Oh, I'm not trolling. I just don't like you, but I am sure the feeling is mutual. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The force is strong in this one, and you're right. Could it be **** envy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good one, but nope. I just really don't like you. I am sure we will continue this later...

Not impressed with what you do for a living. Why do you keep mentioning it?
-
Well it does not really seem to work. Threatening to beat people up over posts does not speak well for your self control.

At least you didn't buy this game
DarthSchlong replied to RedPanther1's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
My brother and I worked our butts off doing chores to buy ET. It sure was funny to look at those screenshot and remember how mad we were about that game. -
What?! Remote on Peragus II?!
DarthSchlong replied to darth spock's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What do u mean it can't be killed...that thing gets killed so easy on mal 5 its pathetic...and it has no firing power so Im basically running as fast as I can past the storm beasts and etc. while I get the parts beggin to survive...I hate that part of malachor <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. It may have been my least favorite part of the entire game. Since you have to fill in the blanks on what happens with Goto, just pretend Remote is saving up all his awesome fighting skills, cleaverly hidden during the entire game, to unleash on Goto. We just don't get to see it because, even though it is droid vs droid, the butt kicking Goto receives is so brutal they had to cut it to keep a teen rating. Makes the whole mad dash for parts more tolerable. -
I don't think the complaints about this game are going to end anytime soon so you might want to look into an anger managment class or get a girlfriend or something.

And you know this how? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because they haven't released the patch in over 2 months. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, not valueing their customers would be not making a patch at all, the fact that one is being worked on should make people happy. Like I said, Obsidian's biggest problem other than the contract they are in has been announcing a patch in the first place. Think of how much less yelling would be going on if a patch had not been announced. If they wanted to do a patch they should have kept quiet until release its release. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They should have never used the word 'soon'. I think it would have saved them alot of grief if they had just omitted that one word.

What is your favorite alien language?

I did not care for the Selkath either. -
Should Revan Have An "Offical" Gender?
DarthSchlong replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think Revan's offical gender should be male because, to me, the story was better as a male and the name seems more masculine. The Exile from KotOR2 does seem to fit with a female character better. I have not finished KotOR2 as a female character yet, but some of Atton comments makes for some good laughs. -
Is Anyone A Bastila/Carth/Revan Trio Fan?
DarthSchlong replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I liked Revan, Bastilla and Jolee. Carth got on my nerves but he was damn useful in the sewers of Taris. I think Jolee was my favorite and I loved the "Pulling a Bindo" line in KotOR2. Best line of the game. -
I have nothing really against dark games. I just don't want another one and another one and another one, etc .... It s kinda sad that Trokia died, but after ToEE I can't say I am suprised. That game was really buggy and I am sure it hurt sales of their future titles. I know I did not buy another Trokia game after ToEE. I bet a darker story did fit Bloodlines well. It sounds like the perfect game to do one with. Hey, if dark stories are going to be OE niche, then that is cool. I am sure there will always be a market for anything that is not mainstream. And it is great to have options. I agree totally with your pidgenholed comment.

Strange. Big Evil Fish Mastermind? We may never know.

well i suppose i should apologise on behalf of obsidian for making a dark and depressing game for you....and i feel i must apologise in advance for how dark and depressing kotor 3 could be. oh wait why dont you just not buy kotor 3? and not buy NWN 2? no one force fed you kotor 2 and if you actually read reviews before blindly purchasing a game then you wouldnt be so dissapointed with how dark kotor 2 is even though everyone else seemed to like the new theme. what, you want a game where everythings all happy and the universe is devoid of evil? ask one of your parents to buy you a crash bandicoot game im sure it should outstrip your age group but it sure as hell wont be dark and gloomy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like it or not, other people have valid opinions too. You know, I have a PM from a OE developer that states he would like lighter stories than they usually write. Are you ready to make the same insults to him? Here is a copy of the PM. I have deleted the name of the developer but it should not be too hard to figure out who it is. Re:Dark stories, Mar 7 2005, 10:30 AM I know I'd like to see a lighter one as well. As for NWN2, I think we are trying to keep it a little lighter than some of our other games. It's certainly not going to be an "everyone dies" type of story which seems to get written by our designers fairly often. - -------------------- Obsidian Entertainment, Inc. D'oh! I guess your statement about "even though everyone else seemed to like the new theme" is not entirely accurate, now is it? FYI: I like lighter stories in games because I have a wife, family, mortgage, a small company to run, basically a whole lot on my mind and when I have time to play a game, I want something lighter than what KotOR2 was.

A "finished" verson of KoTOR2 from Obsidian?
DarthSchlong replied to romeo_longsword's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You shouldn't mind reading a LOT. Torment is almost an interactive novel with a refreshingly original setting and the most developed NPCs which I know of. Most praise and confidence in Obsidian is actually based upon Torment and to a lesser extent on the Icewind Dale series, especially one. If some of the Obsidian stuff could produce games of such high quality I refuse to give them up right away and am willing to give them the benefit of doubt for now. If they manage to fail equally with NwN 2 I might reconsider my attitude. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well PS:Torment must be great if people are willing to give OE a pass on KotOR2 because in my honest opinion KotOR2 is pretty bad in its current state. For NWN2, based on what I have seen from OE, it will be better than the OC but worse than Hordes of the Underdark. Hope I am wrong. -
A "finished" verson of KoTOR2 from Obsidian?
DarthSchlong replied to romeo_longsword's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It has been discussed to death but I don't think that Obsidian had a say on when to finish the game. Bioware is lucky enough that they are a very big and influential by now and probably cannot be bossed arount that easily. By the way, there are more then 3 Black Isle people working at Obsidian. I remember that Feargus mentioned once that roughly half of the staff are ex-Black Islers and Chris Avellone is one of the three people which were heavily responsible for Torment. I felt the same quality in KotOR II, but as with everything else most character arcs are plain uncomplete and come to a grinding halt after the first few conversations. Nevertheless, characters like Kreia which are less incomplete were a real joy to converse with. In my opinion even the half-finished NPCs were far more enjoyable than anything Bioware devised (minus Joyee). Different tastes, I guess. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never played PS:Torment but I have seen it at Fry's for $2.00 or something like that. As much as people mention it, I might have to pick it up. -
A "finished" verson of KoTOR2 from Obsidian?
DarthSchlong replied to romeo_longsword's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not trying to be a jerk but,.. What example's of Obsidian Entertainment's writing skills do we have? I thought there were only three people or so from Blask Isle there. That is not really an example of how well OE writes. In my mind, we only have KotOR 2 as an example of OE writing skills and it is not very good. -
Just Me Or Are the Scripts Horrible
DarthSchlong replied to BudaKhan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, KOTOR 2 had an ending, just not a very good one. If you want a game that truly has no ending, try Max Payne 2 or Republic Commando. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Never played Max Payne 2 and only played Republic Commando for about 15 minutes. How did the "not-endings" work in thoose? -
Well, "self-fulfilling prophecy" or not, if they put a freaking ending on the story they could have sqaushed a bunch of the critics. A solid story, begining to end, should have been job number one if they wanted to win the doubtful over. If OE does make KotOR 3 and they still have not released a content patch for the PC and Xbox (somehow) then it is going to get really, really ugly.
-
Oh gawd. It says OE is making KotOR 3. I guess I should get ready for another OE style story, dark and depressing. NWN 2 better not have dark story or more people than me are going to start thinking that OE can't do any other type of story. Hopefully this is just a rumor and nothing more.

Obsidian doesn't care about its customers

Freezing, Glitches, & Broken Quests
DarthSchlong replied to Sophrosune's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Never heard of that or maybe you were just being funny. Is that a real bug? -
I'm done. My recommendation.
DarthSchlong replied to ShockandAwe's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That is cool. We all have different tastes when it comes to entertainment, some people actually liked KotOR 2, but I would download the demo before I wrote it off totally. The only reason I ever tried the game was because it was recommended and I am glad I did.
