  1. In case @ShadySandsever wins the lottery and is wondering what to do with all that money:
  2. Survey shows average gamer is a full-time professional father of three so if you ever feel guilty about wasting time playing video games don’t.
  3. I completely agree with you. Full employment is far better than any kind of hand out. The worrying thing is what happens when there’s not enough work to employ all the willing and able workers? No one will pay someone to do nothing. Well on second thought that’s not true the government does that all the time LOL!
  4. Just printing money willy-nilly is the financial equivalent of pulling the pin and swallowing the hand grenade
  5. LOL you went in the complete opposite direction that I would have there! I was pointing out how that is an example of how UB I might not work rather than escalating cost being a problem to be solved
  6. Here is what concerns me. The market tends to adjust itself to what people are able to pay. Meaning if everybody is suddenly given $500 of public money to help them pay their rent a lot of them will see the rent rise by $500. The landlord figuring well they were already able to come up with it when it was $500 lower....
  7. We are going to have to consider an economic shift of one kind or another. Our system relies on consumption to run. Without it the economy does not work. We are approaching the time when there will not be enough employment for willing workers to keep that going. Heck we might be there already. UBI is a possible solution but I’m not real sure if it can work
  8. Statler the 33 year old fruit bat takes the internet by storm
  9. I think it’s fair to say I’m not a communist because I do understand dialectical materialism. Humans are not inanimate objects on the conveyer belt to inevitable progress. economic behavior is human behavior and humans must act in their best interest as only they can understand what those are. They must be free to pursue what they want even if that’s not what’s best for them in the eyes of some folks. Economics is a poor lens through which to view a society. Not a great tool for shaping one either. Economies should be organic not directed
  10. Sure. And all you have to do is take it from the people who own it. At gunpoint I’m guessing.
  11. LOL! Who wants to volunteer for the job of cleaning those things out?
  12. When you beat the government not once but twice it is kind of foolish to continue baiting the bear. But in this case he’s not actually doing anything wrong so much as making an ass of himself.
  13. US military struggles to answer how many extremists in its ranks well it looks like the United States military is about to get a friendly visit from the thought police. That’s one of the many things I just cannot stomach about the goddamn left. It’s not enough to win elections they have to make sure everybody is thinking “correctly” as they define it. And even in this article they flat out say they don’t know what “correct” will be. The military is a slice of the population. You will find every political and ideological stripe in it in near equal proportions as the population at large. The only thing that sucks for them as they are a captive audience. A lab rat to the government operatives who, if so inclined, can f—k with them without mercy or opposition.
  14. Ammon Bundy, veteran of armed standoffs, builds militia network on COVID backlash Get a load of this one. They’ve even got an app where you can call the militia to come and help. I need that. I need to do some tree trimming I wonder if they will help with that if I tell them the government doesn’t want me to do it!
  15. They won’t get enough votes to convict. It’s just unfortunate that this small and contemptible little man is still sucking up so much of the national air time and attention. past time we turn our backs on and just forget the son of a bitch
  16. Doesn't this just f----g figure? Bitcoin Tops $48,000 for the First Time Oh well...
  17. I just heard a good one. "Apparently 50% of homeowning is hearing strange noises and hoping they are made by ghosts because I can't afford to fix them"
  18. The US government budget is public information. Anyone can see it. If you are an American and it doesn’t piss you off I don’t know what will.
  19. She’s right about one thing. Congress is making way too much money. She’s right about something else to one of the reasons social programs are such an expensive boondoggle is there administered by people who have absolutely no idea what they’re doing, no understanding of the impact of their breakdowns, or even that there are breakdowns. Speaking from personal experience actual knowledge of science, economics, sociology, or any practical relevant and applicable, real world knowledge is not required for government service. Add to tell you the truth it’s not all that common. And that’s why governments in every level burn money faster than a pyromaniac with a flamethrower with little to show for it but ashes. And it will never, ever, ever be fixed. These problems will go on forever. Because no one is going to be down for what’s required to fix it. Starting with giving up those $40,000 furniture allowances. But even that much won’t happen which is why these conversations are head over and over and over for generations following generations.
  20. Nuts to that. People will starve to death waiting for the collective to take care of them. A persons welfare and that of their family is their primary responsibility. You have to look out for yourself. Because nobody else is going to. That does not mean you’re not part of a community and don’t have a duty to help in one way or another. But I’ll pulling out in the 1930s a hell of a lot of people starved to death in a country where food production was a collective enterprise
  21. Everyone who laughed at the crazy redneck preppers won’t be laughing soon
  22. Well.... that didn’t take long H.R. 127 Not that this has a realistic shot of getting out of committee, and even less of going all the way allow me to state for the record f—k your licenses. Molon Labe

  24. The only mational industries we have are the post office and the military, And the various agencies that report to the DOJ in the department of the interior. It’s not a very big workforce. State industries are even fewer. Once again mainly police, parks, social services and the like. Not very big workforce is. In fact my state just downsized theirs. One of the reasons why I’m drinking a beer at 7o’clock in the morning. Hell even the TVA is a private entity now. The government “owns” it but they don’t run it. Most work for the state and federal government projects are contracted out to private companies. The majority of people doing work for a government actually belong to a business with a contract. What you’re suggesting was done before in the 1930s. But it’s not happening now and it would take a lot of ramp up and money that nobody has to do it today
