I am on a team of people currently restoring the planet........ heres the link to our site http://www.geocities.com/m4_78/M4-78 any information you need on the planet and its storyline I'd be ahppy to give you......... what do you want to know?
-
they cut M4-78 out shortly after E3, for a couple of reasons 1. the plot they had planned for it was very reminiscent of peragus 2. They had way to little time 3. Some of the other planets like Nar Shadaa didnt have too much on them so they moved things there ( for example that puzzle at the Nar Shadaa docks was originally on M4-78) so they had to cut the planet for a few reasons but the good news is, were restoring the planet and zll of the content we possibly can on it heres our website if you want to check it out http://www.geocities.com/m4_78/M4-78

hate to burst your bubble but team gizka is not restoring it...... but we are, if you hop on over to their forums you will see the section for the M4-78 restoration project that is being done seperatly from the TSLRP incase your interested, here is the link to the M4-78 website http://www.geocities.com/m4_78/M4-78

Things that went wrong with this game
Black_Eye_90 replied to ShadowCaster's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I agree, influence was a good idea that was simply poorly executed for example I really liked the influence system because it forced me to bring other characters off the ship from time to time, where as in k1 I used Jolee and Bastila on almost every planet but they really screwed up with the amount of influence hits they put in the game......... there are so few influence hits for some characters you are literally "forced" to use them at certain times........they should really have taken a look at the game and added at least 3 times more influence hits it was also a bit odd how once you had turned good characters too the darkside, they would still preach LS ideas...........instead of having dark side line of thought so generally influence was a good idea but it simply wasnt develloped enough -
The droid factory was supposed to be found on Telos the restoration project will be restoring that, and putting it on Telos however M4-78 is also being restored by a seperate group of people entirely, go check there website here, or go read about it on the TSLRP forums www.geocities.com/m4_78/M4-78

noob resolution question
Black_Eye_90 replied to Black_Eye_90's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
k my desktop resolution is set at 1024 by 768 pixels it is not a flat screen monitor just for reference, it it a pretty old monitor I believe however my computer is pretty new so what resolution should I use in kotor because every time I pick a higher number of resolution............the screen size shrinks, is that normal?? -
noob resolution question
Black_Eye_90 replied to Black_Eye_90's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion

heres an interesting bit of cut content that was just brought to my attention...... ever wonder why there were sith on the tomb in Dxun??? I know now Nihilus was there!! that right our very own dark lord of pain was supposed to be in the tomb on Dxun draining force energy for himself, and thats why those three sith assasins were there as well...... it was supposed to give more meaning to the whole party members confronting nihilus thing..........and would have given much more meaning to who you chose to lead the mission for example had you chosen Visas?? and the great thing is this is completely possible to add!! Nihilus doesnt have any dialogue! and neither do you party members at that point in the game.....so I sincerely hope the TSLRP will look in to it or maybe an independent modder will it would give much more meaning to that whole segment of the story, and it would give a little more screen time for Nihilus I think this is awesome, any thoughts?

this is going to sound really stupid but I've just never really asked before what exactly does resolution do? I mean I normally play kotor and kotor 2 at whatever resolution is standard..... but I don't really know what changing the resolution will do? I mean one time I changed the resolution for kotor just to try it out and my screen shrunk to a smaller size and it looked a hell of a lot better....... I would like to find a way to make the game look better but with the screen staying the same could anyone give me a quick answer on how to do this? how do I make my game look better? what exactly does resolution do? what would be a good resolution to set it too? anyways sorry for the noob question

Things that went wrong with this game
Black_Eye_90 replied to ShadowCaster's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I want to see cities and planets that can exist and give a impresion that they can be real. Taris, is a good example. Citadel Station and Preagus II don't seem like such, but the are also done quite well and give such an impression. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have very simillar problems with the game..........kotor 1 felt so full of life, Taris was a beutifull yet decptively dark planet that looked absolutely amazing to play through, Dantoinne was also a Beutifull planet to be on, that sunsett effect was stunning to see you also had Kahyyk with its moonlight and torches and Manaan with its great polished city feel to it, the areas in kotor were simply breathtaking and if you take a look at kotor 2 in comparison, Peragus was alright, I liked the space stationesque feel it had, but something was lacking, it just didnt seem very "star wars" to me............then you had citadel station which was awfull, the textures were very ugly and even the little pieces of nature on the station looked very artificial. And if you look at any of the other planets, Dantoinne was downright ugly, especially in comparison to what it used to look like, and Nar Shadaa was also pretty bland as well, ON the plus side though I really liked both Dxun and ONderon they both conveyed a unique feel to them but areas aside the other big problem I had was the people on the planets. If you look at kotor 1 you have plenty of characters to talk to who will tell you about the sith occupation of taris, or react to the racist alien man in the uper city. Planets actually felt real and alive because there were characters there to support that. If you look at kotor 2 the characters on planets are horrible. On citadel station you can get one of two generic answers out of anybody walking by. There is nothing for any NPC to react too, its very bland. OR in the JEk JEk Tar aliens just randomly ignore you!! what the hell is that?? they should be trying to throw me out of the bar or something not ignore me!! all and all I found the game lacking in its "star wars" feel, and the areas and planets just did not come alive for me, as they did in kotor 1 -
High Quality Media patches?????
Black_Eye_90 replied to Bobba Fett's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
how many new movies did you say there was?? I thought it was only citadel station going nova that was included.... are you sure there are 5 or 6? -
I would vote this game as excellent untill the sequence with the jedi masters on dantoinne despite all the cut - content in the general game, the storyline was still pretty good.........but as soon as you hit the enclave all hope is lost of playing a decent game you go through a bunch of brutally easy fights........and then you go through the most poorly laid out planet I've seen........I don't know about you guys but I've done some mapping before, and on Malachor I could look up and see the edges and corners of the skybox! noy to mention the fact that there was no texture on the very top of the skybox, that just anooys me..........and thats not even mentioning how your party just dissapears in to oblivion never to be seen again but the way I look at it is this for a game put together in 12 months.....that is A+ material.......that is more then a lot of dev's could do in 12 months, however if I ranked kotor 2 with all the other properly develloped games that are out these days I would say C+ tops

High Quality Media patches?????
Black_Eye_90 replied to Bobba Fett's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I dunno..........youd have to look at who the publisher of nw2 will be the impression I get is that Lucas arts runs it company like a totalitarian regime....and that is why we get little to nothing from obsidian so I'm sure Obsidian having probably had a bad experience with lucas arts will be trying very hard not to have an equally brutal time with neverwinter knights 2 -
High Quality Media patches?????
Black_Eye_90 replied to Bobba Fett's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
this whole kotor 2 fiasco is just very very sad....... not only do they give us a very rough and unpolished final product, they decide to give almost no support for it whatsoever has anyone ever seen a dev on these boards commenting on the buggyness of the game? nope has anyone ever seen anybody commenting about all the cut content? or maybe even saying the TSLRP is a good idea? nope the whole thing is just a good example of bad customer service I wasn't all that dissapointed with the first patch they put out because with that patch ( after I think 3 months of owning the game and not being able to finish it ) I was finally able to get past the jek jek tar and see the ending...........which really wasnt worth seeing but this patch is probably the biggest dissapointment I've had............the music is now great but so what?? thats what I expected in the final product, not a patch.......and lucasarts has the nerve to not even host it themselves........oh and call the patch "optional" that makes me laugh too I'm just very dissapointed by the whole thing
