  1. Actually Man U won a new owner with little knowledge of or interest in the game, and a massive debt to pay off. So, well done them! I wish I lived in Liverpool today. It must be some party they're having!
  2. I remember seeing this as a kid at the cinema and crying my eyes out, and the song, 'Bright Eyes', was a big part of it. I have wild bunnies living under my room (having burrowed down from the grassy bit outside), and the babies are outside the window grazing as I write this. Very, very cute!
  3. The one and only time I used the cheat on Korriban to get to an outrageous level (40, I think), when I offered my crystal to Kreia she seemed to upgrade it to its maximum strength all in one go. After she had it, it was shining blindingly or something, and gave very high attribute boosts. So maybe you don't actually need to upgrade it eight times before you reach full power?
  4. Here's my personal favourite - the Rockall Times. It's a bit UK-centric, I'm afraid. http://www.therockalltimes.co.uk/ I love engrish.com, it brings back so many memories of Japan. I owned a set of plates which had 'We are happy vegetables and for your nutritious life' written around the edge, accompanied by pictures of dancing carrots and cucumbers. I wish I'd kept them.
  5. Does this law make using Internet Explorer illegal in itself, since it saves temporary files? Or can you turn that off? Maybe it's just a cover for the government to sue Microsoft for promoting copyright infringement. It reminds me of the law there used to be in the UK, which made it illegal to record a TV programme on your video. Eventually they changed it so that you can record anything but only keep it for 28 days, which still makes most of the country lawbreakers.
  6. It might be possible to get there using cheats, but the consensus is that this is part of the cut endings that were removed before the game was finished, and can't be accessed through normal play. The Sith Lords Restoration Project may make use of it when they restore these endings.
  7. I can't be sure that there isn't a second transponder card, only that I've never encountered it or seen it mentioned here. Before the patch, the Telos fuel quest was definitely bugged, and you couldn't complete it no matter what you did. This might be different now, so
  8. Sorry, didn't mean it to be harsh. But as far as I know, there's been nothing official about Kotor 3. Even the stuff that Draken_Fett reports is only rumour.
  9. And from 3-0 down. I know some people who are going to be insufferable tomorrow.
  10. No. Don't know. Don't know. Don't know. I love to cut and paste quotes, it's just the best fun ever.
  11. You had an exam today? Then you shouldn't have been even attempting to revise this morning! Going for a walk or doing a hobby is much better preparation so close to the exam itself. Sorry, that's useful information, and therefore off-topic. Plus, most people are very poor judges of their own exam performance: if you think you did badly, most likely you did pretty well.
  12. When you say you're using the Savegame Editor, does that mean you're using it to transfer between locations? I don't know, because I've never used it. The Ebon Hawk where the Trandoshan fight takes place is actually a completely different location to the normal Ebon Hawk. The evidence for this is that in the Trandoshan Ebon Hawk there's a lab station in the medical bay, which is not on the normal Ebon Hawk. So maybe you're transferring to the wrong place. Just a thought.
  13. But ultimately quite satisfying. Excellent pictures, again!
  14. I think the feeling of discomfort stays longer with some people than with others. I really appreciate the 'Switch Character' save game feature in Kotor 2 because I can't play a DS character for more than an hour or so without feeling guilty and needed to cleanse myself by doing good. I know how ridiculous this is, but that doesn't make the feeling of guilt go away. I enjoy playing DS characters, but in small doses.
  15. Having generated these with The Sims 2, can you also produce a picture of what an offspring of the two would look like? I'm not actually sure why I want to see this, but it might be interesting.
  16. 80% for that one part of the project, is what I think he said. They also noted that updates might come every one or two months. This suggests to me that completion is likely to be autumn at the earliest, a very realistic timescale. I hope they continue to work slowly and carefully, and aren't pressured by too much "patch now! patch now!" noise.
  17. If you don't know that she's on Tattooine, then you haven't triggered the quest yet. Make sure you've talked to Bastila about everything you can. Then fly back to Dantooine and wander around the area outside the Ebon Hawk. Soon, there should be a woman who comes and talks to you, and tells you to look for Bastila's mother on Tattooine.
  18. It's pretty amazing how little information is coming out. I don't think any developer has posted anything on this forum for a month or so. Do they really have nothing to say? Maybe they've been told not to post here, or perhaps they just don't find anything interesting. They should make a bit more of an effort, I think.
  19. Did you copy and paste the second line, or type it all out again? I haven't seen Christian Bale in anything since Empire of the Sun. It will be strange to see him all grown up, but I'm sure they wouldn't have chosen him if he hadn't been passed by a dozen focus groups, so we'll see. I'm not sure how hopeful I am though - Batman is a rather unrealistic character, so the more realistic (=darker?) they try to make the movie, the less chance there is that I'll like it.
  20. Well, ideally twice the size and four times the people/quests. Is this realistic? Hmmm...
  21. I think this is a little overdramatic. While I'm sure there is a lot of bullying of kids with gay parents, I don't accept that it is inevitable or that school authorities can't do anything about it. If you're in an area where even the school authorities discriminate against gays, and are allowed to get away with it, then there's a problem. But I think that's becoming rarer. I'm sorry, but I don't think a white middle class area is necessarily the most tolerant it's possible to get. I'm sorry that you experienced bullying in this way, though. When I taught in Japan, there was a kid whose parents were - shock horror - DIVORCED! This is still very rare in Japan. The girl in question was bullied, but the school fought hard to stop it and succeeded. If the state bans gays from adopting, then it's reinforcing the anti-gay prejudice of some in wider society. It is not a neutral action, it is a damaging action. It is in the wider interest of the child to grow up in a society which is tolerant. You might argue that for one individual you can prevent a gay couple adopting her, possibly making her life a little easier, but reinforcing prejudice. But then if you repeat this a thousand times, you're sending out a powerful, negative message that gays are not suitable parents. It is wrong for the state to do this. As I write this, I'm reflecting on my own views, and I am worried that the position that I'm arguing is about sacrificing the individual for the benefit of wider society, something I don't really believe in. Ultimately, I don't think it is sacrificing the individual, because I don't accept the nightmare vision of a gay-adopted child that is being presented. Discrimination and intolerance can be actively fought and overcome through concrete society-wide efforts. States and community leaders have a responsibility to do this, and I think there are examples where this has happened. I imagine a child with gay parents in my own community and I just can't see the terrible bullying and ostracism that is being suggested.
  22. I agree and I think this is really important if your game is going to appeal to different kinds of players. I have little interest in combat and no experience of conbat-based games, so I found the combat in Bloodlines fine because it didn't require too much thought. However, if people who like fighting can find interesting ways to do it in the game, that's great. If you were required to get good at combat in order to advance in the game, I doubt I could have finished it and probably wouldn't have tried for long. Different strokes for different folks, maybe?
  23. I've heard that a lot of strategy guides were printed before the game was finished, and a lot of items/quests didn't make the final cut of the game. Perhaps this is true of Malak's lightsaber?
  24. And not a single DS point to be had. When you say awesome, I'm sure you mean terrible and disturbing. Wouldn't it be great if Kotor 3 could recognise whether you fought honorably, and reward you for it? And allowed you to spare your opponents more often!
  25. If you live in a place where gays are discriminated against and not tolerated by society, perhaps being adopted by a gay couple would lead to the child being harmed. But we can't assume that everywhere is like that. This is an argument not for banning adoption by gays, but for allowing it (and also asking adoption officials to consider this factor in judging the suitability of gay couples). But nevertheless, we need to balance the potential for unhappiness caused by bullies, against the very real happiness that comes from having loving parents. And remember that real progress can be made in overcoming intolerance and discrimination if the issue is brought out into the open.
