May 17, 20187 yr "...and a spell of its own to enhance the overall atmosphere of the Deadfire! I also loved how one tavern tune was influenced by one of those from Baldurs Gate and even used for one of the ship melee fights. Just wanted to say thank you Obsidian and especially archmage Justin Bell."Edwin Odesseiron said to the crowd.
May 17, 20187 yr I have noticed the improvement in the music. Not to say the music in the first game was bad, it was good, but it seems to stand out more in Deadfire. There seems to be more variation between the tracks as well. From someone who knows next to nothing about music, two thumbs up! "That rabbit's dynamite!" - King Arthur, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail "Space is big, really big." - Douglas Adams
May 17, 20187 yr I personally preferred the combat music of the first game. This one's is very, very repetetive.
May 17, 20187 yr Tbh the only music I enjoy thus far is tavern music and sea shanties. The rest is just an ok background music. Combat music, while it does its job, is the worst part of Deadfire sound imo. Pillars 1 had in general superior music.
May 17, 20187 yr Have loved the music so far too. Much improved combat music too. It was too much in-your-face in POE1, so I had to turn it off (think I had to edit the files, or delete them).
May 17, 20187 yr Yeah, PoE1's combat music was its weakest point, but here Justin Bell has outdone himself! The music really fits the game in all sorts of ways. Edited May 17, 20187 yr by IndiraLightfoot *** "The words of someone who feels ever more the ent among saplings when playing CRPGs" ***
May 17, 20187 yr I still like the music to PoE better. Also, the ambient noises were much better in PoE. Where is the hushed tavern talk in the background?
May 17, 20187 yr It's all right in my opinion, it has some memorable tracks like Mother Ocean will Lead us Safely Home and All Gods. But it isn't as awesome as Divinity Original Sin 2's soundtrack.
May 17, 20187 yr I love the main theme, opening the game with the Obsidian and Versus Evil splashes... pumps me up to get in there! Enjoying what I hear throughout the entire game. Both PoEs have top notch sounds (tracks/effects/ambient), all of it. Well done Mr. Bell and thank you sir.
May 17, 20187 yr Another vote for Deadfire's music here, and for its combat music too. I personally enjoy the more rhythmic, comparatively understated and organic feel they've gone with for them this time around, I feel it's lending a lot more personality to the combat this time around than with the first game.
