  1. You always see a lot of greens reading topics like this but they never post. Why? Because it's just a game to them. They're all laughing at us and the way we swarm over every Sith Lord morsal. The greens are the true dark lords.
  2. I like T-H-A-T. Thank you very much.
  3. I've been trying to find this quiz that people keep on talking about. I've been to the lucas arts homepage but I still can't find it. Can anyone give me directions?
  4. DS Luke, The dark side does not push you to do evil things nor does the light side push you to do good. Rather, the force acts as a prism. It reflects and amplifies parts of ourselves. The dark side doesn't corrupt, rather our own hatreds, fears, and angers lead us to corrupt ourselves. As long as there is good in a person, the light side resides in them. If allowed, it will grow and surface. Darth Vader is the best example of that. He embraced the dark side completely and committed atrocities beyond forgiveness but in the end we see that there is good still in him.
  5. I would not be surprised if we met a Sith Lord that wasn't all bad and a Jedi that had deluded themselves into believing various evil acts were okay as long as they helped to defeat the Sith. Desperate times make for desperate people.
  6. SilverSun: " Though I'm curious, does this mean they're all very dark romances? With rather bitter sweet ends to them?" That is what it sounded like to me. Developers continue to call this a very 'dark' game, much like "The Empire Strikes Back" was the darkest of the three movie. It makes sense that the romances in this game would soak in the general tone and mood. DarthDoGooder: " Could be? Could be? It was, is and forever shall be!" I understand your appreciation for this game and the company who created it but, in my experience, attitudes like this tend to lead to disappointment. This is the first game from a new company and while I do believe it will be excellent there are always aspects of a game that aren't what we desire or that could have used just that much more polish. If nothing else, perhaps you ought to play the game before you decide that it's the best RPG of the decade. jabberwalki " is it possible to become uh, robosexual?" Romancible hoverbikes? Given that Tw'lik pleasure slaves serviced you with massages, it would be easy enough to slip that into the game. It's somewhat unlikely that you'll develop a romantic relationship with any of the game's droids, however. Tel Aviv: " I found this particularly interesting. Though perhaps my feeble brain has misunderstood. Does this mean plot related romances between characters outside the party." I interpreted it as meaning a possible romance between the PC and an NPC not in the party. Such is the ambiguous nature of Chris' comment though that any number of interpretations could be made. I guess we'll just have to wait until Tuesday. Bazarel: " Just hope all romances have a possibility to lead somewhere, with hard work hate the ones where you work hard on them and in the End, sorry my position cant allow such or we shouldnt do this it not the way of the Jedi lets stay friends." I hope all romances lead to whatever conclusion is the best for those two characters. For some that might mean consummation while others might mean break-up. Loazi: " You watch those shows? So what, you're saying that sexual tension is the key to any good sitcom/videogame?" I think he's saying that with a romance, sexual tension is more compelling before acknowledgement and consummation. If so, that's an understandable though somewhat masculine view. I'd suggest that compelling sexual tension is simply easier *to write* in the before stage. Likely because the western idea of 'romance' has its roots in a social environment of arranged marriages and sexual repression. Like all literature, early romantic reflected the morality of its time and after a character's sexual tension was acted on the mood often turned tragic. The romance of Lancelet and Genevieve are good examples. Kazic: " Lets just keep it traditional shall we? Ya'll don't want any "man love" and I certainly don't want any girl action, so lets keep it clean, I think." I appreciate your sentiment on this matter and perhaps same-sex romances would not be an element LucasArts would desire in their games. However, as all romance is player-controlled, I don't think this is something you'll have to worry about. On the other hand, my sentiments don't exactly mirror yours and perhaps neither did that of the original developer as there was a same-sex romance in the first game. I am rather curious as to whether or not Obsidian has done the same be it "man love" or "girl action". Either way, there is no doubt in my mind that Obsidian would "keep it clean".
  7. I haven't read them yet but I assume they'll have something to do with the plot.
  8. It's also an X-Box only game and it isn't due out for some time.
  9. The hips do not blame the chocolate. They blame the mouth.
  10. If you want to RP as RPGs were "meant" to be RP simply speak with them. It's not as though something is preventing you from doing so.
  11. Will the game give you hints as to the best way to gain influence or is it a matter of guessing? As in, HK-50 probably likes acts of violence. Handmaiden probably likes to know you appreciate her. Another NPC might like it when you pick clever solutions over brute force.
  12. The rules aren't strict. It's just most people rarely read the rules and many forums don't enforce their rules completely. The forums might be swarmed in the next few months with newcomers and I can appreciate the moderators feeling the need to 'buckle down'. I hope that we can keep the light touch moderation I've become comfortable instead of Obsidian having to come down hard on the boards because a minority of members can't act in a mature manner. Just in case it comes up later, would my avatar be considered "pornographic, indecent or otherwise inappropriate?"
  13. I found the entire flashback/dream bit to be a dead give away as the ONLY thing the PC dreamed about was Bastila fighting Reven.
  14. I pre-ordered from Lucas Arts (free shipping and a t-shirt). In my experience, stores get priority over individual sales when it comes to shipping.
  15. Oddly enough, amazon.com UK is selling pre-orders for HL2 on x-box. I agree that with X-Box 2 prjected for next Christmas Microsoft would be wise to ship it for that system.
  16. I've already ordered the x-box version and won't be picking up the pc unless they add major new content. The developers have suggested that won't be the case, however. ampulator00, Nartwak was having some fun with you. Please don't take his responce as being genuinly hostile as I'm certain that was not his intent.
  17. I think if you can find a reviewer with the same aesthetics and priorities as you then their reviews tend to be 'accurate'. Reading reviews from more than one source as well as word of mouth tends to give you a good idea of a games strengths and weaknesses. For instance, based on the reviews I read I was uninterested in Vampire: Bloodlines but the reviews combined with comments in the RPG forum have persuaded me to try it.
  18. Because story, characters, and gameplay are more important than polygon count?
  19. I've seen him insulting people at the Bio boards.
  20. I have both a PC and an X-box and have found the console to be quite enjoyable for a number of reasons. 1. Games for X-Box will always work on an X-Box. 2. 6 hour gaming sections are much more comfortable on the couch. 3. If someone else needs to use the computer then I can still play my game. 4a. Some games are only available on X-Box or 4b. Some games are play better with a controller than mouse and keyboard 5. I can play with or against a friend by plugging in another controller. No dealing with dial-up or LANs.
  21. Who stole the A's from mista me's 'whats'?
  22. In twelve days, this board will be swarming with new posters. Unless we create a newbie bashing regiment of the most sinister and hash nature these beasts will overwhelm us and destroy the Obsidian Boards. To arms my brothers! Raise the black rock banner! Let no newbie be un-flamed. Let no question be unridiculed. Let them know fear and this wave of immigrants will fall before us trembling and weeping in submission. Who
  23. Congratulations Obsidian. I
  24. Then Canderous is definitely Mandalore. My proof? The beginning of Canderous is
  25. I agree, Mandalore is Canderous. Ah.. Who is Mandalore again?
