  1. Ok in our boards control panel (you know where you can make pm's and such) there is a button marked "Paid Subscriptions" From what I can see it looks like it's so that we can pay to listen to the radio or somthin. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on this.
  2. Alberta!?
  3. A thought if your going to have a minigame, have it make sense... Like for a persuasion minigame have the character play madlibs or something similar. for an army vs army minigame, have the fight have a BIT More depth than "rock paper scissors" and for craps sake, don't make it simonsays or a twitchfest (especially if it's an rpg)(and not only because I suck at simon says)
  4. From what I understand, the guys over at bethesda seem to be taking out that little bit of charm from the fallout franchise (you know... the one that gives you the ability to shoot sombodies groin, or watching a body esplode from a critical with a dagger) if what everything reported is true and to the degree we all fear... it's going to be oblivion with guns, but if it's not nearly as bad as you fear, it'll still be a very different game.
  5. MGS4 looks like it's already coming for the Xbox Final fantasy I'm not sure about. but alot of the PS2 exclusives seem to have jumped ship
  6. true. But the cops need their donuts.
  7. From all reports, this is an EXTREMLY fun game... albeit short.
  8. meh... personally I don't think that the 10th amendment is very much in effect (as the feds have made more laws, and injunctions against things than the constitution would seem to provide) but sense the only people who put up competent opposition (not to me... I honestly SUCK at debating) have left and all we're left with is a sideshow, I'd say yes.
  9. Lair looks nice. Too Human too...
  10. I tried Def Jam Icon, thinking it'd be somthing similar to the previous two iterations of the series (out and out brawlers) instead I find that it's heavily stylized and the fighting is klunky with the game just kinda tossing you into the game headfirst without much training. The customization is nice, but I think that rather than call it Def Jam (which, while still being connected to the product, it's also the title of brawlers rather than stylized fighting) they should have just called it Icon.
  11. ... PS2.
  12. I've played it to the point where I'm doing missions to save my brother in the pen but I can't shake the feeling that most of the details about the game are Grove Street related (tatts, graffiki...) I'd also like it better if there was something other than talk shows to listen to if your not into rap. I'm not saying it's a bad game or anything, its just that it seems to be directly oriented at grabbing kids who want to be ghetto and keeping them there for a long long time. (admittedly the talk show channel is funny as hell)
  13. I am curious about that reasoning... Which country would you suggest is next in the line of those who needs intervention? North Korea (throwing around nuclear threats) ? Israel (constant human rights violations and two scores UN sanctions not adhered to) ? Iran (where even the president is a sick sexual pervert, shaking the hands of women) ? Columbia (so they can finally spray agent orange on anything with the colour green) ? Fiji (ruled by a general and the military) ? Syria (alledgedly hiding all the evidence that the coalition forces couldn't find in Iraq) ? Canada (Killer of baby seals and threatening danish sovereignty over Hans Island) ? China (list too long to even start on here) ? Pakistan (is already in possession of nuclear weapons) ? Etc. I think the US and UK needs to seriously reconsider the draft if you want to carry this kind if doctrine out Didn't you know? Team america is the world police agency... we only get off our fat lazy asses to help those who are either A)rich or B) well publicized... >.> <.< I kid.
  14. The third felt like they tried to cram too much into one package. I also didn't like the combo system. (and the distinct lack of guidance about things like "you can hang down from an over hang by a web by pressing the L3 button!")
  15. Goood game... the "story" is short though.
  16. eh... not so much don't care about, as can't connect with... I mean I'm a guy who's whiter than sour creme, I stay on my computer all the time, I've never even been NEAR a "ghetto", I don't listen to rap, and don't call my friends "bro" or "brotha" or anything of that sort. Essentially I can't say I've ever been anywhere near a situation where I'd be forced to fight for my ethnic group's street gang in order to keep all sorts of people off my back. The thing about being the button man is that the role was so undefined that it really could be anyone, CJ and his group was designed to cash in on the fact that every white kid who's between the ages of 14 and 20 at the time was idolizing what they thought was black culture. And what better way to cash in than to make the little white kid who idolizes black "gangstas" than by having them play one?
  17. I was turned off by SA's ethnic storyline. (personally I don't like playing a boy in da hood, I prefer a button man)
  18. MoHAA and it's expansions were imho worse than CoD1 mainly because at a certain point the missions got rediculous in terms of what you had to do. Pacific aussalt learned something from COD and made it semi squad based and had a medic in your team (making it believable to a degree.) admittedly running around with a Anti Tank gun is a little... interesting.
  19. To quote that great American, Antonin Scalia "I cannot define it but I know it when I see it". ... Really? Because some might say that Bush was riding a wave of popularity (similar to having incredible charisma) and sent us to war on what some would consider bad grounds. Now I'm sure you don't consider them bad grounds but I would consider lying to get a license to invade bad grounds.
  20. my area is WELL below the average for rainfall this time of year (about 10") kinda sucks because it's friggin hot in Cali (and my AC died at work for two days... next to grills... that sucked)
  21. not as a buy but as a "hey, this might be interesting" as they are changing the system: Smackdown vs Raw 08. From the looks of it they'll be pulling the Benoit character because of the recent... homicide.
  22. Except that there are easy ways around that, for example with holding federal funding from a state until it has healthcare for all. Admittedly it's a work around that causes states to handle most of the red tape but the federal government could do the carrot and the stick method by saying "you can't have funding unless you give out healthcare to your citizens, however if you do give out health care to your citizens we'll give you the money to pay for it."
  23. I don't suppose anyone has seen the robot chicken episode where the transformers geek calls them on all of their "flubbs" in the first episode (where optimus gets cancer?)
  24. my guess is that the last of your cons would happen quite quickly unless the government was able to do most of the paying for doctors. However one of the things I think we'd also see if the government were to take over would be that some doctors would get paid less. this might lead to a few doctors doing less... moral things. While this is fictitious the example that I'm going to use is probably happening somewhere in America: There is a Law and Order episode that stems from the death of the chairwoman of a hospitals board. The reason being that the shooters sister (shooter was 17) had AIDS. The shooter believed that the doctor treating her killed her. As they follow the sisters life and treatment over the last years, they find that the girl was being used (without anyone's permission) as a guinea pig by her doctor for AIDS treatments. As they went through all of the doctors patients they learned several things, That each of his patients was on a drug ****tail that contained one more drug than was legal/ethical. and that each ****tail was incredibly different. It turns out the doctor had AIDS himself (which led to him becoming the AIDS man at the clinic) and he was using the children that he treated to try and find a cure for himself. And while it seemed fairly obvious the girl could have lived much longer with a less... extreme treatment the doctor was almost unfettered in the ability to give her what ever he wanted because he's the doctor and neither the girl or the person taking care of her are not. (thus the girl was taken away from a caretaker because the girl was going through HORRIBLE bouts of sickness when the drugs were in her system, but when they left she felt much better.) I suppose my ultimate thought on the privatization of our medical system is that what rules are there to bar something like the previous (fictitious) example from happening? I mean, unless your a doctor getting treatment from another doctor in your field of medicine you probably won't be able to figure out if the treatment your doctor is giving you is actually good for you or if he's making a shot in the dark because your terminal illness is similar to what he has and he's trying to find the cure. ... I know I'm not the most coherent person (thank you ADD for giving me an extremely tangential brain), but I hope I got my point across. I was unaware that the constitution or any of it's amendments make ANY mention of health care other than the fact that humanity has a natural right to live, which the HMOs seem to be trying to deny unless it's completely unavoidable.
  25. found what I was referring to earlier, Signing statements.
