He was last seen teaming up on a girl with FullMcIntosh himself. He also recently tweeted: "Why are people spreading the lie that I never apologized for things I said as a teenager? I've done so repeatedly". I don't believe I ever said he didn't apologize, but I maintain that the apology was A) insincere pacification for the sake of not being blacklisted and B) not even remotely close to sufficient atonement. But I guess he's going to keep maintaining the opinion that he's atoned for his **** and people only dislike him because he "made some silly mistakes as a kid". Here's the truth: He hasn't. You don't ****ing just shake off promotion of genocide and holocaust denial. He has not redeemed himself and parroting ridiculous rich kids with zero credentials who pretend to be "progressive" will not do so either. The most scathing condemnation of Mr. McIntosh and others such as himself isn't anything they do, it's the company they keep. If I can be condemned via guilt by association with "misogynists" simply for tweeting with a hashtag and asking questions about journalistic integrity, then what are they for actively conversing and agreeing with a self-proclaimed Nazi sympathiser?

I believe you mean the lady who goes by the name Cameralady. There was also the female pro-GamerGate writer who was harassed by people sending false allegations of plagiarism en masse to her book resellers (such as Amazon) and Christina Sommers deputy, Cathy Young. Also, if you're counting self-identity, no, they do not have a full asian. That asian has made it completely clear in the past that he identifies as white, not asian.

The harassment he's been getting is absolutely despicable. It is the clearest indicator that those against GamerGate cannot claim any higher moral ground out of guilt by association as the side "representing" and "associating with" them is by far as bad if not worse than the fringe lunatics identifying as the GamerGate side. If guilt by association (I recall I was called a "useful idiot" for supporting GamerGate) was ever a viable argument (hint: it's not) that argument has long been taken away.

Words can't express the surprise I feel at encountering straw feminist clichés from the mouths of self-professed 'equalists'. You can start by offering critique to Christina Sommers. She's been doing research on that for years. He's got a bit of a point though. This defining and redefining of words only serves to make things muddier. I sometimes get the idea reading this thread that people here consider feminism, by itself, to be a completely negative thing. I wonder how people here would consider Christina Sommers to be "not a feminist", but rather an equalist, yet blew fire when FullMcIntosh mainsplained that she wasn't a feminist. Here's the thing, I know feminists. Real life feminists. The vast majority of them are reasonable, smart, lovely people. Yes, the radicals have soured the movement but hey, so have radicals in GamerGate. Fun fact: I still consider myself to be a feminist, although I hesitate to make that claim here (which is sad). The thing is, I can be a feminist, in my personal definition someone who wants to women to be treated equally, and still care about men's rights as well because that is a huge part of being equals. You can consider yourself both a feminist and an egalitarian (I hesitate to use the word equalist, Legend of Korra soured that term somewhat haha). One does not preclude the other. Have some feminists (Sarkeesian included) soured the movement, or even the word? Hell yeah. But like GamerGate, feminism isn't an institution with leadership and I am bloody well not responsible for misandrists in the same way that I'm not responsible for fringe lunatics sending death threats to Zoe Quinn. I'd wager Christina Sommers' school of feminism, equity feminism, is very much concerned with women not being superior. An equity feminist will see that it's unfair that fathers have very little rights in custody cases, because they will recognize that while the man is being treated unfairly, so is the woman albeit in a different way. I don't see the point of throwing terms around and turning them into labels when the only thing you really need to do to be a feminist or a GamerGater is say "I am a feminist" or "I am a GamerGater". Again, you can be both (and for the record, though I briefly thought it would be a good idea not to identify as someone who supports GamerGate because it might allow me to speak to some of the "antis" and actually discuss real issues, I changed my mind on that and it has my full support). I think the constant attacks on feminism as a whole rather than just on the spoiled brats who misuse it is a real shame and isn't really that different from the whole "Gamers are Dead" sentiment. That said, I think some of you guys hating on feminism is understandable since the vocal feminists tend to be people like Sarkeesian. In my opinion, she and her writer (note that she had no real arguments to make in the Colbert show because McIntosh wasn't there to put the words into her mouth, real feminist that guy) are more harmful to feminism, gender equality and inclusiveness than anything else. I just think it's a real shame this has become gamers vs feminism rather than gamers vs moral authoritarianism. Also, wasn't that Decado guy a member here?

By the way, Gotham is the most frustrating show ever. It's got nice design and good actors... but is tonally all over the place and it might as well be beating me in the face with a "THIS IS A BATMAN CHARACTER" for... literally every character in the show! The only reason I'm still caring at all is because the actor who plays Oswald Cobblepot cracks me up.

Since making fun of them is, according to them, harassing them and harassing them gets them publicity, I'd say it's pretty counterproductive and I also don't share your enthousiasm for being giddy when people act like jerks. It's like when GG treated the Fez scandal as a victory when all I'm seeing is a clear demonstration of things being terrible. Maybe it's just that the entire thing is making me very, very cranky at this point.

I was going to post this: You know what, though? I've made a big stink already about how these journalists are signal boosting trolls. Well, guess what, these guys, these spoiled brats who project their own privelege and entitlement on everyone else, are signal boosted whenever GamerGate attacks or make fun of them. That's what they spin into harassment. Maybe it would be best for everyone to just stop signal boosting them? Every pro-GamerGate person that tweets to them, posts about them or even mentions their name is making their own job harder. And to be fair, I still stand by that sentiment... but when I read this: I just completely lost it. I mean, what. What without a question mark to show exactly how ****ed up this is.
-
I see the rhyme but I don't see what you're saying.
-
Because with a reasonable host, they'll lose the debate. I don't see where I asked why. I know exactly why, because they're intellectually dishonest cowards who are so insecure in their opinions that they don't want to risk anyone forcing them to actually think about it. That doesn't make it any less frustrating.
-
I'm so tired of this. Whenever they actually have to talk to anyone, they either pass or claim it's a hit piece. Come on.
-
Not even that. It saw a hot button issue where it could offend people for some easy publicity. It's a scavenger. A subhuman creature. She is not holding a megaphone, she is a megaphone. I know what she said and considering it is completely stupid I've elected to restructure it. She is not an object, as much as she literally objectifies herself. Don't see me saying "I am a candle" do you? I can't believe someone who will say that can hold a job as a writer. It must be easier than I thought.

What a load of ****. Nobody's coming to take away his video games. I support GamerGate, but that's just overdramatic nonsense. That's not even on the table. The mythical "SJW" doesn't have that power, that's why they rely on journalism to spread misinformation and push anvilicious, moralizing games. The fact that most reviewers still give GTA games super high ratings shows exactly how powerless they are against the capitalist machine. Leigh Alexander may be holding a megaphone, but if she takes on the Steam train she'll get just as splattered over the track as the guy who doesn't.

I haven't played a game in a week. Take that, silly buggers.

The Descendants. Good movie, realistic characters. Thought it was gonna be a sappy drama but it was great.
-
Done. I'm approve of the harassment patrol.
-
I hope you guys confirm it's fake otherwise I'm going to have to go in roach infiltrator mode and destroy the human race again.
-
I really, really hope that was fake.
-
As a dutchman, I believe the stereotype would be that I would be too busy focusing on the pavement to see if I can find change.
-
So the video is two minutes out of ten hours? I get as many weird people bothering me if I walk around for ten hours.

While I agree that he gets off lightly and I seriously disagree with some of the things he does, he does at least try to defend his practices without, for the most part, attacking anyone else and he's put himself available for discussion. As one of the few who has been willing to do so, he's earned a certain amount of respect. He's also incredibly clear on that he doesn't want some of these things that GamerGate is against to happen again, such as when GamerGate says "disclose if you're donating to a patreon", he takes it further with "if it breaks trust, we're not going to do it at all anymore". He's not giving in to demands, but he's made concessions and engaging in dialogue when the majority of the journalists, editors and outlets involved have had radio silence other than "nuh uh, if you criticize me at all you're a misogynist". This is a start. The fact that this dialogue is taking place and TotalBiscuit decided to let him say his piece and did not turn it into a hit piece is something that I respect, even if some of the opinions and actions are things I do not. I think the major problem in this debate is that it's been such an enormous cluster**** of demonisation and dehumanisation and I think this is a step in the right direction when it comes to trying to fix it and even though this was a fairly defensive showing of Mr. Totilo, at least he showed.
-
I'm going to agree with Barothmuk that feminism can't be completely defined by radicals. I think it's dishonest to say so while railing against people completely defining GamerGate by radicals. But at the same time, these GamerGaters have seriously damaged the movement in the eyes of the public as the radical feminists have. Ironically, they're the same thing. I think most if not all GamerGaters would accept this definition: What definition people accept does not often correlate with the perception of them, or even how they act.
-
Props to Stephen Totilo for coming to talk to TotalBiscuit. Also, game developer Adrian Chmielarz made an interesting post regarding why he is starting to lean Pro-GamerGate: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sdmj1k

This is the part where I make a rare statement of personal condemnation: What I don't understand is that they're perfectly fine letting Stillgray speak for them. Do they just not know who he is? Have they bought into his nonsense about how gamers made him a Nazi sympathiser and his claims that he is no longer a holocaust denier? Because I don't believe he has owned up to the things he did and said, I don't even believe that he has left those things behind. If I wasn't already pro-GG, Stillgray speaking against it would have made me so. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's open and proud Nazis. Thirty years in a convent isn't enough to atone for the **** this disgusting piece of human filth has said and done. It makes me so mad that someone like that can pretend to have the high moral ground. Any ground he stands on is tainted by very definition.
