I went to work, after went to the VFW for a few beers, then came home. When did my life turn into a Clint Black song?

You should join this club!

My post game advice is "don't screw it up by over thinking it". If she brushes you back, just take it in stride. If she wants to see you again, go for it.

At that point futile gestures are all that is left to anyone who desires only to live in freedom. But as far as the ammo goes, I do my own reloading/pressing. I have enough brass, projectiles, and propellant to make that much but it is not all put together right now. You would be shocked how cheap it is though. If you buy in bulk and make use of surplus auctions. For example a box of fifty 240 grain, copper jacketed .44 magnum hollowpoints costs around $40 retail. I can load around 150-175 on my own for that much. But firearms are not the only defenses that can be employed in an emergency. For example you would be absolutely amazed at what you can make using nothing more than a few empty peanut butter jars, a box of nails, some saran wrap, a 9V battery, and a few common household chemicals mixed in the proper proportions. Isn't a military education a beautiful thing?

Those of you who have asked me why I own so many guns (eight in all) and so much ammunition (over 4000 rounds of .308, .44 Magnum, and 12 GA shotgun shells) just read the last two posts. If people like Pope and Malcador ever actually get the political power to do what they think needs to be done, I suggest they send well armed and unmarried men with no families to think of when they come for me. I will not go without one hell of a fight. Heck I've been preparing for that for years anyway. And prople like them have gotten politcal power in the past, I'm sure they will again.

Gotcha. So, let me see here... you are not a fundamentalist, in fact you are the opposite of that. So what you are really advocating here is solving the excess population problem by killing off people whose social/politcal opinions you disagree with. Does that about sum it up? It's ok, you can admit it. You are hardly the first to come up with that plan. It was pretty big in Europe in the 1930s and 40s too. In fact there are a few groups in the world today, most are around the middle east area.

So, lets see here. The Bucs spent some forty million bringing in Micheal Clayton and Derrick Ward as free agents and signing them to long term contracts. Last year they were the most productive RB & WR on the squad. This preseason they have cut both of them (which means they got no value for losing them and STILL HAVE TO PAY THEM!!!!) and have nothing to show for them but less salary cap space. Jesus F***ING Christ Domanik! What the bloody f**k are you doing??? You bring in a 30 year old nobody to be the head coach who, so far, does not seem to have a clue what the hell he is doing. You fire your offensive coordinator TWO F***ING DAYS before the season last year, and replace him with a guy who has been fired three times as a freaking assistant. You create a whole new defensive scheme last yeare that nobody understands and you end up dead LAST in combined defense (which at the very least kept the offense from feeling bad about being next to last) then in mid season change you mind and go back to the Tampa 2. There was just one problem, you got rid of all the personell you needed to ACTUALLY RUN A TAMPA 2 D! Trying to run that defense with two no name safeties is like showing up at your wedding wearing flip flops. So, lets see here, this year you have cut our two best players and insulted some of the others, publicly I might add. That Donald Penn incident is more than enough to know you are an absolute idiot. I think the Glazers should fire Domanick, Morris and the whole bloody lot of the coaches and just start the f**k over! Maybe we can get a troop of drunken baboons to replace them. They certainly could not do worse. Freakin' Bucs!

Ok, it took some doing but I finally choked down The Blade Itself. Overall it was not bad, but it really was not great either. I guess I'm not a big fan of the fantasy genre in general but there are some I really like, this one I could take or leave. My biggest criticisim is the language he used. I find modern day venacular, slang, and profanity a little out of place in sword & sorcery fantasy. Don't get me wrong he has to tell his story but... some phrases just do not fit. I did like the charachters though, particularly Glotka. I'll get to the next one, but just not now. There are three other books in line in front of it.

If something happens to the infrastructure anywhere most population centers are screwed because food production usually takes place far away and in cities, food supply is finite. The folks who stand the best chance of survival are those who have the knowledge and means to be reasonably self sufficient. Japan depends on desalination for a good bit of it's water so as long as those plants are maintained they would be fine. It only makes sense of everyone to lay up a two week store of food and essentials for emergencies. When I lived in Florida and hurricanes came rolling in 3-4 times a year it was just understood that everyone did this. But now I own a good size piece of land that has a small river on one border so I could actually grow/hunt/gather food and fuels if the need ever arose.

Here is me at a Preds game last year

I nominate this as "Comment of the Year"! I laughed so hard I had beer shooting out of my nose....
-
So, what groups of people do you think we should be killing off then Pope?
-
The season begins this Thursday, any interest in making picks this year? Someone else has to tally though, I've been real busy between work and writing and that just figures to get worse later this year.

Bah, rubbers ruin the whole thing. But they are necassary somtimes. Anyway, good for you Sluggo.

Now reading Bullpen Gospels by Dirk Hayhurst. Volo, LadyCrimson and everyone else who like baseball or sports books, you must give this one a look. It is perfect, insightful, self depricating, funny and inspiring at the same time, Great book. You will be laughing out lound in the first three pages.

Just got home... dead tired. It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milkbone underwear. Soon the charcoal will be heating in the grill and I'll have an ice cold beer in my hand, followed by many others. Life is good.
-
Now that is a perfect day.

Don't go to sleep as soon as you get home. You need to treat your mornings like you used to treat your evenings. One of my favorite parts of working nights was the looks you get buying a case of beer at 8 am on a weekday morning. Also, not having to deal with traffic is nice too!

Is this post meant to be some sort of insinuation that Muslims are terrorists? What? Muslims are terroists? Oh my Krezack what a dreadful generalization that is! You should be ashamed of yourself. Why I remember reading on my computer and seeing on TV just today that muslims are peace loving folks who just love everyone and just want to get along with everyone. I mean, the two gentlemen in this article were just having a little fun right? They never meant to harm anyone. Right? I mean, if a few muslims were to so something... oh, I don't know, bad in the name of islam, I'm sure all the happy peace loving ones would come out and say what they did was wrong right? Err, are you drunk or serious? Just sarcasm, but I have had a few drinks. Ok, maybe more than a few.

A huge investment followed by lots of work with the prosepcts of miniscule and mostly intangible payoffs spread over years? He'll say "Sure where do I sign up"?

I sold the Jukebox! About two hours after I listed it I got a call about it. They just left with it. I bought it for $200, out about $500 in it not counting my time and sold it for $1800 (I was asking $2200). Not too shabby! Oh, and LadyCrimson my dear, how do you like Dan Johnson now? That is the second time he's burned your boys. It all comes down to tonight.

Spent the day applying finish to an old 1960s style Rockola Jukebox i've been restoring. I've found a few 45s (for those under 30 those are vinyl records that have one or maybe two songs recorded on them) to out in there, mostly old country songs from the 70s. Once the finish dries it goes up on craigslist.
