Where is the option for "I shoulda used the Search function and saw that several threads already exist on this topic?" When you created this poll, the third topic down on the first page is one of many topics on the subject.

I understand the Star Forge generating ships, but did it magically generate 20 million dark Jedi? I never understood that. What portion of the Star Forge was challenging or unique? It was just a marathon of randomly generated bad guys to slice through. And BTW, welcome to the forums, Cubeoid!

Welcome to the forums. I recommend using the Search tool, and posting Bug Reports in the Bug Reports area. Other than that, I hope you find the info you are looking for.

Sikhism can be considered an off-shoot. That's why I count 5 biggies. Raelians are the biggest joke I've personally seen, and they are recognized as an official religion. You go on to say that governements never recognize a religion so much as they recognize it on the census, and that's it. Each individual church needs to fill out non-profit forms, and the terms for being recognized as a non-profit organization for religious purposes are determined by each state, but largely have more to do with where your money goes than anything else. If the primary means of a government recognizing a religion are acknowledging it on the census, then yes, these governments did recognize it as a religion, but don't really want to admit to it. Let's say that I buy some paint, and paint my fence white. Later I admit that I painted my fence, but then say I didn't really paint my fence, because paint implies pigment and color, and white really doesn't have any pigment, so I didn't actually paint it. Yeah, so we did create a section on our census to recognize Jedi, who actually have more members than Judiaism, but we're not really recognizing them. Yeah, that's the ticket! Edit: And where do people get the idea that the rest of us register officially for a religion somewhere? Do Christians have to get a ballot together to be recognized? Do people sign up somewhere to get on an official Hindu mailing list? The purpose of asking religion on a census is to calculate the percentage of a population that partakes in said religion. When Jedi is the fourth most popular religion, it's hard to discount. If it only got 10,000 members total, then it is easy to dismiss. But in just a few commonwealth countries, it neared a half million. Again, it's the fourth biggest religion in the UK. If Jedi don't count, then apparently Jews don't count either.

Would Mace Windu Have beaten Sidious?
EnderAndrew replied to jodo kast 5's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Again, George Lucas said personally in interviews, and in the movies that Yoda was the most powerful Jedi. Palpatine beat down Yoda. Thusly, Palpatine is the most powerful Force User in all 6 movies. You'll note that Mace Windu takes some powerful Jedi with him to arrest Palpatine, and he kills them quickly. The only one he doesn't kill quickly is Mace Windu, because he uses Mace as a tool to push Anakin over the edge. The entire prequel trilogy revolves around his patience, and ability to manipulate the entire galaxy. Yet you think he's weak and old? What movies were you watching? -
Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions

I'm not trying to discourage suggestions in general. However, suggesting the major story-arch of the game is a bit silly. -
Someone could ask Sawyer.

Actually, there is a Jedi Academy in California where "sermons" of the Force are given, people meditate on the Force, and lightsaber techniques are taught. People do really practice the religion. Edit: Here's another Jedi Academy in Romania. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/08/31/ro...n_jedi_academy/ Also, 390,000 registered as Jedi in England, 70,000 in Australia, 58,000 in New Zealand, etc.

Pazaak - love it or hate it?
EnderAndrew replied to Darth_Windu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The droid is not easy. He is lying about being a poor player. He's the toughest player you can face in the bar at the moment, and Akari assured us that he went over the code, and the computer does not cheat. Certain players just have better side-decks, or get lucky. -

Tzar Ender Wiggin the Great offers his sincere condolensces on the loss of one of the world's truly great leaders. Wiggin the Great recognizes Emperor Josef's strong leadership, willingness to lead and dashing fashion sense. Truly, the world lost an icon we will not soon forget. In proper Russian fashion, Wiggin the Great is sending out a crate of his finest vodka to Vienna, where the Emperor's surviving relatives can drink away their sorrows. -

I do too. Geeks can be tough apparently. -
The game is listed as a Winter '05 release. December then?

It's not merely invulnerability. The Nameless One was truly immortal, and thusly invulnerable to an extent, and yet he was a very interesting character. Superman isn't human, and is nearly perfect. He wants nothing, needs nothing, and is selfless for no apparent reason. How can any one empathize with a total and complete stranger who never feels lonely, never feels greedy, and has no vice to speak of? You'd be hard pressed to invent a more boring character if you tried.

Ben Heck is the official geek-poohbah in my book. http://www.benheck.com/ Others might nominate Wil Wheaton, but screw him. http://www.wilwheaton.net/ -
So they officially recognized it on the census, but they're not officially recognizing it? Again, at what point does the government tell people that their religion isn't real and doesn't count? Can't we do this to the Raelian cult? ( http://www.rael.org/ ) Can't we do this to Scientoligists, Christian Scientists, or any number of new religions that sprung up within the past 50 years? Hell, why don't we go so far as to not recognize any religion other than the 5 big ones? If enough people say that they truly believe in the Force, who is really to say they don't?

Would Mace Windu Have beaten Sidious?
EnderAndrew replied to jodo kast 5's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
George Lucas has said that Yoda is the most powerful Jedi. George Lucas has said that Anakin had the potential to become the most powerful Jedi, even more powerful than Yoda, but last time I checked, Anakin got beat down by Obi-Wan. -
Halo 2 made more in it's opening weekend than Spiderman 2 (the then record-holder) made in it's opening weekend. As video game grosses become more like movie grosses, video game budgets will become more like movie budgets.

And clearly when Yoda stumbled around Dagobah like an idiot, he was an idiot. -
This is the latest J.E. Sawyer interview on the game. I'm not normally big on dungeon crawl games, but this looks fairly promising. http://www.gameplaymonthly.com/interviews/gauntlet.htm

How is he wrong? The above article seems to suggest official recognition is tenuous, as it is officially recognized on the census, but not necessarily by the government (who runs the census). It's really a wishy-washy answer, but the BBC does in fact still have an article there to demonstrate it did occur.

Where did you get that number? It seems way too high given that it would require sales of one million games at a wholesale price of $25 just to break even (most companies prefer to make a profit btw). But average sales of a "hit" game doesn't currently approach that. So you got any backup for that number? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Recent news articles. Certain games are no doubt cheaper, especially if they don't predict large sales. However, I said major console games. It should be noted that some games cost significanly more as well. GTA:SA cost some $85 million dollars to make.

Would Mace Windu Have beaten Sidious?
EnderAndrew replied to jodo kast 5's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's hard to say it's a weak arguement considering that's how it went down. Yoda is the most powerful Jedi in the universe, and Palpy beat Yoda down. Palpy looked weak against Windu because he wanted to. -
My father in law is an English citizen, and he swears it's true. Even better, I've seen the news reports myself. There were enough votes that the census recognized it as an official religion. Imagine on principle if the government went out of their way to announce that they don't recognize the results of their own census as being valid, and better yet that they officially announce that they assume the answers on said census are inherently dishonest. Also imagine what kind of precedent you set by saying the government can take a religion claimed by large numbers of people, and declare it to be a mockery? Why not just declare Christian Science and Scientology to be jokes while we're at it?

Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions
EnderAndrew replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I hope everyone realizes that there is no chance any company will take a fan's suggestion for the storyline. They'd open themselves up to a lawsuit, it's unprofessional, and it defeats the purpose of paying a lead designer. We can suggest features, places, characters and the like, but largely the designer will design the game they see fit. -
Same here. The mafia recognize a structure of authority, and certain rules, but they are certainly not a good organization.
