  1. Really? Maybe they're just more known here in holland. I know a lot of people who listen to bands like KoRn and Linkin Park and throw in some Against Me! right there. Which is also why I never checked them out. Maybe I should.
  2. They want a better standard of living and they go to America? (w00t) EDIT: Man, every time I read this topic title my brain gets confused trying to figure out what word it is and settles on 'botulism'.
  3. That's fine with me. I would be much happier if they found something new to complain about every now and again. They're just so repetetive now.
  4. I'm pretty sure nothing by Against Me! is obscure, Baley. I personally prefer the version "Chloe Dancer / Crown Of Thorns" because the intro fits perfectly and allows for much more build-up to the climax. Also, I didn't say your tastes were very obscure, just more obscure than mine.
  5. I have asthma and it's never bothered me. That's not why I'm against smoking. I'm against smoking because if people stop smoking the whining bastards who keep complaining about smoking will shut the hell up about it.
  6. I did know that. Rumours are circulating that they're going to kill the character off because Iwamatsu died. I don't really know how to feel about that. I mean, I doubt anyone will be able to do him as well, but it's sad because he's one of the funniest characters in the show. Hey, for those who care about voice acting; veteran actor Jason Isaacs does General Zhao in the first season, and Mark Hamill does the voice of the fire lord (voice acting aficionados will probably like that one; he was The Joker in the old Batman show). Also, whenever Avatar Kyoshi appears she's voiced by Jennifer Hale (a.k.a. Bastila).
  7. I did. Didn't work.
  8. Not many of those men were Asian. If I remember correctly, at the start of DBZ none of the major players were human anymore. That really bothered me. It went from mythologically influenced (Dragon Ball mirrors Journey To The West in many ways) to lame science fiction.
  9. We could always choose half of the books we read. One year we had to read five books for english (not a lot, I know, but it's not our main language here so it's not so important) and we had to read "Lies Of Silence" (boring), and "Fight Club" (awesome). For the other three I picked "The Lord of the Rings" (both boring and awesome at the same time), "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" (funny) and "Jurassic Park" (easy reading and good for a dinosaur nut).
  10. Bulldingo. I'm Dutch, but I've tried to learn German and I failed at that so badly, yet I learned English without even trying by simply watching a lot of cartoons and movies undubbed without subtitles. (And to the person who said english was difficult; I'm sorry, but I have to say that just makes you stupid. I'm dyslexic in my mother tongue, but look at my english.)
  11. But, well, you're Hades. I finished yesterday too. I can't wait for the next one. To compensate for the mid-season break, it'll be a double ep!
  12. No, I meant his top ten in total.
  13. Yeah, I hadn't read the book when the movie came out, and besides, it gave me more dinosaurs, but I didn't mind much. I didn't really like the second book. Some of it was kinda stupid. Like the whole villain plot to TAKE THREE GUYS, WALK AROUND THE ISLAND WITH NO EQUIPMENT AND STEAL EGGS. I mean, maaaaan... The major problem with The Lost World was the King Kong sequence.
  14. Actually, I take that back. I like languages like japanese and arabic, which both sound and look different. However, all the western alphabet language have to go.
  15. You out-indie me so much. (By this I mean your music is much more obscure than mine; not that you listen to much more indie rock) Metallica - Leper Messiah
  16. I don't see why people don't just start teaching english to the entire world. (And english isn't even my first language.)
  17. Well, if everyone else is making lists, here's my favourites, also known as 'top 10' (not in order). I generally listen to at least one of these albums every day (and am, in fact, listening to Master Of Puppets - "Disposable Heroes" right now.)
  18. I remember there was an Ultimate X-Men/Ultimate Spider-man Crossover where Wolverine and Spider-man accidentally switched bodies. Wolverine lost some fingers. They grew back. This really bothered me, because... how can adamantium bone be cut off, let alone grow back?
  19. The third did not instill me with confidence in the series. Neither did the script reviews of number four. Trained dinosaurs? (Actually, King Kong was a pretty good dinosaur movie if viewed as such.)
  20. It's sad that love and hate always end up being negative when put together. Because you can love hate or hate love.
  21. This movie disappointed me so much. I haven't seen a good dinosaur movie since The Lost World, and I seem to be the only one who liked that.
  22. I'm sorry to say that I'm not. I only get the dutch version of Nickelodeon, and the dutch dub is so horrible that instead I just downloaded it. I am hoping to get a DVD soon. Also, I more meant it in the way that people who like DBZ outgrow it when they turn fourteen, not that everyone under fourteen likes DBZ.
  23. That's because nobody over fourteen likes DBZ. But this isn't just 'throwing wind' at people. All four elemental 'bender' (basically, they can manipulate their element) fighting styles are modeled after actual martial art styles. The water-benders, for example, are based on Tai-chi. They're martial arts moves extended by an element, basically. Pixies, it seems to me that it is generally more rewarding as a whole instead of episode per episode. When you watch one episode, you generally only get the self-contained conflict of that particular episode. When watched in the right order you can follow the story of the war and how it affects the characters, which definately overshadows the smaller conflicts. Also, it's pretty funny at times. This is a welcome relief from anime shows like Naruto whose humor repetoire consists generally of sexism and fart jokes.
  24. Dammit. That's odd. Anyway, the picture is of a creature that appeared in the season finale. It's called 'The Face Stealer' and it's basically a giant talking centipede who lives in a dark place and, well, steals peoples faces. I can't really describe it.
  25. Works fine for me. Go here: http://www.musogato.com/avatar/pics/spirit-koh.jpg
