Ah, i have no rogue in the party yet. That does seem it would make it better. So you are saying that the blind duration is shorter than is listed in the description?

I am using: 1st lv -Eyestrike, Tenuous Grasp, Whisper of treason, 2nd lv - Mind Blades, Phantom Foes and Mental Binding. So far i really like tenuous grasp, it confuses opponents quite regularly and causes them to fight for me for a short time. it seems to cast quickly also. I would avoid Whisper of treason if i could do it again but i really don't see a whole lot at first level i would replace it with. Perhaps one of the damaging powers? mind wave maybe? i would be worried about that hitting my own allies though. Is Antipathetic field any good? Mind blades is awesome, Phantom foes is a really big area of effect, but flanked doesn't seem to be that great of an affliction. As others have said, Mental binding is awesome.

Memorials problem.
Qbert replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
i think this outrage is ridiculous, and any time the devs. spend on this rather than on squashing bugs is the worst part of the whole thing. Well other than reading some annoying internet outrage, but at least i can go back and play my game and ignore the forums till this blows over. Bugs can be harder to ignore and may force me to read more of this. That offends me. -
yes i don't see anywhere in the key redemption process where it allows you to select mac or linux for gog. i don't want to press the "place your order now" button on gog until i know for sure i will be able to choose the propoer os version of the game. i sent a ticket into support about this. Glad to see someone else with this problem i thought perhaps i missed something in my excitement to redeem the key. my version is hero edition btw.

Thanks for doing these guys. Shevek watched the video, well done. Please explain more what you are doing though. I don't have the beta so i really had no clue what skills or abilities you were using, what they do and why you were using it. I think I would like to see even more basic things, showcasing each character explaining their skills and then taking those skills into battle and showing what they can do. If you guys are able to do a few more videos it may tide me over until they release the manual.

Will party formation matter?
Qbert replied to Halsy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
It's not really BG3, more of a bg1.5. it takes place between bg1 and 2. Trent Oster of beamdog worked for bioware and on the original bg and nwn. Apparently much of the trouble with the ee games was due to shoddy programming in the originals. If this is true, making a new game from scratch should improve things. -
Update 91: Closing in on March 26th!
Qbert replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Cool, glad to know that we'll get our keys before release day. Can you tell us if backers will get keys appropriate to their pledge tiers? We are giving people Steam editions that we have matched to their tiers. On Monday I will make a post showing the different mappings. Also, everyone will be able to download their rewards from our backer portal, as well. Hey Badler, Monday is over its Tuesday now and I can not find your post showing the different mappings. And I am still not able to download my rewards from the backer portal. How long does it take until we see your new post that should be on Monday already? ) Sorry about that. I completely forgot to post it. I will post it when I get to work today because I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me. Did i miss this announcement or has this still not been done? -
Area looting confirmed
Qbert replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
If you EE players like it, I will probably be fine with it. How big is the radius? I guess we do not know this yet. I will say the EE area loot feature is toggleable and has a much greater radius than 3m. Also i don't have the bb so i can't actually say whether i like the implementation here. -
[480] Mac - Game Crashes When Loading Area
Qbert replied to sirminscalot's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
it looks like you are using yosemite. This may be related to that bug that was reported with previous beta versions. Can someone try with an alternate OS version to confirm. I am crossing my fingers that the mac version (non-yosemite) will run at release. -
Area looting confirmed

I like this feature in the EE's and assuming it is implemented well here, i applaud the decision. -
Angry Joe LOVED Pillars Of Eternity

Actually i'm almost starting to think that there is some budding love/hate romance blooming between the romance crew (TRC) and stun on this forum. I mean pouring so much time and effort across multiple threads, whether that was the original topic or not, to passionately debate this issue...that must speak of a certain depth of feeling and mutual attraction. Ironic. -
Countdown to Eternity!
Qbert replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Like several other posters have said, i would like access to the manual before release date. Even if you withhold parts of it for spoiler reasons, getting some advance info. about how the game works specifically related to character building would be nice. Post it up in the forum somewhere and even if minor edits need to be made just post a new version there every so often. that would be really nice. We've had some info through the beta process but with bugs and changing attributes/talents etc. it's hard to know what will still be in the game at real ease. -
I don't know of any cultural attitudes that are genetically hardwired. This gives a vastly higher probability to my "speculation", as you call it, being right. What about it makes you think it is a purely cultural attitude? People and animals seem hard wired to be attracted to things that are like themselves, and wary of things that are unknown or different. This always seemed to me to be the root cause of racism, and it certainly seems to be genetic. Everyone has a natural genetic predisposition towards racism, and the more exposure to different looking people one obtains, the less this schema dominates one's thinking. Cultural messages also play a part, of course.

I like to use the thief controlled script in the EE version of the BG's. I'm not sure if it was there in the originals. It automatically searches for traps when not instructed to do anything else. It saves time clicking the search for traps button when scouting ahead with the thief. I find it breaks sometimes and stops working for some reason though.
