  1. Depends on the game. D&D games don't work as a single character game because the game is meant to be party based with each character fulfilling a different role. That is why I didn't like NWN as a single player game. You need at least 4 characters in a D&D party. It felt like it was nerfed so a lone Bard could win.
  2. Parties work better in third person games than in first person perspective games though or at least the games I have seen so far did.
  3. Yes, the sales aren't disappointing by any means at all.
  4. 9th place? What a disappointment. Couldn't even beat all those Sims games. But then what possibly can.
  5. Where did you get that idea from Tentamus? There were news articles about KOTOR selling 200,000 if not more within a few days or at most a week or two. It's a very big seller and I can't see how it did less than projections. If anything, it widely exceeded them.
  6. No, it isn't but it may mean the game would be different than if they stayed if they had much involvement which I don't think they did. It also may mean that they chose to make that game sucky by bailing on it. Or maybe the game sucked because Molitor and Caen and other upper level Interplay management wanted to release the game and wanted it that way. Or maybe becaue Eric Dallaire at Reflexive was happy with it. Maybe the game was rushed to release for the combination of these factors. I think Interplay's terrible management created more issues for Black Isle than you are acknowledging.
  7. No, it isn't but it may mean the game would be different than if they stayed if they had much involvement which I don't think they did.
  8. I have no idea who you are talking about. Okay Feargus and Chris Parker were involved as well but Feargus's involvement was probably slight and they left before the game shipped as well. Hmm... So three of Obsidian's founders were involved in some form with Lionheart. Still the majority of the blame should go on Reflexive and perhaps on Interplay management for releasing it.
  9. Care to list the ones that did, and their positions in both companies? No, you can look them up as well as I can. I already mentioned two employees of both companies, Chris Avellone and Brian Menze, designer and artist respectively at both companies. http://www.mobygames.com/game/credits/p,3/gameId,8635/
  10. LOL, only if you seperate the people from the companies, right? But I'm sure there could be other reasons why people would want Obs to put out sucky games, maybe some of the people who voted for sucky games would explain their votes? Most of the employees at Obsidian had nothing to do with Lionheart either. Go take a look at MobyGames. For designers, I think only Avellone was involved. For art, Brian Menze was involved. What involvement did they have? Can't say but it was probably light.
  11. I think I may have mentioned this before. Most employees at Obsidian had no involvement in Lionheart and the ones that did the involvement was light at most. Reflexive made their own choices in the game as to how to make it.
  12. So what would you conclude from here if the concensus of the poll was that the game should suck?
  13. Well, Karzak, all that your initial poll on this is "Should it not suck? Yes or No or Uncertain" Nothing about not giving into publisher's pressures or avoiding common pitfalls. There are lots of other reasons the game could suck as well.
  14. I voted no. Please make a sucky game so it would be a waste of your talents, money and our time and money. Don't see the point of the poll.
  15. Oh god no. I think all three of them can be valuable members of the forum community but not as moderators. Nothing personal though.
  16. I think Microsoft owns the Shadowrun license since they bought FASA. Will they make a game with it? I have my doubts.
