  1. You both make such good points. Well, we haven't seen the developers move out to other platforms on the PS front. Square-Enix has branched out a bit (talk about making a quick buck with FFXI...) but all it's A titles will be on the PS3 (and so some extent DS).
  2. Actually, it's the fans that make a console a success No matter how good the system is, and no matter how good the games are.... it'll fail if no one buys it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But who would buy a console if it did not have good games?
  3. Well, that happened because Nintendo treated developers like crap... I'm guessing Sony might understand that they are the ones that make the console a success.
  4. I wonder how badly it will hurt them in the end.
  5. There are a lot of things to consider with the PS3. Blue-ray player for one, which from what I've seen is $1000 standard. It's a Playstation, which means it will house the future version of all the previews Playstation hits. It will also be able to play most (I still don't buy the hole 100% backwards compatible talk) PSone and PS2 titles which honestly is a HUGE selling point for me, since I still play PSone games quiet frequently. The multimedia angle is interesting, doesn't really appeal to to myself... but I also remember not caring about the PS2 being able to play DVDs which eventually turned into something I used quiet a lot (and still do... since I'm too cheap to buy a proper DVD player). The better online play looks great. I really hate the way PS2s network adapter works, it just sucks.
  6. When is the last time the best game of a generation, hand-held or otherwise, was not released on a Nintendo system? (popular opinion) Nintendo doesn't have the biggest library, they just tend to have the "best" games. Now one may not like said games, that's your/their opinion, hard to deny Nintendo's track record for their releases tho in terms of a quality product. One can not say the same for PlayStation or the X-box. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course people go nuts for the new Zelda, Mario, Metroids... but that was not the point I was trying to make. I was just simply stating why Nintendo had done so poorly these past console generations.
  7. Yup, I don't agree. When was the last time an RPG as massive as Suikoden was released on Nintendo? When was the last time an game with as much freedom as GTA3 was released on Nintendo? Nintendo console simply do not provide enough fun for everyones taste.
  8. Seems like Eldar hit the root of the problem, good work.
  9. Towards the end, it was really the only thing to look forward to. I enjoyed it. That scene at the end of the game was just stupid.
  10. It doesn't look like they have decided to change anything. Or perhaps they are just saving that footage for another time.
  11. Nailgun is dissapointing to me, I mean you have to nail an enemy's head like 3 times before he dies. You think that one massave pierce to the brain is all you need. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True enough, but it's not too balanced. None of the guns seem to be done too well in that regard though. Really, all you need is the AR, decent aim, and the ability to click. Then you're set. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The best way to improve your aim is to get a laser mouse. That thing can stop on a dime. Boom headshot LOL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very true. My CSS Head-shot ratio has gone up a lot since getting my laser mouse. :D
  12. :'( I won't be buying it until good games come out, which won't be until the end of 07 probably.
  13. I think you are right about this. Not that I agree with pulling the Xbox 360 from Japan, since... People are quiet accepting of Japanese games over here, why can't Japan be accepting of Western games? It will take time I'm sure. Like I pointed out, when was the last time a real western RPG was release over there? Oblvion didn't make it to Japan, right?
  14. You... are hard to keep track of. Weren't you the one that brought up the possiblity that they aren't connected? No, I said they weren't true sequels Like Final Fantasy X -> X-2 Okay. Your right then, it doesn't continue the hole Law VS Chaos thing in the first two. Since you brought up the hole parallel universe thing, I thought you were saying they weren't really connected either. First rule was to unequip all Void/repel/absorb skills. Having anything of the sort (even activating items after the battle started with that effect) would cause the Demi-fiend to use an attack that killed everyone. There was also an item that gave you four or so more press-turns for one turn (you can only carry one of them ) and use that during the first turn... Basicly I did the most damage during my first turn... everything after that I was just nugging him until he died lol... took a long time and a lot of Revival beads.
  15. You... are hard to keep track of. Weren't you the one that brought up the possiblity that they aren't connected? Correct. I guess that would feed into the hole "All worlds are connected" crap. But I suspect he is just there as a cameo since he has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. He is tough... Think Lucifer from Nocturne x10. He has all sorts of random attacks, some that kill are you character instantly... Very challenging battle though, very good test to see how good you are at the hole press-turn system... since he comes a long with his demon army.
  16. Riiight, forgot about that junk. Yeah and I remember the Chaos hero from SMT2. So they are connected now? o.O
  17. Possible. However, that would mean that all the different worlds shared that same Netherworld (Amala)... because thats the only way the Nocturne hero would find himself talking to the followers of Law and Chaos (since the neutral path for SMT was cannon, which means the hero defied both Law and Chaos). But it's possible... Atlus spend so much fricken time fine tunning the story... There were so many version of both SMT I/II. SNES/Sega CD/PC/GBA/PSX... would be surprised it they were sick and tired of it.
  18. Prequel then? I've also heard that theory... EDIT - SMT Nocturne SPOILERS >>> In the Amala network, you hear demons talking about the war that was going on in SMT I and II... So it's hard for me to believe it's not in some way related.
  19. SMT I > SMT 2 > SMT: Nocturne (sequel). Yes, the way everything works is very similar.
  20. :D It's a more... straight forward version of it. There are only two tones you can talk in "Friendly" and "Angry" and from there the range of choices will expand based on the demon's personality (or lack of). You don't talk to them to get cards either, you talk to them to convince them to join your side (or items). Demon fusion is also a way to get more powerful allies. You combine 2 or 3 monsters to get a stronger one (if you've played Nocturne the hole thing should be really easy to master). Like Darque pointed out, it's a dungeon crawler... but a damn cool one. It has a strong cyber-punk theme. You summon demons from your labtop and stuff, it's COOL!
  21. LOL! It features you favorite Demon-talking system!
  22. It could just be one of those thing that takes time. Also might be that they are not getting games that appeal to them... When was the last time a Western RPG (PC or otherwise) got a Japanese release?
