I've hit theforce.net 5 times a week for years now. My girlfriend is all over our local fan-force forums too. P.S. If you really want to advertise, then make your banners clickable links.

Hey, it worked for the Matrix. Careful examination of the Matrix will show that the budget and effects weren't all that incredible. Often, the set was cast in shadows and your imagination filled in the rest. The two sequels were more brightly lit and featured more finished effect shots, but people didn't care for them as much. Yeah, darkness!

Hrmm! Yodafied your last banner was. Not as good, I suspect the Luke banner is.

Questions the the Devs - Take 2

Akari said in another thread that we won't see this in KOTOR:2. The engine is based somewhat loosely on the D20 rules-set. So combat parses one attack round, and one attack roll at a time. Attack rolls are made against a single target. You'd have to seriously revamp the whole rules-set, and thusly the engine to engage multiple targets at once. -
That's pretty much what I assumed we'd get with this crew.

The problem with that idea is scripting. There may be an event when you pass through an area, and by teleporting around, you screw up the game's scripts.

I didn't play the game DS, though my girlfriend did. The options didn't appeal to me. I just started up a new game playing dark, and I'm not digging it thus far. I think having Heal is a huge advantage, and yet I've heard people complain that the Dark Side was far too powerful because of their attack powers. To each their own.
-
They want a certain game balance. The Dark Side should be more violent, and have more powerful combat powers. Check. The Light Side should have a seperate advantage, in this case they have healing. Check. The Dark Side should be seductive (it's easier to extort money than give up money in KOTOR for instance). Check. The Dark Side shoudl have an appropriate disadvantage. In KOTOR's case, you lose Jedi near the end of the game. Check. If I changed anything, I'd have certain NPCs either attack you, or leave your party sooner in KOTOR if you were dark. I see a Dark Side party consisting of Bastilla turned, Canderous, HK-47 and Mission. Everyone else should be dead, or vacated.

The insta-transport does cut down on walking time. I don't mind that. I mind that it instantly heals you. I played a Guardian with plenty of "loot" and gear. I found Malak quite easy. I just started replaying the game and beat Bendak Starkiller with a level two character very early in the game. When you know what feats to focus on, combat becomes a joke.

Dark side mechanical replacements

Thanks. I can't take all the credit. Monte_Carlo told me to pick a Rumsfeld avatar. I just chose a picture that had him looking particularly frightful. -
I think for a long time now, many game developers have been shooting for a more "cinematic" and immersive experience in gaming. However, in Hollywood we see unexpected small-budget films rake in the dough from time to time. I see fewer surprises in the gaming industry. Computer games are almost becoming more formulaic than Hollywood.

I think LA may needed to bring younger players on the floor to play D as well. The Glove sure didn't fit Billups.

Now baseball is a sport where you can play in the majors and be fat. That's why I don't have a whole lot of respect for baseball players.

Maybe McGrady will be part of the trade package for Shaq. McGrady and Kobe will put together highlight reels. But I think a good point-guard and Shaq will beat most teams they line up against. If LA had passed to Shaq more often, LA might be the champs right now.

Fat bastard American Football players? I can only assume you are talking about lineman. I dare you to line up in the trenches one day. Lineman need to be quick and athletic. They get power by driving with their legs, but hand movements are crucial in maintaining or beating a block. The 300 lb lineman can move a heck of a lot quicker than you might imagine, and have to read blitzes in the blink of an eye. I've played soccer and I've played football. Soccer required more stamina, but it didn't require more athleticism or dexterity per se than football.

Thanks. I also liked in Kruk's weekly article how he mentioned despite hating the Lakers, he felt sorry for Shaq. While living out in OC, I read every day about the feud. I hadn't really noticed this year how Shaq had kept quiet, but he really has. Shaq took the higher road, and played to win. I don't care for the Lakers either, but it seems to me like he was the only guy on the floor who really wanted to win. I can't believe how much Kobe was laughing after the Laker's losses. It's like the personal vendetta meant more to him than the championship.

Atari should do a sequel to ToEE first. Now there was a great game!

First off, I don't care for sequels where this uber-powerful character is suddenly level one again. It doesn't make sense. Just give me a new character and let's start a new story. Revan had a tough time. How does Revan define himself/herself now? There are a lot of questions and issues to deal with. I think leaving the limelight for a while is very interesting. And while should Obsidian worry about telling Bioware's story. Let them tell their own.

I was referring to your Vong mention. I wish I could uninvent them.

Sounds like a good compromise.

I never really played the Star Trek games. I wasn't a big Trek fan though I did watch all seven seasons of Next Gen. I played Armada a couple of times in LAN games, but that was nothing really unique. What I really wanted to play was the Starship Designer/Creator game and now I can't find it.

I agree. The Force can help. I can see that. I just don't care for KOTOR's insta-cure power. If you want to make the game more difficult, take away the insta-transport back to the Ebon Hawk, and take away Force healing.

Ender wiggles his fingers and uses Affect Mind. "The NJO does not exist. These are not the novels you are looking for."
