over you. Seems pretty empowered to me.

  2. I liked the Porgs. And I'm pretty sure Luke said it that way to be flippant. That aspect of his characterization was perfect, IMO. Maybe just saying it to be dismissive of people expecting him to be a hero, but also maybe showing disrespect for a weapon that's not really what a Jedi was about. Despite the prequels.

Oh yeah, I get it. It just... took me out of the movie? The term somehow feels like what an old grandpa who has only heard of Star Wars would say to make fun of their grand kids. I know it's been used in-universe before, even in the movies, but I suddenly felt as if the screen writer just hated Star Wars. :p

Might as well, since with Trump in charge it doesn't work anyway.

Ah yes.... because the government was working flawlessly before he arrived at the White House....

... and because everything the government does can be laid at the feet of the President, for they are 'in charge'.

Remind me, who just told the CDC 'evidence-based' is off the table?

It wasn't perfect before, but better shut it down than have Trump deliberately ruin it for everyone.

  4. Here's live footage of internet "muh free speech" warriors who freak out whenever someone points out that something might just be racist or sexist on the internet reacting to the government actually restricting speech and censoring an important agency from telling factual truths:

    EDIT:

My man George on point as usual.

  5. Trump administration officials are forbidding officials at the nation’s top public health agency from using a list of seven words or phrases — including “fetus” and “transgender” — in any official documents being prepared for next year’s budget.

Policy analysts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta were told of the list of forbidden words at a meeting Thursday with senior CDC officials who oversee the budget, according to an analyst who took part in the 90-minute briefing. The forbidden words are: “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based” and “science-based.”

And the left is the thought police who will censor you.

Q: Missed the news, there was a radicalized Trump supporter shooting up a school in New Mexico this week?

  6. So.. they did exactly what they did in part 7. EPIC FAIL. Thankfully, I don't waste my time and money on these until I can watch them for free on tv because it seems they made the same exact decisions as the first one  which hurt the experience.

Not really. Part 7 was a loose remake. This one pretended to be a remake with every development and then, for better or worse, dumped some twist on it.

  7. Not really spoiling anything, but tags just in case:

There's honestly one subplot that felt pointless and probably bogged down the runtime. Everything else was expertly paced, seamless and filled with surprising directions. I'm just not sure I liked those directions.

I will say this, those expecting a loose remake of ESB? Yeah, that's what they want you to think.
