  1. I don't see the connection. Pointing out that some people act ridiculously and targeting specific people on twitter is not the same thing.
  2. And we don't want people to do that, don't we? They should keep their stupid opinions to themselves.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhDPFJENqBc#! It's hilarious how touchy GGer's are. Just read the comments. Pakman's a jerk and a weasel because he didn't praise our lord and saviour GamerGate. TYT and Cenk are literally Fox News because they were mean to their hero Karen... Are those grown up people or a bunch of children? I mean come on... Though to be fair to GG, they're not the only ones. Other side is equally ridiculous.
  4. Yes, there are some people who would **** on you no matter what you say. But there're also people who would listen, and i think there's a lot more of them than extrimists. So it is important to actually say things. But at the end of the day, you distance yourself from crazies because they are crazy. I don't think you need any more reasons.
  5. What does it matter what others say?
  6. Was that sarcasm?
  7. Huh? I'm failry certain that PCGamer or any other sites don't "only write polemics about progressive issues". Those are just editorials that don't affect the usual flow of things. Where did i say that i want people to shut up? I specifcally said i want to see dialogue. What i find funny is that there's a "consumer revolt" of people who don't even consume the things they are revolting against. I'm not saying not to care, i'm just saying don't be ridiculous.
  8. "Their purpose"? I'm sorry, but who dicedes what is and isn't their purpose? You, Nonek? I will say it again, they have the right to do whatever the hell they want. And that means whatever the hell they want. Your or mine disagreement doesn't mean anything. Logical outcome here would be to simply vote with you wallet. If you don't like content produced, leave the site. Simple as that. And i can say the same Hurlshot said. So what that someone said "gamers are dead" or whatever it is? It doesn't affect me in any way shape or form. Leigh Alexander is an idiot and that's the end of the conversation. I don't feel the need to scream corruption from the rooftops just because she was mean to me. You know, the funny thing is that i agree with you. But can not support you. What i want to see is discussion, dialogue, people trying to find ways (calmly and rationally) to do something about it. And i mean dialogue with opponents, not circle jerking each other. But what i see for the most part is either people who believe mocking the ones you disagree with is the way to go, or people like Nonek, who think this is the biggest crisis in humanity's history since Hitler. Or close to it. Bring it down a bit, Gamergate is not Watergate. All this is is the natural evolution of medium that is still largely in its infancy. Nothing more, nothing less.
  9. Again, they have every right to do whatever the hell they want. What you're saying are guidelines. Not everyone follows them, and not everyone agrees with them. What we don't have the right for is to dictate who has the right to what. Also, just because you disagree with what they wrote, doesn't mean they are "corrupt, unethical and part of a hate movement". It takes a little more than a few articles to say something like that about someone.
  10. Lol, they have the right to preach anything to anyone. And i do mean they have the right. By law they do.
  11. Says who? Also it seems you have no problem with judging, so why it's ok for you but not for them?
  12. Can you sound a bit less dramatic? People having opinions aren't a nazi apocalypse just yet.
  13. Well how exactly it is more than damaging?
  14. So basically you haven't done anything, yet you say "we". I guess it's nice to think of yourself as crusader for justice without actually having to do anything.
  15. Thank you for what? I asked you a question. What have you actually done besides using #gamergate?
  16. What you personally have done?
  17. I hope you didn't just compare yourself to Colbert. Are we really going to equate something that is basically a step below (or above, what's the right word here? )of actual harrasment with professional political satire? And what's up with you and laws? Hate speech is protected in US too as far as i know. Yet i don't think you're going to defend it. Who do you think you are? Do you honestly believe that sending few random messages to random people would actually do something other than anger them? Do you honestly believe that this "slacktivism" as TB calls it compares to any real political activism? What change do you expect to happen by adding more fuel to the fire? You absolutely do spread hate. If not directly then inderectly. The only way out of this situation is dialogue. And that's what you're destroying by antagonizing people. If you're not interested in it yourself, don't make it worse for others at least.
  18. Where did i say that they are equivalent? I didn't. More or less, you're still wrong, that's the point. Because you can't tell someone to be better, while spreading the hate yourself. Look in the mirror first, then tell others what they should and shouldn't do.
  19. How is it absurd? Wrong is wrong. Being less wrong doesn't make you right. It's a simple consept, nothing absurd about it. And again, believe whatever you want. Just don't pretend that you care about ethics. Because you don't. I do, that's why i don't mock people. That's why i try to promote calm and rational discussion instead of throwing **** at each other.
  20. You can believe whatever you want as far as i'm concerned. But then don't put yourself on some kind of moral pedestal. It makes you a hypoctire, because what you're saying is neither moral nor ethical.
  21. Where exactly did i say that i put it on par? I said that being less wrong doesn't make you right.
  22. Right, you're not totally crazy, just a bit crazy. Personally, i'm not interested in bigger or lesser evil. Whether you send death threats, or "simply" mock people for their actions, makes no difference to me. You're both wrong.
  23. If you think that mocking anyone is in any way shape or form exceptable, then there's something wrong with you.
  24. It's not a "heinous offense". It just means that you're not that much better then the people you're laughing at.
