  1. Depends on your relative position. If you are from the east say China, it's more occidental; and if you are from the west say Europe, it's more oriental; and if you are from the opposite surface of the earth say America, you become very confused... I guess that's why it's called the "Middle" East, then. ^_^
  2. Wow, I see internet humor is not your forte. It was a joke, genius. I'm not ruling out the Bears just because they're an NFC team. But even you have to admit that as a whole, the AFC is a better conference than the NFC. Besides, you of all people shouldn't be criticizing anyone for a lack of football knowledge. Also, it would do you good to learn how to use the quote function once in your life.
  3. The Bears' D is overrated. Plus they're an NFC team. GO COLTS!
  4. Of course not. We have to be respectful to other viewpoints on this forum. " I do have a question though that is kinda off-topic. Would the Middle East be considered more occidental or oriental?
  5. I can see now why you couldn't figure out how to deactivate the ministore...
  6. But it's cheaper. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions people. I think I know where I want to order it now, but I have one last question. Is there any disadvantage or difference in buying an OEM as compared to a normal retail version? That's what I'll end up buying since they're all so cheap.
  7. Yeah, I saw that. He uses 3 examples (compared with what, 6 in the other video?) The Longhorn screen shot showed no gadgets. As for time machine, such an ability was already available in previous Mac systems, but the Time Machine reworked it and made it easier. Copying a basic concept is one thing, but Microsoft made things that were virtual duplicates of the examples shown in OS X! He also conveniently ignores the fact that Apple has a lot shorter of an release cycle than Microsoft.
  8. Proof that Windows Vista did NOT copy off of Mac OS X!
  9. Then again, look what happened to the Ravens (who had an even higher-ranked defense).
  10. Maybe you didn't read my post correctly. "
  11. I was debating whether or not to get XP for my Macintosh since Vista was coming out so soon, but now I'm not sure if I want to do that. I'm now seriously considering just getting Windows XP and maybe upgrading to Vista later if necessary. Unfortunately, $200 is a bit steep for someone like me. So my only question is if anyone out there has any recommendations on where to buy Windows XP for the best prices. I'm looking for a good, reliable source that can also offer it fairly cheap. Keep in mind, I'm looking for only the Full Home Edition (no upgrades) and need Service Pack 2 for it to be able to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  12. Well this is all a real letdown. I was holding out on buying Windows XP for my Macintosh simply because Vista was coming out so soon. Seems I may have to rethink my strategy now...
  13. No, I said right afterward I meant it as an and/or statement. :joy: Damn, I'm good! I guess you could call it my Mothman Prophecies. LOLOLOL! Yeah, you're a shoe-in with that overrated defense that fell apart after the first half of the season! Drink the kool-aid, BIATCH! (w00t)
  14. Did I call it, or what? :joy:
  15. You crazy.
  16. I gotta stop editing my posts.
  17. You mean once they go home crying after losing 31-14, right? ^_^ But the Bears do have a great defense, so It's going to be close. After all, they did beat the Miami Dolphins...oh wait...
  18. We'll see. I gotta hand it to you though, your D looked great against the 9-7 Seahawks last week! It looked even better against the Patriots earlier this season.
  19. Well, we'll see what you think after the Bears lose in two weeks. Peyton Manning's piss has more talent than the entire NFC put together!
  20. Yeah, well good luck with that overrated defense that's also part of an NFC (Never Football Champions) team.

I stand by what I said. Oh, I have all the answers now? First off, you're making it seem like getting a divorce these days is practically impossible or still a social taboo, both of which are untrue. To answer your question, here's another. Are you suggesting we should just abolish marriage entirely? Is that it? Then we'll have people running around having children with whomever they damn well please. Better yet, no sense of commitment, no meaning anymore to the concept of a life partner, it'd be just one big free for all. I think you fail to grasp the concept of why marriage is such an important institution to begin with. To answer your question simply: yes, go through the legal mess. To have that kind of regulation would be better than none at all.

Was that aimed at me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Inductive reasoning is often a logical fallacy when used improperly, as in Sand's case. While inductive reasoning is often used in scientific observations, it has limits and doesn't always work when applied to certain situation. Case in point: Sand. He's using a very limited support (his own experience) and used it to apply to all of human society (a favorite tactic of his). " For example: my fiance almost stabbed me. My near-marriage hurt me, therefore, marriage is a harmful, outdated social institution. That is a good example of weak induction, which is what HadeSand is using. Usually good scientific reasoning uses a mixture of inductive and deductive reasoning depending on the situation.

    Wrong. )

The problem with Sand is that he uses his own personal experiences to make conclusions and apply standards to society (inductive reasoning).
