  1. So Sean Avery was told that he "doesn't need to show up to games or practices" anymore by his AHL team. Funny how one agitator loses his hockey career while another (David Clarkson) winds up having (what should be) a 30 goal season.

  2. I'd say spots 2 through 8 are still up for grabs. There's about three or four teams on the out looking in who could easily squeak into the playoffs with a hot streak.

Personally I'd like to see either Buffalo or Tampa get in, although they have about as good a chance as Winnipeg of making it out of the first round.

I'd like to see Tampa get in...I'd be pretty worried if Buffalo did. Miller's ability to steal games is not something I want to mess with in the playoffs.

  3. I had no idea Kovalchuk can fight.

I was gonna mention this in my post actually. Because of how skilled Kovalchuk is, I think people overlook the physical aspect of his game. He hits like a freight train. He's put more players into the bench this year than any other Devil and at 6'3 230lbs...You don't want to mess with this dude.

  4. Eight ****ing points for the Oilers Sam Gagner tonight. 22 years old, fifth season in the league, and now he ties the franchise record for points in a game.

He's been the subject of a few trade rumors this year. I bet his value has just shot up!

Was watching that unfold through my NHL app all night as was hoping you were watching!

Devils overcame a 2-0 defecit to beat the Habs tonight at home. Patrik Elias might face a review/suspension for one of his hits I think...Only a 2 minute minor on the play but it was kind of bad. Oh well. 2 points for us. Parise with 2 goals.

  5. Got Skyrim over break from University...Wound up playing like 4 hours of it (too easily entertained by Gears 3 multiplayer), and was busy seeing friends and family for most of the break so I didn't really have time to get into it. Probably will play this summer when I can devote a solid amount of time to it.

  6. RANGERS ARE HOLDING AVERY HOSTAGE! FREE AVERY! DOWN WITH BLUESHIRTS!

Seriously, it's absolutely disgusting you would abuse someone in such a manner. It may be their 'legal' right but it's immoral. DISGUSTING!

Then again, I shouldn't be surprised sinc ethis is the same stupid team who chose Old Man Gretz over their SC winner Messiier and the pathetic team that allowed Captain JJ to walk because they had the asanine notion he couldn't play in the NHL anymore and woeren't willing to give him a 3 year contract.. that was 4 eyars ago.. and guess what 9despite some injury issues) he's still playuingh in the NHl damn good.

My god. If it wans't for us having the best goalie in the NHL, this team would be damn worthless and uncheerable. :(

So you're basically just rooting for Lundqvist?

  7. I've been planning my big summer RV trip. I think we've got it worked out. I'm going to head up to Tillmook, Oregon for a couple days and do the factory tour as well as enjoy their ice cream. Then we will head to Washington and take a Ferry across to Vancouver Island (with the RV, which will be neat.) We will psend a week on the island, a few days in Victoria and a few days further north near Nainamo. We will take another ferry across to Canada, and then start the long drive home, stopping in Salem for a couple days.

I'm pretty excited, it looks like about a 16 day trip. I'll start making the reservations in march, but I like to have a plan early.

    That sounds awesome!

  8. Size matters but he's already proven he can play with bigger guys.

I don't trust you. You've given me no reason to. All you are is some randoms tranger on the net tylling me trust them.. just like some 50 year old man telling a 13 year old girl that he's 15 and she should trust him.

    NO!

Size doesn't matter a smuch as you think it does. Hockey experts know this. TRUST ME.

Only you would find a way to relate this conversation to pedophilia. You truly are the final boss of the Internet.

  9. "pretty small."

So irrelevant and such a lame cupout criticism. Whenever someone uses he's 'small' to criticize and bash a player it justw eakens everything becuase it just comes acorss as desperate and ignorant. So many exmaples of so called 'small' players being successful it's beyiond ridiculous. If he can perform at the NHL level (which if the stats you gave is accurate he can) he can perform at that level.

Size matters in hockey, if you had ever played the sport at a competitive level you'd know that. I never claimed it was insurmountable, but it makes it considerably harder to break into the NHL if you are 5'7 (like Zuccarello).

  10. I just dropped by to say I know nothing about icehockey, but that Mads Zuccarello Aasen should be promoted to New York Rangers from their farmerteam. Clearly his Norwegian talents are needed!

(Seriously though, is he good enough to play for them? Heard he's done really well in the AHL league.)

He played for the Rangers a bit last year...23 points in 42 games, which is far from bad. He's a solid player but he's pretty small.

  11. Winter Classic was pretty solid. I absolutely love Mike Rupp and it was nice to seem him bury 2 today. Despite my hatred for both the Rangers and the Flyers I was happy to see the Rags win, because I think I hate the Flyers just a little bit more.

In other news, the Devils gave up a 2-0 lead to lose in overtime to the Senators.

  12. Vacationing in Florida and got to see the Panthers play tonight

Went to see Montreal at Ottawa last night. Lots of Habs fans in attendance, mostly drowned out the Sens fans. The only thing both sides put aside their differences to cheer together for was when the out of town scores came up showing Toronto losing to Florida. :(

Also, finally a Habs win! Anderson was playing terrible though. 4 goals on 7 shots.

Speaking of the out of town fans...Leafs fans are crazy. The "go leafs go" chant was so loud in Florida I can't imagine what it's like in Toronto.

:p When I lived down there I had season tickets, at the Miami Arena in '96-'97 and in the new arena in Sunrise for a few years. From Nov-Feb the Rangers, Habs, & Leafs had a home ice advantage there because of all the snow birds. What did you think of the arena by the way. I've always thought it was the nicest one I've been in.

I've only ever been in The Prudential Center (devils) and MSG...But Florida's was definitely nice. Similar to The Prudential Center, food was prety good too!
