  1. I am not familiar with EU lore, but after Kreia told me about this true sith it reminded me strongly of the Shadows, an incredibly powerful race of dedicated to chaos and evolution which also dwelt somewhere at the edge of space.
  2. Not necessarily. I think they are looking for long-term contracts with good programmers, so that this people might also work on future titles which are cross-plattlorm even if this one is a console exclusive.
  3. At least if you are willing to invest into a next-generation console
  4. These are really incredible news and I'd like to thank everyone who takes the time to work on this project. The game may be finished after all. Did you try to contact the designers so that they might povide you with further informations about the cut content 'unofficially' ? Hm, even if they did you wouldn't be able to answer " How about the missing droid planet ? Is there enough material to attempt a restoration ?
  5. Nay, a joke is only funny once and not when repeated every day
  6. I might be imagining things, but I sense in Feargus' posts that he is also slightly impatient with LucasArts and how they handle this whole situation. If we are really unlucky, LucasArts won't be bothered with releasing the patch until after Episode 3 hits the cinemas and all their crappy E3 games are released.
  7. It soundes definitely better than the original and makes one really angry at LucasArts for releasing it in such crappy format.
  8. Fixed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed "
  9. Huh ? The game felt rushed after Ravel, but contrary to KotOR II they managed to connect all the dots at the end despite having to endure countless dungeon crawls to get there.
  10. They never tell you about his crime for the same reason they do not tell you his name. In the moment of revelation he wouldn't be TNO anymore but Brianna for instance. It would totally destroy the mystery that surrounds the character in replays. Imagine Stanley Kubrick had given a detailed explanation about the ending of 2001.
  11. I don't like it that Hades calls me a fanboy just because I enjoyed a well-made action-adventure game with some RPG elements mixed in. Calling someone fanboy somehow always implies that the person is blindly devoted to a thing and is not able to critize it properly. Dear Mr. Hades, I am very well aware why I and many others liked the game. You don't like action-adventures. That's fine and you are entitled to your opinion but I bet you don't pester the Beyond Good and Evil people just because you happen to not like a genre. I do not like RTS games but that's no reason for me telling everybody to avoid RTS games because they are garbage. Plus, you are behaving out of line because a demo is free and its very purpose is to allow potential customers to decide whether they like a game or not.
  12. It's difficult to judge for me how game development works but I'd like to see desigers focus on the end part of a game at the beginning of development and make adjustments later on if necessary because I don't think that they start without a finished plot (or outline at least).
  13. As far as I know in some of the cut stuff from Malachor 5 if you played a female Exile. He was hacked to pieces by Darth Sion.
  14. Either that or it was intended for some alternative ending, because otherwise the thought would be depressing that they used the time to make a new cinematic (Ebon Hawk escaping Malachor 5) instead of finishing the original endings. Perhaps the animators were out of work while the designers had to struggle to finish as much as possible...
  15. Like many things in KotOR 2 this concept sounds good but the execution lacks a lot of polishing. As most of the games' problems this one is surely another victim of LucasArts imposed development schedule. All NPCs should basically have two sets of behaviours, one for good and one for evil, which means double amount of design for each character and we know that Obsidian didn't even manage to put a acceptable ending into the release version. Nevertheless, the idea is very interesting and if done right could help to make NPCs more realistic and not only cannon fodder. I wish they would even refuse to fight if it goes against their current alignment (or even attack you to protect innocents for instance). Let's hope that they expand the system for NwN2.
  16. Too bad, I hoped to find Mission's head on a pike but alas, I guess designers can't make everybody happy.
  17. Ah, it's refreshing that Lucas' shameless revisionism(aka lies) slowly creep into the public mind. Considering that Vader wasn't even intended to be Luke's father until the very end of shooting for Empire strikes back I find it hard to believe that it really is a reference to father. I am pretty sure that I read from the man himself that Vader was short for invader which fits his role in the first movie very well. Here's a link to some earlier drafts of the Original Trilogy: Link Especially interesting is the last part of the Vader/Luke duel at the end of ESB. No mention of Vader being Lukes father, and this was the SHOOTING script. Don't forget, Lucas is the same man who claims that Star Wars was ALWAYS meant to be a 9/12/6 part saga and who could not use a young actor at the end of Return of the Jedi because technology surely didn't allow him
  18. One problem I always perceived is that they always mix up causality. In Empire strikes back Yoda clearly states life creates the force, and not the other way round. So there is no hope in ever destroying the force if you are not willing to eliminate all life in the universe.
  19. MCA wrote in some topic which was deleted for some unknown reasons that the patch would fix solely technical issues. Later he wrote that they asked LucasArts for some kind of content patch, which is why the thread was deleted later on: He practically admitted that the game was rushed. I wouldn't hold my breath that we will ever get the cut content, but hope dies last and in some shadowy corner of my mind a hope lingers that this massive delay is caused by the fact that LucasArts allowed them to include the missing ending at least and it takes additional time to test it. I fear though that LA gave them only funds for one patch and OE is trying to squeeze as many fixes as possible into this patch, without any option for further conent patches.
  20. I think Volourn means the setting. I hope Volourn means the setting.
  21. The expansion pack really improves the overall gameplay. New quests and dialogues are introduced and many old ones are expanded. I suspect that some people are disappointed by Gothic because they expect an RPG, which it clearly is not. It is a well-made action-adventure game with beatiful graphics and an unoriginal yet decent story and the most immersive world since Ultima VII. In my opinion Piranha Bytes employes some of the best worldbuilders worldwide. I have never seen such attention to detail when it comes to graphics. Gothic II (along with Wow although I have not played it myself) is the best proof that you don't need the latest CGI gadgets to make breathtaking graphics. Actually, I am somewhat worried about Gothic III. I read the JoWooD, the publisher, intends to rush the game for Christmas to make their shareholders happy. This would be highly unfortunate, since Gothic II was already buggy and incomplete upon release, and I deem it only complete with the expansion pack. I am really sorry for all the non-german owners who miss all the new content.
  22. I think Interplay lost the distribution rights to PS:T after their breakup with WotC. That's why there are no newer prints and Interplay gave up the webpage. Technically someone, I guess Interplay, still owns PS:T, so pirating it would be illegal, but since the game has been out of print for years you won't hurt the owner's profits by getting it from the internet. Since I bought the game shortly after it was published the problem does not affect me at all, but I would have no qualms downloading it. I'm not sure if the game would profit from any rereleases. It has been on the market for years and I guess that everybody who wants it owns it by now.
  23. Good to hear that Obsidian decieded to stay in touch with the community.
  24. Hi everybody ! Before the KotOR 2 patch arrives I'd like to know how I can get HK-47 functional without missing too much planets without him, since I planned to play an evil character this time. So, if anybody can give me recommendations how I can reconstruct him fastest you are very welcome to to do so.
