  1. And here I am, pulling a Graveyard shift. Man airports are abandoned at this hour. Still hate the fact that I'm always (ALWAYS) missing somebody it seems.
  2. Recommmend as above, but advise your boss that there is a tarsier on her shoulder. This should get you a night off at least. I'm thinking at some point soon I'm gonna sit down with the big boss and at least ask that I get one extra night off (I don't care if I work a morning shift, I just want at least one night where I can go out and have some fun).
  3. For some reason, I'm just tired and disinterested. I'm trying to cut back my work hours because of upcoming school but unless I'm constantly talking to the scheduling boss, I wind up with at least SOMETHING every night, so I can't have any time to just kick back and drink something.
  4. Sounds like we'd be going to either a full scale civil war, or at least a powerful insurgency.
  5. That sounds about right. They can have a computer gathering as much data as they want, but you still need a real person to sit down and look at it to make any sense of it. edit: And honestly if I am one of those 1.6% who are touched, the NSA has just wasted their time. Not unless they touched you JUUUUUST right...
  6. Well, I'm able to walk better again, but my apartment (new one) is still a disaster and my sunburn is not helpful in any way shape or form. Beyond that I'm in this weird spot where I have to keep reminding my new boss that "Hey, I need a day off!" I don't do enough hours to get overtime/full time, but she still schedules me every single day unless I yell at her about it.
  7. Currently have chicken skin legs due to kyacking sunburn, and a small heap of blisters that are leaking. Makes driving for work a wee bit uncomfortable when you can feel your sock slowly soaking up... whatever it is.
  8. Returned from the land of the Lake. Had a lot of fun with the family, with most of it coming from the stories of the stupid things they did as kids (like one aunt having her main memory from her youth being my dad kneeling on the drivers seat of his car, steering it, because he'd cut it in half to bury in a neighbors yard (without permission), and he's got to steer those two front wheels to their destination while being towed.
  9. Currently in south Lake Tahoe with the big family. Spent the entire day just talking about various things. And got a new phone
  10. Sitting on my porch with my neighbor waiting for the apartment crew (who had specifically said be out by 7 because we'll be there!) to finish checking me out
  11. Wheeee! stress! Moving. This is probably going to be my last post for a while because I'm moving tomorrow, Then I'm going to Tahoe for a family thing, then I'm unpacking And for the past four days mi madre has been in town
  12. One thing I've learned is that if this goes in place, every school kid is going to know somebody who can break the ISP and allow unfiltered access. Kinda reminds me of the US having a few cities with "No sex offenders within X miles of [location of children]" laws, which leads to undocumented sex offenders living where they choose because the only other option they have is to park themselves in the middle of nowhere without any ability to survive.
  13. Oh no that's not good, you know she is going to start judging your lifestyle and where you going with your life. But remember she is doing this as she is concerned and thinks her advice will help you so don't get upset Well, for the most part we bought cleaning supplies, cleaned (I'm moving apartments), and then had dinner and booze with my current semi-boss. I say semi because she's technically only da bawse until the 29th when they're handing over the reigns to somebody else, and she's VERY happy that's happening.
  14. Picked my mom up from the airport. She's here until tuesday next week. Also had a strange dream where my dad (a geologists) ended up using the exact phrase "Sedimentary my dear boy!"
  15. I don't know why you're worshipping somebody who's entirely overshadowed by a teen radio host.
  16. In America, the self defense is more "if you fear for our life". And the Stand Your Ground law is that if you're in a situation, you don't have the requirement of trying to back out as fast as you can. Basically, if the people can make a reasonable assumption that you feared for your life at the moment of the attack, and your response ended with the death of the other person, you're considered to have been in "self Defense" legally. Admittedly this is my understanding of it as a non-law studying american citizen.
  17. Well, in order to get the throne, William and Mary had to make a pretty big compromise to push a lot of the power back into parliament while the Stuarts fled to France.
  18. Technically Raithe, 300 years ago wasn't George's monarchy, it was William and Mary after James II got run out due to being Catholic. And I think a lot of the money you probably consider "seed" money for the royals is actually money generated after the Kings lost royal authority (as that's part of the reason for the English Civil War in 1600's).
  19. Pining after an old school Pathfinder, land cruiser, 4runner or Chevy Blazer again.
  20. Yeah.. sure..
  21. The comments section on that is HILARIOUS!
  22. My first link has the numbers for each monday/friday for the networks. ANd if you look, most days he's losing.
  23. "Sigh" Volo its not hard to spend a little time researching the facts when you make comments. I know you know how to use Google Piers Morgan wasn't kicked out the UK, he willingly took the job at CNN to replace Larry King and moved to the USA to live there permanently. His "strong ratings" apply to his current show on CNN and not what he did in the UK as obviously he doesn't work in the UK anymore. I sure you understand how ratings work. If a news presenter has an unpopular talk show he will be dropped. The fact that he still has a active and daily talk show tells us people still support him and CNN continues to allow him to represent them. He's on the edge. His ratings seem to be in significant decline, with him being the lowest rated show in the timeslot in Feb of this year (being beaten by Dr. Drew) and looking at more recent data, he's swaying drunkenly between the 2nd to last and 2nd in his timeslot (with Hannity having a strong first) Can you provide some links to show his bad ratings? If that's the case then CNN needs to remove him. I have no issues with that but lets have this discussion around the facts of his popularity and leave out the emotion and personal perspective. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/tag/piers-morgan-tonight-ratings/ http://www.deadline.com/2013/03/tv-ratings-piers-morgan-tonight-sinks-to-2013-low-only-87k-viewers-in-key-demo/
