  1. It's because they tried to please everybody that they're in this mess. Simultaneous release date.
  2. Yes, LA's release date has all along been "Winter 2004" with an overall deadline of February (so I was told at E3). However, rumours have been flying thick and fast over the internet for the last few weeks about a possible December release.
  3. Going with traditional blue, even though I'm planning to play a Consular.
  4. We can debate the bad parts of individual characters in a different thread. Let's stick to the topic at hand.
  5. Then I guess I'm a wuss, too. I am eagerly waiting to see what happens to those characters, can't wait.
  6. Hesitantly comes forward. Go Falcons! *runs away again*
  7. Locking thread as there is already one discussing the disparity in release dates.
  8. I was online with some online RPG friends, some of whom live in Washington DC. One of them said something had happened in New York as per his CNN feed. As I was the only one at home and had access to the television, I turned it on. I'll never forget it. I saw the second plane hit the second World Trade Center when it happened, live. I was in shock. I remember my legs stopped supporting me and I just crumpled to the floor, unable to take my eyes off the television. I remember thinking that it wasn't happening, it wasn't real, it was like the old War of the Worlds radio broadcast...initial stupid denial reaction. My computer started going mad as my friends started pinging me and I came back to myself, wobbled to the computer, and tried to explain what was going on. I became the unofficial news center for everyone at work. When the Pentagon went, I nearly went into hysterics. It was all so surreal, I couldn't believe it, but I did believe it, and it was horrible beyond my wildest imaginations. I was in Berlin during the LaBelle Disco bombing. I was at Ramstein at the Flugtag disaster. I thought I had seen carnage and destruction. I was wrong. And it was all transmitted across a television screen. I tried to imagine what it was like there and in person, and my mind simply shut down on that score and refused to cooperate. Later, while I couldn't do anything directly to help, I did what I could, giving blood and supplies and donations. Friends of mine, however, who are in the safety equipment manufacture industry, had to go up to New York to help, several days after the attack. When there was no hope left of survivors. They were to dig through the rubble, showing the firefighters how to use their equipment. The told me what they saw, what they went through. I will never, ever forget it. To this day I still get shaken up whenever I hear the words, "Let's Roll." And part of me doesn't want me not to.
  9. I couldn't even tell you what's been deleted, as it's been rather something of a deletion frenzy concerning this thread, trying to keep it on track. Overall, the level of civility has been quite good. It was a thread to vent, and not many have abused it.
  10. Locking the thread as it has devolved into a shouting match with the same things being said over and over again.
  11. The PC and international versions are not ready yet, and won't be ready until Feb. The USXbox version is ready, as Obsidian got the code for it months before they got the code for PC and Int'lX.
  12. LA. And just so you know, further discussion of pirating, whether academic or not, will result in the thread being locked. Don't have much control over that one.
  13. Oh, I know, that was in response to a few other posts which are now gone.
  14. This forum is owned by a gaming corporation. Talking about modchips and piracy here is like talking about counterfeiting on the US Treasury site. Silliness to expect to be able to.
  15. Very well said, Grandpa, but unfortunately, untrue. The US Xbox version has been in development for months longer than either the PC version or the International versions, explained in a post by Akari in the other thread. The K1 pc and international delays caused Obsidian to get the code months later than they were able to get the code for US Xbox. Development on K2 US Xbox began as soon as they got that code. LA has known from the beginning that the US Xbox version was in a far more advanced stage of development, and yet still offered the "simultaneous release" marketing. That, I believe, is what most people have issue with.
  16. Topic Pruned. Okay guys, last straw time. I come into these threads and try to keep them at least somewhat on topic, but when I come here and the threads are more spam than discussion, that tells me it may be time to close them. Whether or not the release date aggravates you, please allow others their own emotions. Of course everyone realizes that there are more important things going on than a video game release date. It's pretty clear in the subject of the thread what this is about. As I said in my first post: IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT PEOPLE'S FRUSTRATION OVER THE RELEASE DATES, GO TO ANOTHER THREAD. Keep the spam down. Cut out the insults. Or this thread will be closed and no more permitted.
  17. In all actuality, I wouldn't expect anything until Monday at the earliest. It's not the KoTOR development and testing team at LA that will respond, but their marketing department, and I'm betting they take weekends off.
  18. The trailer, I'm relatively sure, was made by LA's Marketing division, not Obsidian. I am, however, sure that Obsidian had no knowledge of this debacle that LA just pulled off.
  19. LOL, Master of All, while I won't offer my opinion on the suckiness of it, I will say that sometimes one must play the politics game. Obsidian, as nuoli just said, is not at fault here, and I don't want to get them in trouble for a venting thread.
  20. Okay, due to Obsidian's obvious affiliation with a few companies, I am going to unsticky these threads, and I've already edited the name to something less...tacky.
