  1. I kind of like that Witcher trailer posted above ... for the visual aspects. It doesn't tell me much about the show itself. Started that Breaking Bad Jessie epilogue Netflix movie last night. Didn't have time to watch the whole thing but the first 15 minutes seemed pretty decent - enough so that I'll have to watch the rest later today.
  2. Thought I'd try FO:NV without any mods at all at first. It's been years. I suppose it looks overall ok. ... but my nostalgia glasses does not remember things like this motorbike (or the outfits, too) being quite this low-res when you get closer, vs. surroundings. lol. It's a really stark contrast at times, is all. Especially on the 43" TV, even in 4k.
  3. I guess FFXV is going to Stadia now. Haha! With exclusive new (small) content to boot. "We don't want to work on the game anymore but if it'll boost sales here's a few more tiny extras to inspire you to try Stadia." Bite me. Although I wouldn't care about those extras much anyway, some kind of mini-game/racing stuff. I'd be curious how the relatively demanding game (if you want it to look its best anyway) performs being streamed like that, but not curious enough. Stadia itself sounds like something most people shouldn't be buying into yet, regardless. Giant beta and with Google's record of dumping/leaving projects that don't meant expectations, I'd worry they'll just abandon it if they don't get their act together/it fails to be as huge as they want in the longer run.
  4. Today I went to GoG and finally got around to buying FO:NV, Grim Dawn/expansions (supposedly saves port over), War for the Overlord Ultimate and anything else I could find that I potentially might care about (not a lot of them), that I originally bought on Steam. Busy downloading it all. I want to get back to where I only have a few games that need Steam, at any one time, and a tiny game list (will request many never-will-play games to be removed from Steam Library). Easy to do when you hardly buy new games anymore. But there are always those several favorites. If only FFXV and Borderlands series would come to GoG, I could get rid of Steam altogether. Yeah, not gonna happen in my lifetime.
  5. Skimmed some short gameplay vids of the new Star Wars Jedi game. Too much action/modern tombraider-like platform-y - eg not really my bag - but that little tiny droid buddy is just TOO ADORABLE for words. Graphics looked ok but whenever the main/chr/you was running it looked comical enough I lol'd. My vision feels like it's getting worse again. I keep switching between old glasses and newer glasses because the latter gives me more eyestrain with bright things (like TV/monitors or contrast-y situations) but clearer vision in dim light or something like driving - but the old ones give me less eyestrain overall but aren't quite as good for dim light/long distance. And ofc, the reading distance still sucks. Pretty soon I'll need 5 pairs of glasses - night pair, computing pair, daylight pair, admire mountains pair, reading, It's becoming (one) reason I game less and less, frankly. Desk distance, couch distance, doesn't matter, eyestrain city after a couple hours. PFFFFFFFFT.
  6. Hm. Like others have already said this doesn't look like my type of thing (looks a bit too geared to younger crowds+I'm burned out on survival aspects anyway) but at the same time, I'm glad they're working and have something to do, so to speak. Branching out and trying new directions to have more broad appeal isn't always a bad thing imo. As long as they occasionally still put out a game I would maybe be interested in, it's all good/I'll buy those. No one has to make my "type" of game, all the time.
  7. Right this second I'm watching Star Trek (OS) episode "Shore Leave" - because I find it hilarious, even with the horrible music that plays every time Kirk meets up with that woman from his past. And after that one I'm going to rewatch "Spock's Brain," because it's also hilarious, albeit in a more unintended fashion. Haven't watched any of the OS episodes in ages and it's campy fun to see a bit of the old crew again.
  8. Oh, well, I managed to get rid of the visible shelfs. I guess you can just delete them using drop down menus (doesn't delete the categories, if you try to "add shelf" again they're still there to choose from). Doesn't resolve the fact it's wasted empty space (can't make it any smaller/just show the list or something).
  9. I just had Steam update and noticed the new UI. Why is every company obsessed with the giant picture-cover icon system now? It annoyed me when Netflix did it, GoG did it, every freaking sales company does it ... I always had Steam on the text game List-only view in small mode (or if larger, at least with the window shrunk as much as possible), Never cared about game news or Community windows or whatnot (since I'm Offline mode most of the time anyway) - if I wanted such I'd use an actual browser. Now, while the List is there on the side, I'm forced to stare at giant icons which are redundant since the text list is on the side anyway. They should at least give the option to hide the entire shelf window. (nvm, they sorta did, see below). To me it's an eyesore. You can put it in "small" mode but that only shrinks the icons a little bit, you can't actually have a small window anymore. I guess I will be "hiding" a lot more uninstalled titles. I just don't like visual "shelf" displays vs. text lists. It's one thing on a phone I suppose but this is a PC. I really hate it on Netflix because they actually keep changing what the picture icon is for a specific show, just to confuse you. As my husband likes to grumble whenever this sort of software/design updates happen that we hate - "kids these days."
  10. Why I like playing stupid tablet games: they don't require expensive pc boxes that suddenly make intermittent low pitched humming noises that you have to troubleshoot. Or any other kind of (physical) tech troubleshooting. Is it one of the drives? the cd player/rhe case vibrating from something? I know, let's just turn the pc off and ignore it.
  11. Hubby is happily farming loot in endgame BL3 - and you know why he can do that? Because I killed Troy for him (only took me 4 tries this time around, I had lots of practice) when he couldn't get past him. I'm a good wife like that. .....or something. Whatever. Where's my chocolate bar.
  12. BL3 - Normal/Mayhem 3 is largely cake and pie, with Legendaries falling left and right. Tried to get another class through the story and grew bored 1/4 of the way through. Thought about putting my lvl50 Flak through TVHM but have a feeling it won't happen. For me at least, almost zero replayability. And there are still so many small bugs, I notice more and more. Hubby had a grenade that seemed to regenerate grenades with damage/use, but it didn't work at all for me. Chests stay "open" for me for ages/days while hubby's chr. they're closed/farmable every single reload. From what I read this seems a common glitch where some think it's normal for chests to have a timer and others saying their chrs. never have a timer ... it doesn't matter since gear is so abundant just from drops but whatever. Lots of little stuff like that. If there's a BL4, I think I won't be buying it until it's $15.
  13. Diablo4? *watches videos* ... well, it looks like more D3, except maybe less "cartoon" palettes in some sections (good), enhanced dungeon designs (could be good), and you can ride a horse (snore). Only based on the trailers, ofc. If it's online only in the sense that it's just must-be-connected to 'net to play (last I knew D3 was like this already) or like the old Closed Bnet where you could play solo online games that doesn't bother me - if it's can't play by yourself at all that's a hard no. I also might pass it simply for the reason I don't feel like dealing with Blizzard account again at the moment. If a console version removes/doesn't have online only/Blizz account (like D3/console), than I guess I could try it on the PS4 one day, unless release isn't until and is only for PS5 - then I might pass on it there too. Edit: oops I missed someone's earlier post that console will still have online-only req. So ... hm. I don't know. Maybe when it's on deep sale one day. That all said, I do like it a tad better appearance wise than D3. And they still make good looking trailers, even if I stopped caring about any story/world/chr elements ages ago.
  14. It's more a matter of apparently not wanting the game quite enough to make myself put up with Microsoft software/app/driver installs, blah blah. I don't like tons of stuff on my PC or super cluttered registries. I only got Steam because I wanted FO:NV so badly at the time and even now only have about 100 games purchased on Steam, most of which I barely touched. Didn't care about consoles ever until I really wanted FFXV and thought it wouldn't come to PC at all for years (I was wrong) so I bought one (it's now mostly a paperweight/streaming TV use). It's just my way. :P
  15. I already explained I won't buy it from Windows Store, a page back or so. Edit: And I won't buy it on Epic either, until they stop with the exclude-Steam contract nonsense. Not because I think Steam is uber or have great love for Steam (I don't), I just don't like such business tactics.
  16. Sounds like what we were always getting ourselves into back in our late teens/early 20's. eg, sounds like fun. Why are those things always so much fun on hindsight. There are some tracks from the first two games that I like better, but overall BL3 does have a good soundtrack. It fits/enhances the combat pulse quite well most of the time, it's just not one I'd listen to outside of the game, if that makes sense.
  17. Everyone's playing Outer Worlds and I feel out of the loop. Ha. I'm still not sure if I want to buy it for PS4. Not because I think I won't at least like the game ... I'd just rather play it on my souped up PC. But a year ... :P
  18. California is on fire again. The Santa Rosa/Sonoma county one, the really high winds and the direction has the smell of smoke down on the Peninsula being much stronger this time than with the "Tubbs Fire." Go outside for 3 minutes, my clothes/hair smells like I was standing by a huge smokey bonfire. Inside the house is sitnky too. Air has that haze. My allergies are going nuts. Other than that, watching hubby finish up Borderlands 3. He's getting close Troy boss, wonder if he'll get stuck for a bit there like I did, heh.
  19. Finally beat Troy in BL2. Did pretty well on that one run, keeping health up most of the time but then wham-died when he had a sliver of health left and thought I blew it - but then the cutscene started so some DoT must've did him in in the nick of time, phew. Went on to beat the game, cake and pie from there. Agree the last battle felt anti-climatic. The story aspect of the game is just meh and my overall feeling of the game is still only slightly above meh. But now I can farm for loot and get to 50 faster with Mayhem1 mode vs. starting all over in TVHM. Anyway, I had the other 3 classes to Sanctuary but have no desire to beat the game with them (unlike BL1 and 2). Doesn't help I find the skill trees so boring. All those upon Kill and upon damage and .6% increases. It's not that they're not useful/powerful with certain builds but it's just even duller than BL2 in the what-you-get for a skill point, regard. Maybe I've played too many rpg's where you get a new spell every now and then vs. just creeping enhancements to something if that makes sense. Cool. I don't mind some load time but more than 10-15 seconds or so (or if you have to do them fairly frequently + they're very longish - looking at you FFXV/console) and ... after FFXV on PS4 I've lost all patience for that.
  20. I don't have hate for it. Just everything I (still) read says versions on their store are not as flexible in certain ways that would possibly hamper my style. eg, they're treated more as "apps". Also from what I've read, it's much less true than a few years ago but I'm still waiting. I don't like MS software tendencies at all, in general, these days to begin with. I don't even want their office software. *shrug* Edit - I uninstalled/force uninstalled most of the Windows bloat and any app-like services when I installed Win10 but I did leave Store there just in case one day.
  21. Anyone playing Outer Worlds on PS4 (or Pro), and how is the performance on it? I'm so bored (don't care much about PS4-BL3 at the moment, it has so many hotfixes/future patch plans it'll be a "new" game in 6 months anyway...) and I'm tempted to end up double-dipping on TOW. Not sure if I will, but it's tempting when you're sitting around twiddling your thumbs all week. Still, if it feels laggy or has really long load times not sure I have the patience for that this time. Edit: I still refuse to go Epic or Windows store, but PS4 is my "impatient" option...
  22. Well I'm stuck on Troy. I've gotten him down to about 1/4 health a couple times but invariably between input lag and controller drift I miss a timing or two with his main attack and I die. He's a two hits and you're out + you can hardly see anything while in FFYL, plus his attacks kill the little guys to get 2nd winds off most of the time. Cheap. Looks like it's going to be a matter of doing it repeatedly until you get lucky and don't miss any avoidance timings. Only story boss so far that's gotten the better of me. The rest were pretty easy. Pffft. Edit: the funny thing tho, is with money grenades and all the running/jumping around, you can make oodles of money even as you're dying all the time. It's hilarious. I've made 100's of thousands even tho I've died like 20 times. LOL
  23. I like Paul Rudd. Therefore, I tried netflix's "Living With Yourself" because, hey, twice the Paul Rudd! (eight 30ish minute episodes). ...the first couple of episodes were ok, moments of dark (?) humor, satire, middle-age and identity pathos/crisis, and of course, Paul Rudd showing off his skills in a dual role. The show has fairly good reviews but I dunno, I wasn't feeling it all that much. I can see where the reviews are coming from, however. Maybe I was just too sleepy. Or I expected to chuckle a bit more. Not sure.
  24. I'm not all here, yet here I am. *waves*
  25. He's done that with me occasionally with mobs, haven't noticed on bosses. I think he's just a little buggy at times, gets AI-stuck in a way. He's also gotten stuck on objects and thus not fighting. Hubby noticed that if Jabber gets the kill-shot, you get less XP, too - I checked that more closely myself and yup, seems to be true, at least with none of the online hotfixes applied. The thing with Troy still sounds weird. I haven't reached him yet so dunno. I use Flak's Fade as an emergency "cheat" and only crit-fire when it's almost over. I went green tree until I got Jabber's rocket launcher then down the blue tree from there. Not sure which tree I'll go to the bottom with, there's a lot of skills I don't care about at all. Side note: I don't like static-position behemoth sponge bosses in that (I think?) Japanese fashion, where the only challenge is avoiding predictable timed attacks between bouts of attacking a special crit. spot or whatever. I find such boring. I hope there aren't many more of those. Couldn't stand it when Diablo3 did it with Belial either. BL1's Destroyer or that Rakk Hive was stupid enough. I'm assuming Troy will at least be mobile but he'll have to wait because I let hubby play most of the time on weekends.
