A farewell Thread
Vaccine shots are a must. Under no circumstances permit anyone to administer them in an unorthodox fashion. Particularly the tropical fevers. Unless you relish the thought of re-enacting that bit from the Exorcist. Which on reflection can be quite fun.

Whats illegal to post on an american website?
I think slander and libel are pretty esoteric in the States. I can't remember how, though.

Al Gore get the Nobel Peace prize
Actually I have no problem with it being the Peace prize. If the environment becomes harsher you are going to see incrased competition for resources, and perhaps conflict over the right to use industrial power. This, to lift the essence of FALLOUT means war. Sustainable development is possibly the only way it can be avoided.

In case you haven't, try and see if you can find the original chaos rule books in one of those old second hand book stores. "Slaves to Darkness" deals with the aspects of Khorne and Slaanesh, whereas "The Lost and the Damned" deals with the other two opposites Nurgle and Tzeentch. Both are hefty 100+ page hard cover books with plenty of background fluff, from the nature of the warp (which is not unlike the planescape universe where belief can dictate matter) to the creation of the human emperor and why he was created. The Necron rulebook also provides a lot of good background material as to why and how the chaos gods were created in the struggle between the C'than/Necrontyr and "The Old Ones" Edit: Sloppy spelling I owned both books (and still may if they are being faithfully stored). they were quite terrifying, but also very intriguing. I must confess that I consider them pretty much genius, since they tie together so much stuff from all over, by either research or presience. Indeed, they presage many of the more interesting bits of system theory concerning order and chaos by several years.

A farewell Thread
Huh? You what? I breathe in air I breathe out paranoia, mate. In any case I really haven't time to write down the dozens of incidents I've been embroigled in by either my own stupidity or that of others. The fact is the World is actually very dangerous, and still more dangerous for Westerners raised in happy homes who bimble about expecting it to be safe and friendly. It's chock full of opportunist thieves, murderous monks, violent chimps, innocuous gangsters, drugs, thunderstorms, flash floods, horrible worms that eat your eyes, termites that eat your travellers cheques, dust, poorly maintained safety features, HIV infected doctor's equipment, malarial mosquitos, bilharzia that makes you fart, lazy policemen that will expect bribes, angry policemen who will arrest you for making bribes, lying guides, truthful terrorists, and a total absence of life-jackets or decent gin.

Al Gore get the Nobel Peace prize
I did think it was rather suspect. A judge in the Uk recently ruled that there were eight mistakes in his film, and that it should only be shown with them listed. The judge did, however also say that the thrust of the film was unaffected by the judgement. I dunno. I just think maybe we could have better people speaking. But then smiley Nelson Mandela praised the IRA, so you can't have it all.

How was the next next day?
Speaking of which, a new low for my mood: "A bomber hid explosives in a trolley full of toys that he was pushing in a playground in the northern Iraqi town of Tuz, where families were celebrating the Islamic festival of Eid. Two people were killed and several injured." (BBC)

All teh same I'm thinking you could get a high rate of return on some investment in an MMO, and you'd be pretty much guaranteed to evade tax. The key would be declaring it as the right thing to minimise rather than evade tax.

That is pretty cool.

No worries. Arm for bear and you get sharks, in my exp tho'. WRT travel I'm no expert on India, and in any case local conditions are always changing. The best advice is to stay alert and watch everything. This is good not just because it protects you but because it means you're noticing more and getting a better experience. Beyond that you should certainly steer clear of the fringe regions like kashmir and provinces abutting Bangladesh. These regions are suffering insurgencies/banditry. EDIT: MOST IMPORTANTLY _ACT_ on your bad vibes. You'd be amazed how many people say they saw troube coming but were embarassed to do anything about it. I'm sure there are foriegners worldiwde going about tehir normal harmless business who were amazed to see an Englishman suddenly dive into a hedge and run off into the distance. But there are also several disappointed hoodlums who have seen the same. By the same token don't automatically assume locals know best. If you think the kind invitation to go up into the hills on a trek is crazy, then turn it down. Be polite, but firm. Offer to take your hosts out for a day in town instead.

That's just sad. Think of the poor women killed so this bastard can get his pitiful jollies. I'm boycotting his stuff.

1. Take your anti-malarials. 2. Get good health insurance. MEMORISE the details. 3. Keep a photocpy of your passport and travellers cheques separate from the originals. 4. Carry several pairs of pliers, a big needle, black silk, gaffer tape. Virtually any situation can be resolved with same. 5. Mosquito nets are good for keeping out snakes, 'roaches, and rats, not just mozzies. 6. Don't settle for insect repellent less than 90% deet.

theoretically yes, however its technically against the term of service to sell gold for currency so if this becomes a wide spread problem blizzard might decide to flood the market as it were and make gold worthless. That is assuming the launderers weren't so stupid as to NOT threaten Blizzard with violence a la carte if they did so. Keep in mind it also undermines themselves, since it's their economy. If they devalue the gold then no dice. Maybe they should peg gold to a gold standard.

BREAKING NEWS: TIM CAIN SIGHTINGS REPORTED
What do you mean colour you unimpressed? You ARE the colour unimpressed. I have a pot of paint here called 'Shades of Sand' and guess what? It's the colour of a dying man watching a plank of wood. If we wanted to up your game we'd have to leaf you with sheets of 24 carat ennui and attach a boredom bell to your pointy louche head. Except the bell wouldn't ring because you'd be so lacking in motivation you wouldn't impart so much as a tremor! Cheered me up, anyway.

I don't know about this business with the Undivided. What I do know is that Slaanesh and Khorne don't get on on an absolutely fundamental better than atomic level. Likewise Nurge and Tzeentch. Chaos undivided might be some approach focussing on the pure anti-order/life components, but... I dunno. I have to say I always wondred who invented the canon on thsi subject. It's quite terrifying.

Hold on a minute. Unless I'm mistaken you could use WoW to circumvent national controls on currency export. i.e. earn in Cuba online, move abroad and cash in your 'gold' for dollars. Is this true?

I've got a scar on my head from being bitten by a dog, and have been attacked by them on two other occasions. It got so bad in the Far East that I took to jogging with two bricks in my rucksack as an impromptu morning star. Domesticated dogs should be stared down. If that fails, or the dog is wild, throw stones. If that fails I can only recommend you crouch down and cover your neck and vital organs as best you can, then fight like hell. If you think dogs are bad, though you should try monkeys.

Rugby World Cup
Clarification: The game is not about kicking. Kicking is merely the cream on the trifle or the butter on the crumpet. Simply because you can get full eating butter does not mean that you should. I am annoyed about us being good at kicking because it is covering up the fact that we can't play as a team. Or that we have any real enthusiasm. I've much preferred Argentina this cup. At least they care.

Considering how popular chaos is I was thinking they should've divided the four Ruinous Powers. Call me old fashioned but I get annoyed seeing khorne berserkers deployed by the Emperor's Children. Or sorcerors deployed by the World Eaters.

Civ 4 BTS Succession Game
After patiently thumping me on the head, Pidesco has explained. Unfortunately I am going to be busy this evening, so I pass my go on. Will jump in tomorrow. BTW, how are we on starting wars?

I don't think we should worry about Hammurabi. Let's place the city optimally, and then skrag him toot sweet.

Civ 4 BTS Succession Game
BIGGER EDIT: I'm an idiot. I totally misunderstood. I leave the bit below as ilustration of my total incompetence. Right. Yer on! EDIT (20 turns later) I chose to play as Winston Churchill, obviously. This is because I regard him as the best leader for walloping the other powers in a nearly ceaseless round of warfare. The opener is as below. I hope you can make out the terrain. I picked up a map in the first turn. You should be able to see a perfect place for a money farm bottom right highlighted in red. Three gold mines and flat farming land. Time fair span past, illuminating the fact that the Spanish are off to the East. Normally, on marathon setting I'd launch a sneak attack, but on this setting they've more than likely got defences up. I'm going to have to just try and get my settler into position before Isabella can move Westward. Once in position I should be safe. It's hard to take anything until you get catapults. As for tech, I tried to get a leg up by heading toward a religion, and having failed to get Hinduism I'm pushing for Judaism. Actually that's hard to see. If you want to see the full thing that badly just PM me.
