It's not as if it's the only example of communism leading to mass murder, by virtue of cultural purification, class purges, an economic mismanagement to the point of insanity. China's cultural revolution, Cambodia's killing fields, not to mention the grassroots efforts of a hundred insurgencies over the last century. All for no ****ing reason besides fuelling the fantasies of the romantic, and the ambitions of sick minds. Communism - even your evasive and mendacious definition of communism* - all rest on the extreme rendition of personal economic freedom to a state apparatus. Deprived of that freedom the individual is placed on an slope towards state despotism in an environment of Inquisition, and revolutionary violence. Mass murder under such condition is not accidental or even personal, it is utterly inevitable. Combine that with your repeated assertions that you care nothing for anyone who does not support your view, and your attitude begins to look more sinisterly ambitious than compassionate. *Where people's committees wisely and impartially dispense justice and freedom while simultaneously controlling economic, social, and moral behaviour.

Now that was just evil! It bloody works, though! The ale has selenium, and energy, and is a fluid. The curry has capsaicin, which releases natural endorphins, turmeric and ginger which reduce inflammation, and the garlic makes you feel like a crazed barbary pirate. Which is good for morale.

Um... we have a major national newspaper The Sun (Murdoch owned) which has had boobies on page 3 for decades. You see copies all over the place as with most newspapers. We also have magazines like Nuts and Bizarre which have all kinds of weirdness in them. Yet in all my years travelling on public transport I've only noticed one man reading them in a careless fashion which might inadvertantly expose others. And that was on a massively overcrowded train, hence arguably not his fault. -
I don't agree with Di on the bland foods. Eat teh hottest curry you can lay your hands on, drink some ale, and eat raw garlic.

You still haven't offered up any evidence of this other than simply instructing him to "go see for himself." That's not how you win an argument. You may not have noticed Oblarg, but the people's commissar over there categorically denies there was a deliberate famine in the Ukraine, or that the KGB systematically and brutally murdered millions to keep the revolution pure. Both points are widely accepted to the point where references are unnecessary. Pick up almost any history book ad they will say that. That doesn't necessarily make it correct, but it does mean the burden of proof is on HIM, not us. More to the point, it's irrelevant what the history is, because ultimately any amount of history won't change his deep desire to see bloody revolution enacted (with himself leading a choice squad of executioners).

Surely a hard working porn star wouldn't want bread in their mouth. -
Oy vey. I hope you don't but that sounds like it could be serious.

You have the cleanest country because there's nothing else to do in Sweden besides clean. EDIT: and eat revolting licorice.

Getting counselling doesn't mean you're weak, it's means you're injured up top. NOT getting counselling because you're afraid of counselling is weakness.

Believing you are too young for something shows wisdom indeed. So which game would you leave your kids with, Orogun?

If by "violent revolution" you mean "mass struggle of whatever character" and by "failed economic and sociological system" you mean "economic and sociological system which succeeded wildly and fundamentally, and its successes are demonstrated even moreso by the economic conditions in the former USSR," then yes. Wild and fundamental success looks like this: I'm pleased you think your so-called sense of humour is appropriate in the context of so many deaths even estimates became impossible. Rather than the entire forum lacking a sense of humour I suggest an alternative hypothesis, which is that you are a colossal pseudo-intellectual wanker, and you should piss off back to which ever hole you were in before you came here. You and your priapic death fantasies.

Hang on. What about girlfriends? I remember they accounted for something like 60% of my budget until I turned 25. Surely Calax can be expected to bag someone.

To be fair my military service consisted mainly of me getting badly injured during training and learning a lot about radios. Today I managed to scare up a bunch of new work leads, and went on a massive cab ride which I negotiated as being cheaper and easier than travelling by public transport. In the course of which my cab driver confessed he was an amateur boxer and freemason, and he invited me to join the lodge as a respectable seeming chap. I declined, but we had a greatly animated discussion on the nature of small group psychology, secrets, oath-taking, and bowler hats.

You make an interesting point. Up to a point We've been talking this through, so my point has developed and I may now be contradicting earlier statements. 1. In conventional military terms there is no way that any small-arms armed citizens are going to be able to engage with US regular armies the way they did back in the war of independence. 2. However, a mass rising is always a threat to even heavily armed regimes, and still more so when the citizens have guns. The fact that it would have to be a properly mass rising doesn't worry me, it reassures me. 3. I can't remember my point 3. EDIT: I've remembered. @Wrath of Dagon. If you read Stratfor, the BBC, or Jane's Intelligence Review rather than just following Fox News you'd know that much of the Mexican violence comes about using guns purchased in the United States. Moreover I fail to see how every bastard owning a gun has made Afghanistan any safer.

I'd agree with Hurlshot. Sugar and salt aren't EVIL.

Who says I don't already do? Actually I always assumed you used your groin.

You've realised of course that you will necessarily only see them using it in public. -
Even mine? I only just switched!

I think it sounds like his Dad wants Cal to budget everything. Because as we know from Wall Street, so long as it's got numbers in it it must be true. Frankly, my advice would be to do his bloody budget and stuff it with as much meaningless numeric gibberish as possible. Include at least some partial differential equations charting - I don't know - rates of rent increase.

The problem, after thinking about it, seems to me to be the way in which the digital age transfers so much of our lives into the hands of a very limited array of commercial entities. In this way a normal rule of commercial life - that a shopowner can do what they like in their own bloody shop - attains a significance unlike that attached to an ordinary comic book store or what have you. I would suggest therefore that by placing Apple in such a position of dominance we are the ones who have caused the problem, not Apple. -

When I worked in the post sorting office you could rely on some pages turning up in virtually every mailbox. Very strange. -
Hold on. Cans have it coming. The filthy weasels. EDIT: I am against shooting weasels.

I can't be the only person here old enough to remember when porn was mainly found in the wild. Specifically, in hedges. For reasons I was never privy to.
