Freeze on character creation after a few seconds

Added output log which seems to output some weird messages repeated a couple of times. Like:

d3d11: failed to create staging 2D texture w=106 h=110 d3dfmt=65 [887a0005]
d3d11: attempt to lock null buffer

and:

(Filename:  Line: -1)

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
  at Game.UI.UIImageButtonRevised.get_MousedColor () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at Game.UI.UIImageButtonRevised.NotifyModeChanged () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at Game.UI.UIImageButtonRevised.OnyxDisable () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at Onyx.OnyxBehavior.OnDisable () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

Hey Tetramorium and Systolicframe,

Would you guys be able to provide your .log files and dxdiag? I don't see any log attached unfortuately. It may help to link to a file sharing portal to make sure it gets through.

Thanks,

The screen locks up. I can still move my mouse but I can't click anythign anymore in the skill/level up screens. Happens after a  few seconds. Sometimes I have more time and I can quickly click things and continue playing.

Does the screen freeze, or are your mouse clicks not registering?

There's a thread on mouse click problems caused by having the steam overlay turned on - https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97411-input-device-mouse-click-doesnt-work-mostly/?hl=%2Bmouse+%2Bclicks&do=findComment&comment=2008606

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

This seems very similar to what's happening to me as well. The screen freezes but the mouse will still change icons depending on what you mouse over, and clicks will still register (for example clicking or character portraits will still play the selection sounds etc.)

And I'm seeing the same errors in my output_log

I'm getting the same issue with the screen freezing up, but I'm much further into the game and have quite a few hours of gameplay behind me. But in one particular spot in Fort Deadlight it happens every time.

I've posted a bug report. My output log also has LOTS of the following error:

d3d11: failed to create staging 2D texture w=157 h=192 d3dfmt=65 [887a0005]
