I never said poppy hooks are evil. Eels are my favourite artists and they have poppy hooks all over the place. Hipocrisy is, though, and fact is that Nirvana's corporate rock aspirations were just as glaring as any other band from the so-called 'grunge' era. Nirvana is only even remembered because Kurt shot himself in the head, man. If he hadn't, people would only remember them as the band that ripped of the Melvins and the Pixies so much. Besides, Kurt made a point to call anyone who came close to Nirvana's sales a sellout. That's how punk rawk he was. Too bad he never looked back on his own annoyingly catchy pop hooks. By the way, for those interest, most of the Blizzard North guys up and left Blizzard to start Flagship Studios who are now making a futuristic fps version of Diablo called Hellgate: London.

Now, I've played every Blizzard game they've ever made down from Lost Vikings, and I gotta say it's because they take things from other people and alter them so they're unique but still reminiscent from what they're taken from. Prime example would be StarCraft which in many ways can be described as an alien vs. predator RTS. People easily get familiar with something if they're actually already used to it. EDIT: I meant RTS, not FPS.
