  1. You're not the only one, in either case.
  2. Yes but the gaming press it's a whore, so who cares? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yet you'll turn to the RPG Kotex for unbiased journalism?
  3. Weapon size and strength determine your attack rate.
  4. Can't say. If you would like, you can send me a PM with a description outlining what you were doing when you crashed. If you were transitioning between two areas, if you could tell me what you were doing just prior to transitioning and the to/from areas, I can look into it.
  5. As much as I would like to take credit for Oblivion, I really had little to do with it. I joined Bethesda in January, and did aid in the QA effort, but in reality the other QA guys, all of them, do a great job finding, tracking and documenting bugs. The artists, designers, producers, programmers, and QA guys on the project put a lot of work into the game, and I, personally, think it shows. I have the utmost respect for everyone in the company.
  6. Can you do me a favor? Go to My Documents\My Games\Oblivion and send me a PM with any and all items found here? Additionally, are there any .dmp files in your main Oblivion installation folder?<C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion> If there are tell me. I was going to PM you with this query, but this goes to anyone who experiences a crash or hardlock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've crashed a few times. Mostly in a certain DB mission And when I ALT-TAB out and stay out for a little. or click on something, if I come back, the game's always locked up. So if I get a pop-up...have to restart. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll look into the crash in this mission. Alt+tab crashes aren't unheard of in any game. Its pretty much caused by memory thrashing, I believe.

  8. I hate ninjas. I am a pirate. I'm so pirate I use the captain's cutlass. P.S. I don't know where you can buy healing spells, never tried.
  9. Looks to me like mkreku 'sploited some glass armor on 'im! Either that, or he powerleveled! Go mkreku! GOOOOOOO!
  10. Read my post again, I've explained what causes it. When you load into an area you're "dropped in." The same applies to items. Sometimes things bounce. Is it a bug? Sure, is it important? No. Is it likely to be fixed? No.
  11. It does mean "jack." It was to keep the economy relatively balanced. There are items worth thousands of gold, but if the player was given even half the value of an item worth 10k gold, the economy breaks down, especially with the amount of magic items you get at the end of the game. One glass armor cuirass with magical effects could be sold for a small fortune, and get you tons of potions/scrolls/etc... plus you could get a mundane item, enchant it and then sell it. Likely, when you load into an area you "bump" them when positioned, this causes it if you load near a table or such.
  12. 1) Known issue. (insta-armor guards) 2) Yes it is normal for objects appear to be floating. When an area is loaded items are "dropped" onto their location. Are you saying they aren't ever landing? Screenshots? 3) Not a bug. She has 50 gold to offer per purchase. If you go to a merchant with 1200 gold, they have 1200 gold per purchase. This is a result of people complaining about merchants not having enough gold in Morrowind. The solution was an "I'll pay this much for any one trade."
  13. Increasing your level really only makes the game harder. From what I can gather you're ~10, which means NPCs will get swallowed up by spawns for you. Something fun that I like to do: go around and gather followers. Some quests give you followers asking you to "take me to X." If you never take them to X, you can get a lot of followers " Don't tell anyone I told you that...
  14. Thanks Shadow and Lyr. Kind of sad that my first instinct is to go to shops half way across the continent rather than look around the immediate area. One more thing that's probably obvious. I can't find anybody who sells lock picks, there a certain person, or do you just find them? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To be honest, I've never had to buy any, so I actually don't know. I know goblins drop them quite often, and if you're a member of the thieves guild the doran should have some.
  15. You can leave, and mithril armor is not a good "stand and fight" armor. It is light armor. I would say your armor and shield are killing you. For example, a mithral cuirass resists 8 points of damage per hit. An orcish cuirass (which should be readily available at your level) protects you from 13.75. Leather shield? 7.5 protection (on a block). Get a heavy shield, ANY heavy shield. Orcish will stop 16.5.
  16. Heal minor wounds is the spell you get in the beginning, and it is a terrible spell. It only heals 8 health per casting. You need a better spell. Is your armor damaged/destroyed? Get it repaired. You need good armor in good shape if you're a melee d00d.
  17. There is no real "good and evil" in the game. The exception being if you do enough evil things the gods will not bless you at altars. You can be a good vampire, so long as you don't mind feeding on innocents.
  18. It depends on your strategy. If you use magic a lot, the game becomes much easier. I'm a dirty fighter, I hit people with my bow of silencing from sneak, then turn invis and repeat. I almost never engage in melee.
  19. Here ya go: Just did it, took me around 5 minutes. 2 wrong, the first is wrong because I put 54 with jokers. A mistake on my part. 31/33. Did it for spite.
  20. This part made sense, and was logical, but sadly, this is the only step in your timelime that does. Actually, I said I got 26 of the 33 in 3 minutes, and I said nothing in regards to whether or not I googled them. What I did say, as you have quoted, was that the test could be completed in 10 minute with google or wikipedia. Your assumption that I googled them, your assertion that it took me 10 minutes, when I stated it took 3. Then you presume that I would want to dedicate more time to it, when I stated a few posts back that the test was boring. Using your logic: I've invested 3 minutes in minesweeper, know I could solve it in a few more, but have no interest in doing so. With all three of these being true, I "[...]would have spent the two-and-a-half minutes and completed[...]" the minesweeper game. I already proved this wrong; This is where your line of reasoning fails, yet again. Where did I say it was "beneath me?" I said it wasn't fun, so I stopped. You know, kind of like why you would quit playing a game if it wasn't fun. Since you're entire argument is flawed, your conclusion is irrelevent. It's just your interpretation of events, filled with you reading things into my posts which aren't there. I didn't complete the test because it wasn't fun. Meaning I had things I would rather be doing. Hell, arguing with you has proven to be more enjoyable, thus why I am doing so. Hint: People don't play games that they think are too easy. If this test were 33 math questions, I would've completed it because it would be a good challenge for me, assuming it wasn't 2+2 = []. I've never been good at math, and enjoy the challenge of it. Then again, if the questions were 2+2 odds are I would've quit doing that eventually, as well. As for your interpretation of the "the only logical answer." Your passive aggressive insults won't really make me react any differently. It's reminiscent of grade school.
  21. Oh noez. Da mean manz on the internetz saiz mean tings.
  22. How did I "pass myself off as something special, at the expense of others?" I said the test proves nothing, to begin with. Like I said, Logic is certainly not proving to be a strong point of yours.
  23. Every conversation with you, yields the same result. If I could put moderators on ignore, you'd be on it.
