  1. I was a little dissapointed with the opening scroll text. Now it makes sense why they never leaked it before the game came out. It would have hurt the game's buzz. This has always been the set-up for each movie. When the reviews talk about why KOTOR 2 dosen't have the epic feel of KOTOR 1 the reson for this starts out with the opening text. Re-read the first one then read the second one and see what i mean. They could have referenced some stuff form Kotor 1 like Malak's defeat at the hands of Revan (which happens regardless of light or Dark) before going into the whole lack of jedi/sith running rampant thing. Out of the whole ST mythos (or whateva you want o call it) the opening text is the part that represents the old movie serials the most so the text should have a grandure to them that it just dosen't in KOTOR 2. Plus is it just me or does the amount of text not fully cover the music like it supposed to. again check the first one then then second and tell me what u think... Devs your input would also be appreciated...
  2. It may be, but this guy claim IMDB had said info up, when it doesn't. It's still just speculation <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry my SPECULATION comes form the Kotor2 manual and i looked up the name on IMDB which is why i know John Cygan is both Mandalore & Candorus. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also Master Vrook (Ed Asner) is in the game as well <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. This should be moved to the spoiler forum 2. Did it list mandalore as cygan or did it just credit cygan in general. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1.) i guess it's already been moved 2) It did list Manalore as Cygan
  3. Think of it this way Sorall this time any addition that the PC get will be exculsive since KOTOR2 has NO DLC for x-box

  6. KOTOR 1 actually had more FMV's then were in the movie (ie. the Ebon Hawk leaving Taris etc.) but 64 is still very impressive but remember you take alot more shuttles and things in this game and those are two FMV's a peice
  7. I just checked IMDB.com and it says the voice actor for you Mandalore character in this game is the same one who played Candorus in KOTOR 1 looks liek you may have him back on the team eh...oh yeah and Kelly Hu (Lady Deathstrike in the movie x-men 2) is playing Visas Marr
  8. won't begin till i get home tonight!
  9. Hey guys If you are in the area of Toronto, Canada, EB game in the Eaton Center has started selling KOTOR 2. I saw like 50 copies on the shelves & those will be gone soon. I don't know how many more they have after that so get'em while you can! It was cool watching all the posts guys Hope you all enjoy the game... KS
  10. With all of the ramifications that come form chossing a path is it stilll possible to go from one side of the force to the other within the span of the game?
  11. I agree Tyrell I had mentioned this before. Bioware did a lot more to promote their games with the fans. The multipule trailers & game footage with multiple character wallpapers. They got advertising here in Canada by having commercials on TV and in the movie theatre. These all helped genreate buzz for the game and I just hate not seeing this game get it due promotion-wize. I know over-promotion can create high expectations & I know that giving people too much too soon kill interest for a product but I still feel that TSL is being under-promoted & for such a high profile game that is really too bad.
  12. I find it weird why they discuss the sith war but never tell how it ended. They end the peice by saying "...the Jedi were in disary." and that's not how the Sith War ended. I assume they will make a chronicle about Ulic's redemtion but the stuff about him being sealed off from the Force should be a part of the Sith War Chronicle...
  13. Hell no! I love KOTOR & I don't even have that much love for FPSs but Halo 2 destroys all compitition. FPSs do have more of a following because of there online capability's and their long history with PC gamers. Then there's Halo 2's marketing. I mean they built 4 years of hype on a sequel to a game of the year. KOTOR only had one. The pumped out commecials & movie trailers to promote the game they even had a countdown in Time Square. Game of The Year 2004 Halo2 RPG of the Year: KOTOR 2 (Thank god all the major RPG competition Jade Empire & Advent Rising won't bne released till 2005) Underrated game of the year: Tie between spiderman 2 & x-men legends
  14. Alright I have to say it. KOTOR1 WAS MARKETED TWICE AS MUCH AS THIS GAME IS WHAT IS GOING ON! For a sequel to a 2003 game of the year I thought there would be more pump put into this game all i have seen so far is some ads in comics & mags. By this time KOTOR one had a commercial out on TV and in Movie theaters. They had three offical trailers (not to mention the featture & game footage movies on game websites) The offical site had music and tons of wallpaper to download I mean if the game was complete enough to get it's release date pushed up for the x-box verson they should able to put some push into it. I belive this "little" things add to the sucsses of a game. Like a movie these things generate buzz and that is important. I know a lot of people liked KOTOR a lot more then the SW pequels and not matter what anyone says i belive lucasarts pushed to get game out early so as not to crowd/upsatge the Episode 3 game & movie and it's marketing but at the same time their (haste/greed) may hurt the potential of sucsess for the sequel to best Starwars game ever created. I know obsidian can make a great game out of Sith Lords. I just wish it was marketed in the way that the first one was. What do think guys?
  15. Honestly to me this dosen't make much of a difference. The reason being: The first KOTOR only had 1 DLC and that was after MANY MANY months of waiting. For it to me that is even more unacceptable I would rather them scratch the idea of DLC if they aren't going to give you somthing substantial The key word here is WORTH. If a game can't put out a resonable amount of DLC in a resonable amount of time after the games release then it's honestly not worth doing. You only piss of your fan base by doing that. And as for balls, it takes more balls to stand up to your fans and say "we'd rather give you nothing then give you CRAP!"
  16. This sounds like I'm going to be force to do side missions where my main character isn't involved. I hate it to no end when games do that. I have a main character as someone to identify with in game and then force me to do side missions without him/her just annoys me. If this happens too often I will put me off totally from the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The reason that they decided to do this in the game is because it is a recurring concept in Star Wars movies. ANH: Luke & co rescue Leia while Obi wan shut down force feild EMPIRE Luke vs. vader while Leia & co escape cloud city Jedi: Luk vs Vader & Rebels vs imperials on and off planet Many KOTOR fans have commented on KOTOR being to dependent on JEDI and the lack of involvement and or usefulness of the other NPC's so I applaud Obsidians determination to make adjustment to this with the sequel.
  17. Ha just like I said in the first place
  18. Hey man, I honestly belive the issue is the amount of info needed to make KOTOR that prevents it from being on playstation Xbox is a system that has a BUILT IN harddrive which is neccesary to save your KOTOR game you see X-box owners cannot save KOTOR games on the memory card. Where normal games take up one or two blocks a KOTOR save game takes up like 1600. Since PS2 dosent have a built in hardrive it makes playing KOTOR impossible. KOTOR 2 will be like this as well, so PS2 gamers which have to wait till the ROTS ep3 game to get their lightsaber fix. Sorry
  19. COOL!!!! my questions got answered BOTH of them sweet thanks Tyrell!
  20. Here are my questions: 1) In KOTOR, Bioware not only used exiting EU material but made some additions to it with things like "Unknown planet" & the Rakkatans (there relationship to the history of Tattoine etc.) Will Obsidian be adding there own original material (Planets, races etc.) to the EU with Sith Lords or will they just use existing material 2) It was said that TSL was going to have a darker feel than KOTOR could you expand on this? Is this darkness felt throughout game or just speciffically in some of the quests you have to acomplish 3) In Kotor the music only used existing music themes for the opening & the character theme etc. In TSL will more existing themes be used less etc. 4) Throughout the SW timeline (in EU material) The Jedi & Sith Holocrons represented items of power. Will these be mentioned in TSL?
  21. True, but it doesn't necressiary mean that it's conneted to the first picture. True It could be Onderon Duxn or Dantooine speaking of planets, you guys watched the trailer.... what do you think that planet with the red hazy backround is? The one with the ebon hawk parked & the jedi on the landing platform?
  22. First off: very nice pics great to finally see some of the planet approches for the Ebon Hawk anyway all those ships in the vacinity probably mean that that planet in Onderon. Because I read somwhere that planet would in the midst of a blockade because of some rebellion/civil unrest that's happennign on the planet. devs? what u think ;-)
  23. Okay Many of you have seen the trailer & I personally thinks it's great but their are still things that could have made it better what do you think? Here were my suggestions Music: Much of the music was from a new hope when vader made his apperance on Leia's ship. I would have used the music from the Emperor's theme which was also used for the Phantom Menace Darth Maul "Fear" commerical Cinematics: We need some scenes with the Ebon Hawk! CG's of some of the planets Action: Scenes with the double lightsaber, fights with a sith lord, fights with other members of your party. What do you think?
  24. Now that I would disagree with! I think the dev could make the ancient world look the way it should. They did an excellet job with the Valley of The Dark Lords on Korriban. Rakattan World also looked pretty ancient to me
