  1. The monk has a nice advantage, with high to very high health/endurance, accuracy and deflection. That's especially strong at the start of the game, but not that much pronounced with talents, so basically ebbs off over time. I think it would be a solid choice if Interrupting Blows would actually work, since you could make use of the high attack speed with fists. The running speed is nice to outrun enemies or pull them together - some monsters fight each other (like bandits and trolls). I try that, but 175 kills is really low and I fear i might be too weak for the endgame. Act 1 went quite smooth after I managed to get into Raedric's Hold. You can loot the whole stronghold if you sneak him up and agree to kill his cousin. I only needed to kill a single guard on my way. I had to reload very often, though. In Act 2, I did all the running quests and the Catacombs, now I am up to choose a fraction and have to clear Heritage Hill. Since I am only level 5, I see a problem there. So far I have 35 kills and could be slightly lower (I killed Plate Mail Backer Guy in Gilded Vale and Eorn in the Catacombs). My plan is to kill as few as possible and do some bounties to level up, since I figured I get the best exp/kill there. I did not touch Caed Nua. If I find out I am to weak for the end fight, I will split up the save: one fork with a level 12 char to solo and another one with companions for the pazifist completion.
  2. You can buy level 11 adventurers once you are level 12. That's fine to test since you are at the endgame right now.
  3. I'd like to give the pet an item, maybe a single itemslot for a ring or necklace. That would allow to customize it a bit and also strenghten, but not too much. I think the fox of Sagani is a bit on the weak side, even if you have a Priest.
  4. The achievement allows 175 kills. I have 20 so far... I am not sure how many "forced kills" there are in the game which I can't avoid, so I better stay low for now. I suppose Act 1 is the hardest, afterwards I will try to find the route which requires the least kills and will do any available fed-ex quest to increase my exp. I tried several times to aggro only a single swampling, but was so bad in it, that I started to suspect there is some kind of group aggro. Guess I have to learn that! Thanks for the heads up
  5. I figured I'd try to get the pazifism achievement in the same run as the solo one, but in Act 1 I have a hard time not killing enemies. In Act 2 I can do a lot of running quests and maybe outlevel enemies. To be honest, I didn't do the math there. It's not like I could solo the endboss below level 12. Part of the idea was to sneak around, steal stuff and disable traps. I suppose I should switch from normal to easy to reduce the number of enemies as well... So far I have made it to Level 3 and have solved the Smith's Shipment with a lot of help from some trolls. But now I can neither afford the Bronze Horn Figurine nor kill the swamplings to solve A Mother's Plea. I suppose I can do a bit of looting in Raedric's Hold, but I need the quest first and so these swamplings are quite important to kill. So my question is: is this idea stupid and I should start killing enemies now? Or should I focus on select enemies (maybe the bear and/or the wolves guarding the stash in Valewood)? What do I need to defeat Maerwald? I guess the figurine and level 3 should be fine... But since I can't defeat 3 swamplings right now, that could be wrong. I play a monk because I can outrun enemies and also think that's a decent choice for the end fight.
  6. Doesn't that stack? Not sure, since the boots stop working all the time... Either way, when I rolled the monk, I had a single item with move speed and didn't know that I'll find plenty in the endgame.
  7. I was stuck at the same part. After doing the god quests the dialogue went until "There is no proof, Watcher. I was a fool...", but I had none, only a feeling. I tried every dialog option and rested a lot (in the tavern in Twin Elms), but to no avail. But when I rested in Caed Nua, a last dream followed and then I could finally convince him.
  8. I think a mechanism to swap talents or relevel would be a good idea. Currently, the game basically asks for rushing to the companions, so you can customize them more. I especially dislike that some of them already have a weapon focus, but other feat and spell choices are also questionable. Another idea would be the option to add them as level 1-characters and you can level them up by yourself. That should be easy enough and still can be optional.
  9. I had the same problem, the last part simply just didn't trigger and I felt like I missed something, even though I had him along all the time. So I decided to travel a bit around and do bounties instead of heading for the endgame. That lead me to the fix, since for some unexplained reason, he got his last dream only in Brighthollow (I didn't try any location, but it didn't work in Twin Elms). I did all of his dialogue options multiple times because of that, so I eventually got tired of him. While I found his back story interesting, it was a bit hard to swallow that I could recruit this guy, who killed a god before, as a low level companion on one of the first crossroads in the game. Also I had to put his important staff and signature robe in the stash simply because they weren't good items (actually he wore Aloth's robe for a long time). On the opposite side, i thought Grieving Mother came a bit late in the game. She could have been a great way to exposition the watcher stuff better. Also it would have been a better fit if she sat outside of the town (driven away, like she tells) instead of being in the middle of Dyrford (what does she do there anyways?). So I basically suggest swapping their locations.
  10. I made a monk as off tank, since Pallegrina couldn't tank everything (not enough engagement) and my rogue PC wasn't getting enough sneak attacks. Race: Pale Elf Attributes (including bonus): 18 Might, 14 Con, 18 Dex, 18 Per, 4 Int, 10 Res Equipment: Heavy Armor (Coat of Ill Payment: Retaliation), Great Sword (Tidefall: Draining, Wounding), Blood Testament Gloves (2% Bonus Raw Damage from wounds) Abilities: Swift Strike, Turning Wheel, Flagellant's Path, Enervating Blows, Long Stride Talents: WF Souldier, Two-Handed Style, Interrupting Blows, Bull's Will, Scion of Flame, Duality of Immortal Presence I didn't focus too much on wounds and so I'm not sure if I played it "properly". Also I didn't focus on interrupting, but what I had still worked quite nice. During combat, I engaged whatever went around Pallegrina, closely followed by the rogue, thus enabling sneak attacks. Since a monk is quite sturdy and I had the draining sword, that worked quite nice. Afterwards I used Flagellant's Path to rush to whatever enemy casters/achers were left. Speed was a big factor for this build and my main reason for playing monk. As Pale Elf, this build also works very nice with a wizard, since friendly fire (and ice) barely hurt it.
  11. I have played Act 1 and 2 two times for that reason, but it seems like animancy can't really be saved. In my first run, I was with the Knights but I denied to give Nedyn the book. Still, after the hearing, some members of the Dozen saved a few animancers because they liked how I made my case. In the second run, I thought I'll make my case even stronger by joining the Dozen, basically trying to infiltrate them. During the hearing, it was a big thing that I did not follow my fraction and instead went for animancy instead. I even recovered the book for Nedyn this time. But during the riots, nobody of the Dozen went to save animancers, which I thought was a bit harsh. Both times, Azo survived, but that did't matter. Likely he was killed during the riots. I can understand that Thaos has the stronger "argument" regarding this, but your influence regarding animancy is really low.
  12. I never have seen the frightened villager as well, but you can get the quest also if you talk to the steward statue in Caed Nua.
