Fahrenheit. A very interesting thriller/adventure-game.

I see. Some find it more interesting in trying different classes, spells, weapons, traveling/exploring and what not in a game, it gives a sense of immersion in letting the player be exactly what he wants to be, a story is a good afterthought. Others want a good story that drives the game forward, letting the player wonder "what's next? I have to find out!" or "How will story/characters change if i alter my alignment/class?", which also gives a sense of immersion. Combat/gameplay doesn't have to be first priority. That's how it is i guess. It becomes ugly when one camp declares its "idea" of a perfect cRPG to be superior to the other. As Bill Hicks would say: "That's a bit of a c*cksuck, ain't it?"

I just ran it. I got a most impressive score of 629.

check out the old twilight zone episode, "an occurence at owl creek bridge," or read the short story of the same name. both were better than jaccob's ladder... an not simply 'cause they were the source material. The basic package is free. I'm not aware of anyone paying for the advanced version except for reviewers and developers, who want to test the hardware/potential scenario.

Jacob's Ladder, one of the best movies ever IMO. If one get connection between Jacob's personal demons and the ending, one has witnessed one of the best movies done in the last 20 years or so + some of the special effects (rapidly twisting head) were way ahead of its time. Red Eye was avarage.

If Planescape: Torment wasn't a good story, then what is a good story for an RPG? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where did I use the word story? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No need to be a smartmouth. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No smartmouth here. I ws merely noting that tere is a difference between "story" (ie plot) and the writing that conveys said story. Plus PS:T has a lot of writing that has nothing to do with the stoiry arc in the first place. Thirdly: my primary point was not about the poor and self-indulgent writing (hello Reekwind! wtf? ) but that the most seriously interactive aspect of PS:T is moving the scrollbar. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That has to be the first time i heard an argument like this, are you implying that even if the writing is bad and fails to convey the story in a good matter, the story itself can be awesome/great/marvellous? If true, then Oblivion has the possibility to have the best story ever.

Theoretically, yes. Since a single PPU would do the physics, while the other's handle A.I. and so on. But it's difficult to implement, so i believe it when i see it
