  1. Heh, I was joking Meta. I thought the Oakland Radiers bit gave it away.
  2. If you have Photoshop you can view them as thumbnails and see which ones you are deleting.
  3. I've got to tell you, die hard Trekkies scare me. The real die hard ones, that have the uniforms and actually wear them. The ones that actually learned to speak klingon. The ones who are constantly talking about the shows as though they were real. They are right up there with Star Wars fanatics, Oakland Raiders fans, and religous zealots. I'm always worried they are just a little too close to strapping on a bomb or something. Just kidding guys!
  4. If religon and politics don't mix you had better believe Star Trek and politics don't mix. Or at least shouldn't.
  5. http://politicalhumor.about.com/ Shields up Mr. Chekov! Klingons in the White House, Trekkies in the Congress. God help us. What is the hand basket we're in and where are we going?
  6. Cuba will not change until Raul is gone too. Maybe not even then. As a rule, governments only change at gunpoint. But when Fidel dies there will be a party like the world has never seen in Miami. He has destroyed many families down here and his reign in Cuba could be called nothing if not brutal. Sometimes, just outliving a S.O.B like that is cause for celebration.
  7. NFL Any College Sport MLB (Especially the Marlins) NHL (Especially the Panthers) You would think my house is a sports bar. All I do is drink beer and watch sports when I'm not working, playing with my dogs, or using the computer.
  8. Be careful Canada. If you piss us off we'll take away another one of your hockey teams. How about the New Orleans Maple Leafs?
  9. None for me. I'll play the cards I'm dealt.
  10. Phoenixus has put in a TON of work on this. Since the toolset was released he has done little else. I think you will all be impressed.
  11. If there are no dogs in heaven I do not want to go. When I die, send me wherever they went _Roy Rogers
  12. Don't stop on my account. This project looks great and I'd love to hear whatever you have to say. Besides, the title just says "NWN2 Modding project" that is what you are doing.
  13. Grr,I need a spell checker! You are correct.
  14. Olivid wrote that. I saw it in Rome:TW
  15. "These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of men and women." -Samuel Adams
  16. There are 2nd ed source books, 3rd ed books, 3.5 ed books, novels (if you can call them that) game modules, story articles, and of course the FR games themselves. All of it canon, most of it contradictory. Keeping up with all this crap is like trying to spray paint your name on the side of a moving bus.
  17. Alanschu Adm Chester Nimitz, and Gen. George Marshall, great minds that think alike!
  18. Sand, you seem like a pretty reasonable guy most of the time but you are wrong on this. Whatever you think of Bush(I voted for him in 2000 but voted Libertarian in 2004) he is obligated to act on the information he has. The CIA, MI6, the Mossad, the KGB, the FFI, and a number of other groups all agreed Saddam was attempting to build nuclear weapons. Heck even Saddam thought he was. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that if he had them he would have hit Tel Aviv, of had one smuggled into the US. Or used it as a deterrant to the US while he re-invaded Kuwait or Saudi Arabia. There are hundreds of scenarios each worse than the last. Bush acted on the best info they had. If it was incompetance there is plenty of blame to spread aroun all over the world. I doubt it was deliberate, the US does not lack for enemies if he was just looking for a fight. As for our troops dying meaningless deaths you could not be more wrong. Pull out a map and imagine for a moment that Iraq is secure. The US will have forces in Iraq and Afgahnistan. Uzbekistan and Pakistan are with us. Where does that leave Iran? Surrounded. Think of it like a game of chess. Sometimes you need to take a square not because it is important now but because it will be important later. Two thousand marines died within the first two hours of the landing at Tarawa. But the allies needed the airfields to support the retaking of the Phillipenes and begin clearing the bases that protected Japan. Did those men die a meaningless death because the war was not won after Tarawa? No.
  19. Taks, the only war I would define as illegal is a forgien conflict lasting longer than 100 days that was not authorized by congress. It has never happened and I do not think it ever will.
  20. The issue isn't that he doesn't want to fight, in fact he seemed quite happy to fight when he thought the war just. The issue is that he believes the war to be illegal. If you thought your boss was involved in illegal activities that could damage the company and it's employees, would you do nothing with the reasoning that you take your paycheck so it doesn't matter whether you think it's illegal or not? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry Kitty, it does not work that way in the military. The day he swore his oath and put on his uniform he gave up the right to make moral distinctions. He swore to uphold and defend the constitution of the US and bear true faith and service to the same. He also swore to obey the orders of the President and his superior officers. The war, you can argue might be morally wrong but it is authorized by congress so it is nothing if not legal. therfore he is compelled to go if ordered to do so. It has long been held and upheld that a member of the US armed forces cannot be ordered to do something that violates the UCMJ (military law). So if his CO orders him to shoot an unarmed prisoner and he refuses then he is morally and legally correct and will not, in the long run, suffer any legal consequences. But in this case the order to go to Iraq is legal and he can obey or go to prison.
  21. If you don't want to fight, don't join the military. That is it's sole purpose. And you do have to chose to join, there is no draft and no one is compelled to do so. Whatever the people here might think of the war, whatever HE thinks of the war does not make a bit of difference. He agreed to take the governments money and wear it's uniform so that means he gets the whole package and if that means fighting, so be it. He can have a year in Iraq or six years in Levanworth. That is also a choice. As for Sturm's little quip about the Russians, if this guy had been in the Soviet Army and refused to go to Afghanistan he would have gotten a bullet in the head and no newspaper or anyone else would have ever heard about it. So there is a difference.
  22. Another thing we batted around was keeping a data base of companions and NPC. This might make it easier to reuse NPCs when revisiting a setting. I for one would love to see a mode set say in 1371 in Silverymoon then play a different mod in the same setting a year later in game time with a different charachter but have some of the same NPCs. Especially since they would reflect character devlopment from the first mod and made refrences to those events in conversations.
  23. I got you. Each builder is doing their own project and working alone as far as I know. At least I am. I know Phoenixus and Niah are as well. This project will never be finished because it's only goal is to make sure all the modules the team members build mesh with each other. For instance there are five modules set in the Silver Marches in process now. In mine, I will kill off a minor figure from FR canon. She will be dead in the other four as well so long as they occur later than mine in FR time. I do have an idea for a collaborative campaign taking a PC from level 1 to 20 with a continous plot thread over a half dozen or so modules. But for the moment we all want to get at least one mod under our belts with the new toolset. Plus hopefully we will get an expansion sometime next year. This game could use some new tiles types and VERY much needs to expand it's monster manual.
