Question

Posted

A new proficiency has been added. Problem, she is here immedately.

Devoted cannot choose fist/claw as proficiency.

A proficiency is a choice no ? It is not innate... So I think its a bug.

Cause also a problem with Druid / Devoted by extension.

So stay the problem of claw with spiritshifting (druid). Source of my demarche at the origin.

Devoted = (Conditionnal) when shifted.

If we consider unarmed = claws, there is a bug. Because this don't work.

If not, Obsidian must create a new proficiency with claws.

During POE1, peasant weapon focus was "unarmed".

And unarmed = Fist AND claws. Memories.

Agreed. Spiritshift's natural weapons should count as unarmed attacks for the purpose of proficiency.

I think the changelog for the newest beta says that every char gets the unarmed profiency automatically.

That means devoted would have 2 profiencies.

I am not sure what this means if you multi class devoted with unarmed monks, shifted druids and maybe some other things ( mage transformation?).

Should devoted NOT get unarmed profiency for free, they can chose between unarmed or any other weapon at character creation and then they put all "natural weapons" in the unarmed category?

 This seems like the best outcome. And yeah, Devoted/Monk is really good at the moment because of the stacking of transcendant suffering and the devoted bonuses.

Actually a Devoted/Shattered Pillar at level nine gets 11 penetration with fists and a pure Shattered Pillar gets 10 penetration so the difference is not that much. Single class getting two abilities when new power level combined with a higher power level makes fist using monks a very strong contender for staying single class.

I agree that having an unarmed proficiency that Devoted needs to take instead of getting it for free would be best. have it apply to claws for shape shifters and everyone wins.
