Will the manual be updated?
I realise it is probably not meant to be updated, it just would have been cool... Since they will update a manual errata page, I thought it isnt such a big difference to keep a .pdf file updated as well. Gamepedia could be a good source yes, but its not really updated yet, however that will hopefully change from tomorrow.

Will the manual be updated?
With the manual 'released' now, the contents are not correct and based on older version of the beta. I know there is a manual errata. But I was wondering, will Obsidian update the manual (.pdf) with correct information at some point? And how about for possible future patches with change of mechanics? Or is this version just IT?

Pillars of Eternity #2 on steam top sellers
Cmon guys, lets put it on #1!

PRE-LOAD is now available!
I wonder if Cymelion is a troll or just toxic person?
-
Pre-load question...
The download is only 6 gigs because its compressed, the installer will install the whole game and that will be 18 gigs. So no, ofcourse you wont have to download another 12 gigabyte. Keep in mind however, as others already stated here, that there will probably be a day 1 patch. That might be up to 1-2 gigabytes (since as far as I know, Pillars of Eternity patches aren't very efficient on steam).

PRE-LOAD is now available!
Sadly no, I just downloaded it completely and can't access any extras. I also looked it up in the steamfolder, but its just some encrypted files.

PRE-LOAD is now available!
Yeah, steam just turned on preload, I could start the preload after I updated Steam (from the daily? update I guess) And since I already have a key (I pre-ordered) and got Pillars of Eternity sitting in my library, I could start downloading. Download is almost finished now, but am pretty sure it's just some encrypted file anyway (locked box). Nothing to fuss about too much backers!

PRE-LOAD is now available!
Just rebooted steam and am downloading the game right now Note: The download size is 6gb. Total game when installed is 18gb. Any extras (e.g. documentary, almanac etc.) are not accessible yet, the pre-load is just an encrypted file. EDIT: just for some clarification quoting Brandon Adler:
-
will pre-orders be able to preload on steam as well?
I suppose nobody knows for sure yet?

will pre-orders be able to preload on steam as well?
Ok, how about the manual? Or will that be 'locked' too?

will pre-orders be able to preload on steam as well?
I pre-ordered the champion edition on steam. With Brandon Adler confirming backers will be able to preload today, will people who pre-ordered the game be able to preload the game today as well? I would love to be able to see the documentary for example, which is in my champion edition. Or at least download the game already.

Can I RP a diplomatic aumaua barbarian?
I was wondering if this might be possible in PoE mechanics? I really like to play this game for story and RP reasons, it doesn't need to be a perfect build, but must be at least decent so I won't have any big troubles in combat etc. My general idea would be to play an Island Aumaua Barbarian, in combat he is all enraged and big hitter, but outside of combat he is actually quite intelligent and rational. So in dialogues he can choose often for the rational or diplomatic option. His background could be like a bodyguard in Vailian Republics. So he knows how to do combat but also grew up around smart and governing people. General attributes would be mostly in: Might, Constitution and Intelligence. All good stats for a barbarian in this game I have heard. Is just having high intelligence enough for these non-combat RP?

Does PoE have cinematics?
Ok thanks for the answers. So maybe opening cinematic only, nobody knows for sure? Its understandable if there isn't more due to costs. Also it's not most important, but it would have been a nice extra

Does PoE have cinematics?
Like title says. As far I have seen it doen not have it? Would be nice to see some good cinematics depicting key events in the story for example?

Please introduce auto slow-mode option
Great! :D

Melee or ranged rogue?
I was wondering, why would you go melee rogue? As far as I know, all the skills (except maybe 1 (riposte?) or 2) are not limited to one or the other. Being in melee range seems to be more dangerous in general, and the rogue should be able to dish out same damage when ranged fine?

What do we know about the music by now?
I've read some discussions about the soundtrack. For example the one about the main theme (with orchestra). There aren't many other known pieces? Only thing I found is this on YouTube: It contains 3 pieces of over 2 years old. I surprisingly really like them! Especially the third one "Dirge of Eir Glanfath". I always liked these kind of chanting themes about old forgotten civilizations Will this still be in the game? And are there any other known pieces by now?

Pillars of Eternity: Prima Official Game Guide for Backers
Question related to this: anyone knows if the strategy guide will be sold out? Or they keep having supply for a while? Reason why I'm asking this: as Im planning to play the game for a bit to know 100% sure if I will like it and play a lot, then I will buy the strategy guide.

What would YOUR perfect party of 5 be? (Races and classes)
Seems like a pretty standard/solid party yes

New guy: manual or ruleset available already?
Hello, like title says. I only recently discovered this game. A quick search didn't answer my question. What I'm particularly interested in, is in simple answers to how combat mechanics work (compared to dnd for example). Also, little things like, how many camping supplies can you bring? Based on what? Also I would just like to read some stuff in advance already. I suppose a manual, FAQ, or ruleset isn't available yet? If not, is there some compiled source made by backers already? Please let me know! EDIT: sorry, I just read: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70532-any-faq-that-explain-the-basic-mechanic-of-the-game/ and most of my questions has been answered there (after reading through it multiple times, it was kinda complex for me). Mod you can delete this thread.

Can I play this with 3-4 chars?
Hello, I found out about this game pretty recently. And I'm stoked! I think I will really love this game! :D But there is 1 thing I always didn't really like, and that is having many characters to manage. Would I be able to play this game with just 2-4 characters? Is it pretty do-able? (I will try to optimize those characters ofcourse). Or do I have to have a full party? :/ Which would kinda suck..
