I would have settled for an acknowledgement or small apology during the press release from Mike Gallo, rather than mentioning the PC's Feb 2005 release as an afterthought about the "Exciting" news about the XBox version.

I think the thing I'm most upset about is that LucasArts' decision has made me agree with everything Hades_One has stated on the topic. And quite frankly, that's just against my nature to agree with anything Hades says. But in all seriousness, as has been said, it's not about the release date being 2 months later. It's about the fact that EVERYTHING that's been said, previewed, answered in interviews, etc. said that there would be a simultaneous release. No, the extra 2 months won't kill me, and the time itself is of very little consequence. It's the fact I feel like I was lied to while they were busy hyping up the game. It also makes it sound like the XBox version was more important to them. Even the press release by Mike Gallo made it seem like that. Instead of him saying "We're happy that we're able to launch the XBox version by December, we're extremely disappointed that because of the production schedule, we won't be able to launch the PC title simultaneously as we'd wanted." If he said something like that, atleast it'd seem like they're acknowledging the PC fans, rather than his "Everything is perfect because we can release the XBox version in december!!!!!! oh, as a side note, the PC one should be out in feb".

does anyone have proof that they arent getting the same attention during development <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the fact that, miraculously, the XBox version just happened to be ready for December release, yet the PC version isn't?

Actually, the reason is because in every single magazine preview, interview, press release, LucasArts insisted that it'd be a simultaneous release.

You know what's funny? LucasArts is so wishy washy that they didn't even state a release date. Last time I checked, December 2004 has 31 possible dates. I would laugh so hard at all the XBox people laughing at us if the game isn't released til AFTER Christmas.

Where do you buy your upgrades? I think you're overpaying if it costs you that much for RAM or a new video card. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> canada!!! untill late last year it was costing me close to that to even think of upgrading to a good video card (then 128 MB) and what I meant for a good stick of Ram was about 512MB same time period. now both are down to around $150 but oh wait so is the PS2 and XBox. The problem with this point is that most people already own a computer and consequently have Windows already installed. Therefore, Microsoft doesn't make any more money by this release since most people will already have a computer and those that don't will not spend over 1000 dollars just for one game. On the other hand, not everyone has a XBox and there will be some who will buy an XBox just for this game. So therefore, it is not without reason that Gates and Co. would rather have an early XBox release than PC release.

I have bills to pay. I don't have anyone to get "santa" to buy it for me. I can't justify spending money on an XBox system just so I can play 1 game on it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're a minority, quite a lot bought a PS2 just to play Metal Gear Solid 2 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If I had extra cash laying around I would. There are some games I want that are on the XBox, but not enough to justify spending money on a gaming console rather that, oh I dunno, something like food and rent.

Apparently your ability to comprehend the complaints is also in question. It's not about the release date per se. It's about being deceived about a simultaneous release, only to find out that Microsoft's big pockets made them do otherwise.

Petitions won't matter to LucasArts because a)the console game market probably brings in a lot more revenue anyways and b)most of those who sign the petition will probably end up playing KOTOR:TSL anyways when it's released in February.

Hey Tyrell, in light of the recent release announced, here's a question you can ask Mike Gallo (if he's answering your questions): So why did you decide to screw over the PC fans once again after stating NUMEROUS TIMES in magazines, interviews, etc., that the games would be released simultaneously and that the PC fans wouldn't get the shaft?

I highly doubt Obsidian will use any "survivor" from the Star Forge as a character in their game.

If it'll delay the release in any way, or somehow diminish the final product, then hell no. If it'll be an easy addition (I know nothing about Linux), then I could care less.
