  1. As a game, it's inferior to The Longest Journey. As a story, it's stronger. Tell me what your score is when you hit the end.
  2. Lord Elden: " I think the newest re-release has both FOs in the same package." Indeed they do. I now have two copies of the first FO, as I lent FO2 to a friend who then moved to Montana. I've never played FO as I've heard FO2 is the same thing, only better. "Personally, I have the first versions bought sometime back in '98, they came in those large cardboard boxes (although they take much place, I like them more than the DVD boxes games come in nowadays, at least they used to print large manuals for the games back then, now you get to read the manual on the disc instead, annoying" Bah, I say, and double bah. Those huge boxes were a waste of space, and the move to little or no manual happened before the smaller boxes became popular. I remember opening many of those large boxes to find a jewel case with the manual a flimsy, square-shaped, set of six pages stapled together. On the other hand, a well designed DVD case can hold a manual the size of NWN2's, while I remember getting a the original NWN and its manual in a small box.
  3. Please, look at these lyrics. If this isn't emo speak, I don't know what is. :ninja10:
  4. Neverend. It never started.
  5. If the box exploded when you opened it, it would be better than what some of these guys think.
  6. I realize that, but as I'm playing both of them at once, the contrast is striking. It's a combination of technology, strong voice acting, and great writing, but the NPCs, even the minor ones, in Bloodlines feel far more real than those in other games. The paranoid druggy behind the bulletproof glass, Burtrum Tung's far too eager ghoul, Heather, and Mercurio all have their own personality, but they all feel like WoD characters as well.
  7. This is such an awesome game. Jack, the first NPC, has more life in him than all the party companions in Fallout 2 pur
  8. Concept art.
  9. I don't think this game was made for stealth play. *wants chocolate sex with a better computer*
  10. I wouldn't can it great... but it's fun despite the hiccups.
  11. I will never understand sequalistis.
  12. Better than V:tM Bloodlines? Nah. I just realized Deus Ex came out before BG 2.
  13. As a citizen of Las Vegas, I'm rather unhappy that Reno has survived the apocalypse and we haven't. Not only is much of Reno skuzzy, but we have rich people building an entire mini-city under a huge dome. I'm hoping they have a BioShock like mutation frenzy, and thirty years from now one of my children will wonder around the ruins of the dome, blasting away at monsters.
  14. The NWN toolset is simple to use. Seriously, that's it. A smoother learning curve means more people finishing their first module. This means less people trying to make their first module but getting frustrated and giving up. Once you have that first module out there, you get the positive feedback and you 'feel' like part of the community, and you're more likely to make a second one that's a bit more polished, and uses a bit more features.
  15. "A bad idea done well is better than a great idea never done." Who said that? Anyways, I figured out what my mod is going to be. Tomorrow I'll write a design doc (note to self, figure out what design doc is and how to write one) and we'll see if anything comes of it. I trust myself not.
  16. The party companions in NWN loved you no matter what you did.
  17. Neat, you get to fry a triceratops and give plant elementals wedgies!
  18. I'm surprised when I hear people say they're not familiar with the Brother's Grimm. I mean Snow White, Cinderella, The Three Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Repunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty - I can't imagine childhood without these tales.
  19. You're right. Sucky design decision Dark Raven. You should be ashamed.
  20. Hmm, half-dragon, half-vampire kobold bard/dragon disciple
  21. No, no, what she means is she wants it to look like this: Bold design desicion Dark Raven, I approve.
  22. Wandered around Broken Hills and solved a few quests. Killed the intelligent scorpian. Now I'm in New Reno and it turns out I'm not good enough to be a porn star. Sadness.
