  1. Speak for yourself. Woops. Did I say that out loud?
  2. The operative word there is thought. They exiled Kreia and never saw her again. It is reasonable for them to assume that she followed Revan to war and died there, but it doesn't make it true, nor does it require you to believe that the Master who said that was lying, in order to believe Kreia's version of events. The official version of the story is that Kreia did not fight at Malachor, which blows the whole Kreia is Kae thing right out of the water.
  3. As you gain more influence with him (through action rather than conversation), he will open up more about the war and blaming himself for what happened. Keep talking to him. At some point he will comment upon why he came with you on Telos and the effect you are having upon him, now that he is back with you. At that point, you are home and dry. Oh, and you need to be level 15 to make Jedi.
  4. It is not entirely unreasonable to suppose that Obsidian/LucasArts considered a story line whereby Kreia was Kae, for that Empire Strikes Back moment (and to tie her more firmly to both the betrayal of Handmaiden and Disciple if Kae was to be his master). But it would appear to have been abandoned early, leaving few traces. As the game shipped there is far too much evidence to the contrary; Kreia not fighting in the Mandalorian wars, being exiled at the wrong time for the wrong reason, being the wrong age, Disciple knowing Kae but not Kreia whilst Kreia is putting the whammy on him, and so on. Most of the evidence supporting is based open a lax interpretation; a Disciple line that isn't even in the game, his listing of Jedi Masters training Revan that only includes one woman: Kae, Kreias off-key comments about herself and the Handmaiden, etc... Basically you can argue it both ways and never be completely wrong.
  5. They've opened two threads on the forums recently; one for public input into the Atton's fate (which got locked after it turned into an argument about force ghosts, sadly) and one for public requests for inclusion in the mod. Both of which I take as a good sign that things are proceeding apace. Now the web site is back with us, I should think that there will be at least an audio update in our near future.
  6. Yup. HK-47 was supposed to jump in and save the day (LS) or side with G0-T0 and destroy the remote (DS). However, this involved understanding of certain things about the HK-50s that were revealed in the HK Factory. The HK Factory was cut from the game, so this scene didn't make sense and it was cut, too. Not that what was left made any more sense...
  7. Programmer too. Memory leaks are too easy to introduce (particularly with object orientation) if you don't program defensively. Once they have been introduced, they are the devil to find. Add time pressures and you can see why so many games fall prey to what should be a simple coding quality issue. You might as well ask why software ships with buffer overflow exploits or any other issue that shouldn't have been coded in in the first place. Too many people want to believe that blame for everything that went wrong with the game can be placed with one party; I was just trying to point out that it isn't as simple as that. Quite a few people want to believe that all would have been well if the game had been developed by BioWare. I don't believe that they could have done much better than Obsidian given the same timescale and time cuts. But then, BioWare wouldn't have accepted the timescale in the first place, and as they were apparently approached first by LucasArts, perhaps they didn't. Some people have had better results with older Catalyst drivers (version 4.12 is mentioned often).
  8. Some decent info in this thread. It's about locations where lightsabers can be found, but you will find lightsaber parts at these locations instead, until you have built your first saber.
  9. A little bit of all of the above. LucasArts made the decision to release early, and as they were handling the QA for this game it was in their hands alone to say that it was in an appropriate state for release. There are a few quest related problems that seem to be wholly caused by time pressures and poor QA; the redemption quest, the fuel for telos quest, the escaped criminals quest, the two Vogga quests... The ATI woes they inherited from the original BioWare game engine and the poor support of OpenGL in the ATI drivers. And, of course, there is that memory leak that seems to make all sorts of scripts randomly break if you keep playing the game for more than a couple of hours straight. If you pace yourself and stop and restart every so often you can avoid most of the problems with this. Nar Shaddaa seems to cause the most questions because - from the Red Eclipse onwards - it is a sequence of events, which the completion of each triggering the next. If one of these script triggers doesn't fire then you can hit a brick wall and can't continue. I've only ever had one problem here, with the Red Eclipse cutscene not playing, and stopping and restarting cured it for me.
  10. The Tobin/Nihilus conversation relates to a cutscene which is to be restored. I think the cutscene already exists, but isn't triggered. Thread here. The Sion / Nihilus conversation where they break their alliance won't be restored as it depends upon the possibility of Atris as Darth Treya. Thread here. I'm not sure about the additional Atris / Kreia conversation, but it I think it may be the same as the Sion / Nihilus. And don't apologise for your english; you used paragraphs which is more than many posters do.
  11. OK. I know where the armband mod can be downloaded from, but that doesn't mean I have used it myself. Just downloaded it and tried it out, and it worked fine for me. So: You have added EnableCheats=1 in the [Game Options] section of the swkotor2.ini? It doesn't seem to work if you put it anywhere else. The key press to call the console is the back apostrophe ` (on a UK keyboard; more cheating info here). As the console is invisible it isn't immediately obvious whether or not it is working. When you press g for giveitem, does your PC go into stealth mode? If so, then either you haven't added the EnableCheats=1 in the right place, or you aren't pressing the right key. Obtain the armband by typing giveitem d3_location (was d3_locator a typo?). Go to the equip screen and equip the armband (it was at the bottom of the list of equipable items for me). Then activate the armband (use the shield icon or press 6). The game should then go into "dialogue" mode and tell you the nearest NPC character. Seems to be plain sailing from there.
  12. Try this workaround, which is presently stickied at the top of the LucasArts forum.
  13. The door should have opened when you went after Mira to the Jek Jek Tar. So if you want to resolve the problem by reloading an earlier save and playing through again, then that is how far back you need to go. Quite a way, isn't it? Or you can use the whereami armband as has been suggested. Get it here, discussion here.
  14. Let's try to keep this thread with a high degree of visibility, plenty of views and replies, without giving a moderator reason to lock it. Too many other similar threads have fallen in the same way...
  15. More. Much more. Think in terms of gigabytes rather than megabytes. Currently movies stand at 800MB at a resolution of 640x480. Bumping the resolution to 1024x768 would increase the size by 150% (assuming current compression scales up). Even 800x600 would represent a 50% increase. None of this excuses the holding back of the HQ music, though. Currently music stands at 36MB. Much more manageable. Why can they not be separated if the movies are a problem? Indeed it does not. When you don't deliver what you set out to deliver, honesty is not the best policy. It is the only policy. To admit a genuine mistake is the best way to recover the understanding of your customers. Recovering the goodwill, however, is going to take some form of substantial patch, even if it isn't this one.
  16. Source? Confirmation? All I have seen is hopeful speculation and a reserved domain name. * EDIT * Not to say that I wouldn't welcome confirmation...
  17. Similar thread here (search is your friend; it sends me a card every Christmas): Also, in this, Darth Chaos suggests that the 1.0B patch fixes it. Do you have the patch installed?
  18. Obsidian have told us what they know. That the movies and music content was completed before the 1.0B patch shipped, and withdrawn from it at LucasArts' behest. That the separate patch for movies and music content was completed a week after confirmation of its existance, post 1.0B patch. Reading between the lines of CrazyJoe's post, Obsidian have done what we have done; asked LucasArts the question: when is the patch going to ship? And LucasArts have not responded to them, either. I really believe, now, that LucasArts would be happier if the movies and music patch were to die. What I cannot believe is that there will be no further bug-fix patch released, unless LucasArts have abandoned the possibility of a KotOR III. Now, that does concern me. And I no longer think that it is unthinkable that they would do so.
  19. Two people with similar problems had threads here and here.
  20. From the Chronicles of the Republic, which you can find on the official Kotor II site (or the GameBanshee site, here). So, no, she didn't follow Revan until after the Mandalorian Wars and Revan's fall.
  21. You scored as Obi-Wan Kenobi (Post Death of Qui-Gon Jinn). You are most like Obi-Wan Kenobi, after the death of his master. You have a powerful prescence and take the natural role of a leader. You respect the wisdom of those to come before you and are always training for personal growth. You now train the lightsaber form Soresu, a near completely defensive form, after witnessing what you considered a fatal flaw in your master\'s technique when he fell to Darth Maul. Your offense is carefully precise. You devote your life to harmony achieved through The Force and are one of four Jedi to retain identity after death. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Post Death of Qui-Gon Jinn) 89% Darth Revan 79% Yoda 79% Bastila Shan 79% Luke Skywalker 75% Mace Windu 71% Obi-Wan Kenobi (Pre Death of Qui-Gon Jinn) 61% Qui-Gon Jinn 61% Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus 61% Exar Kun 61% Darth Sidious 54% Anakin Skywalker 54% Darth Vader 46% Darth Maul 43%
  22. Just to be sure you have the correct site for the fourth bomb, have a look at the Ravager page from the GameBanshee walkthrough...
  23. You don't. To Be Continued... Oh, and Wild Storm, I understand your frustration with posts like this; i share it. But the copied reply was gold.
  24. The mandalorian armour mysteriously didn't have a helmet whenever it was equipped by anyone else even in K1, as I recall. Got me thinking just how the party in this game is so much better balanced than the Bioware original. In K1, I never even took T3 into the military base, much less off the ship. Zalbaar? A wookie scout? Are you kidding? I though they were supposed to be tough. Mission? What was that line? "A snot-nosed kid and a walking carpet"? And I can never hear that personal hygene thing between her and Zalbaar enough. Carth and Canderous? Well I took them for a spin hunting Kath hounds on the surface of Dantooine, but after that it was Jedis and HK all the way.
  25. Yup. Well, this is a "most useless" thread. Why use the useless? Intrigued by the lack of votes for Disciple (although I will grant that this isn't a "most hated" thread). I never found Mira useless, though; picking my way through all of the Ubese bounty hunters with just a couple of heavy blasters and master rapid shot was one of the more fun parts of the game. Of course, on replay I just stealth her out of there and leave them for the exile, rather than see the XP go to waste. Shame. She is particularly useful as a party leader on Dxun; with a little stealth she can recover the mines, disable the sensors, destroy the generators...
