I was wondering if this is possible? For instance not making a character dumb and dumping his Int to 3 or not making my tank a rusted bucket that has no flexibility (dump stat dex) or do most of your builds have to be power gamey dump stat builds? Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that I am not criticizing. My current tank has Dex dumped I am just curious.

Gromnir, I cleared the ogre Bounty after 1.6 at level 9 and can confirm that plague of insects is ticking for 10 damage. Like I said I beat the encounter by using Liberating Exhortation and Suppress Affliction. I had solid dps cause I'm level 9...so it was manageable. At your lvl I would of definitely wiped.

Nice build and its very similar to my next Paladin. Currently running a pure tank and its extremely durable like he will grab a big bad boss and literally nullify him in the fight as the boss can rarely gets hits on him mostly grazes and misses while Eder tanks adds and the rest of my party wipes up the adds. But ya I used Dex as my dump state and hes offensively crap so I am thinking of not dumping stats next time...lowest 10 just so I am not so power gamey. Shieldbearer Race: Moon Godlike (I know even more power gamey but its my first play through!) Background: Aedyr +1 Res Base States no gear: Might 17 (Found it good for the Silver Tide and Fort saves doesn't really help with dps as I am using a the Hearth Hatchet most of the time and I have super low Dex) Con10 Dex 4 Per 17 Int 10 Res 18 Abilities at level 10 Faith and Conviction (automatic at lvl 1) Lay on Hands Zealous Endurance Liberating Exhortation Reviving Exhortation Righteous Soul (awesome against fear auras) level 12 ability? Hastening? Renforcing exhortation? Deprive the Unworthy? Talents Weapon and Shield Style Hold the Line (questionable pick but not terrible) Cautious Attack Deep Faith Bears Fortitude (I wanted more Fort saves as it was my lowest) Last talent likely just take Shielding Touch for RP purposes I don't think I need more deflection...Maybe Greater LoH or more Will saves with Bulls Will?

So whats better hah? eat the damage later by suspending it or later? I guess it really doesn't matter. Suspending it did let me ignore the effect through most of the fight and when I did finally run out of those buffs there was 2 ogres left and it was over....Liberating Exhortation and Supress Aff really made the worst of the fight a non factor.

So does it ever end? I was able to counter the Insect Plague because I had a Paladin my PC with Liberating Exhortation and a Durance with Suppress Affliction so we are able to stave it off and dps the ogres before the swarm killed us but man I wish my druids insect plague lasted like that! Is this a bug or intended for the encounter?

I will ask again before I download it cause I am getting kind of impatient for the patch...this is my favorite class and its going to make some good improvements/quality of life changes...how buggy is the patch in its beta state? I am on my first play through ever and just got to Act 3 wouldn't want to ruin my game lol! Is it safe to play it in its Beta state?

So as a Paladin you are either tanking or trying to be bursty with FoD. If you take ZC you are forgoing ZE (tanky) or ZF (DPS) getting the benefit of neither unless you spend 2 levels on auras. So whats a Paladin taking ZC trying to do? Take the Disengagement defense talent as well and barreling to the enemy back lines? Then again he wont have ZF to do better burst damage or he will have to switch! I am at a loss! lol Talent points are at a premium with only 12 levels.

I am not sure about 1.06 but I know in 1.05 Int isn't bad for a tank but doesn't make a HUGE difference in your auras. Also yes if you go Darcozzi your + Acc buff will last longer so its a good choice. If you are playing a Moonlike I think Might is better as your Silver Tide heals for a lot more. If you take Lay on Hands on your tank Int is better it heals for more as the Heal over Time lasts longer. I will say if you take Int your fort might be a bit low ( a bit not crazy low) because you aren't putting any points in Might or Con. That is until you rank up your Faith and Conviction but there are PLENTY of tanks that do it and succeed I just like having a good Fort save early game. You can have high Res and Per and have around a 17 Int score by dumping Dex. I will tell you that it craps on your DPS but if you want a pure defensive tank build that's irrelevant. A lot of people on this forum do not like that type of build as they find it boring so they have more of a balanced build like some 14 and 15s on stats. PS I see on the 1.06 patch notes that ZF and ZE are larger but ZC is smaller. I do know that with a 10 Int your aura will only get the frontline. Probably can be augmented by gear. I have the Boots of Zealous command which at 10 INT makes my Zealous Endurance 3 meters. It helps a bit. With a high Int I am sure it would be better.

Aye thanks Wolken. For whats it worth my super tank on Hard right now is a Paladin. I don't see it not working on POTD either but honestly its too much defense. I will rectify that on my next paladin. With this new patch tanks can even take FoD and it will be useful as the accuracy will be much better.

Yeah, but it's your choice - jump or not. And I think you just need to beat the drake to access the master staircase which is one fight where you can go full nova. Actually, the Drake fight is the one big fight you don't have to do to get the the master staircase on that level. I do agree that jumping down that hole is your choice. But if you make that choice on your first run through of the game and you do it at too low a party level, you can find yourself in a world of hurt. Avoiding the drake fight and getting to the master staircase (which BTW, you may not even know exists, since IIRC, level 5 is the first time you run across an entrance to it) isn't necessarily all that difficult. But if you don't know any better and try to climb back up and out of the dungeon the long way, you'll hit the ogre level next, I think. And that may be as bad or worse than the drake. Dealing with a single ogre isn't impossible for a lower level party. Dealing with a bunch of them with ogre druid support is darned right scary. This was the exact death of my party on my first character. Didn't know the master stair case existed even AFTER taking the drake down at level 4 on hard (not too shabby for my first time playing ever)...So I just got worn out at the Ogre level.

I don't cheat man! but I hear you Agreed. I have played LIMITED D and D as in Neverwinter Nights (The original) when I was a kid (I am 30 now lol I want to pick them up) so you are correct the few times I played it I was like WTF prepared spells? And per rest spells??? hah but I greatly appreciate it now as I think it brings a tactical sense into the game. but as far as RPGs go most of my experience has been, KOTOR, Dragon Age Series, Fallout Series, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft for too long etc
